I’m never usually shocked by soaps, and most of the time everything’s spoiled beforehand so I know what’s happening, but this..... I would never ever have guessed it was Kathy getting out of that cab. Not in a million years.
Still remember watching this live. I didn't really know who Kathy was so didn't realise how big of a shock her return was . Still remember my mum and dad absolutely gobsmacked at her return hahaha
So annoyed that I missed this reveal! I was like 12 at the time and I wouldn't have known who Kathy was even if I was watching. Such a shame, I can only hope we get something as good as this again!
I think her return was a flop to be honest, yea the initial comeback and shock value was good but they made the same mistake with her as they did with Dirty Den-basically they didn't have a clue what to do with either of them once they came back. They've written far better for Sharon in her comebacks than they did for Kathy.

I always thought in my head that Kathy could come back via some Witness Protection thing but some episodes before this there were some slight hints between Phil wanting to speak to Ian about something and the thought crossed my mind that that would be the only thing he’d press to tell Ian. When she came on the screen I jumped out of my chair and shouted “I knew it. I knew it!” Happy cos I love the nostalgia but also because I loved the character. Shame Cindy couldn’t have came back though too but I think that’s enough rising for the dead for one family. Haha

They could end up doing it for the 40th anniversary in 2025 bring Mick back
