Funny how the only photo Kathy smiled at was when she looked at Pete, I know things didn’t work out for them but I do believe Pete was the one who Kathy loved most
This was actually the beginning of the episode. They used what's called a 'cold open' for that specific episode, which is this scene here. Then the titles rolled! Also, this episode had such a long end credit sequence (for a weekday episode). They extended the 'already extended' theme to add an extra 15 seconds, 1min25s overall.
This was the opening scene of Kathy's original departure (and also Cindy's final exit) as a dream as Kathy was torn between Phil , Grant and Vicar Alex but she chose none of them and departed for South Africa in the end.
As it's meant to be all the men in her life in chronological order, she sees him first- it wasn't meant to suggest that he was a possible love-interest, although it did miss out certain others she had relationships with, such as Laurie Bates; probably due to timing reasons relating to scripting.
@@stephenmcconnell1000 I also wonder why it didn’t also include her brothers then since they seemed to play a more important part in her life than her father did.

Do you have the original credits? I've only ever seen the version with the "chorus", followed by one bridge - 45 seconds version.
So weird to be in the tiny minority who actually remembers this and even then I found this scene surreal!
Loved that, Drama just showed it.
I was surprised that Eddie Royle wasn't in the book. Kathy Beale had a relationship with him.
She had a shortlived thing with Laurie Bates too, but he was trying to model her on his wife
Pat sounds like miss trunchball
Don't sound nothing like her
