People can say what they like about the Max Branning revenge storyline, but I personally thought it was one of the best soap storylines of the 2010s - most particularly when it ended up colluding with James Willmott-Brown and his third villainous stint on the show.
A classic way of getting at Willmott Brown, trick him into thinking you fancy him, then attack him. After Nick Cotton, the soap's most evil character and made more dangerous by his upper crust accent, charm and expensive suits that make him a less obvious villain.
That was deeply satisfying

This storyline was a ridiculous one for EastEnders. They had to contaminate a previously well-rounded story ending with Kathy, Wilmott-Brown in his house with Pete. As for the violence in this scene, any man in that much agony, wouldn't just sit and take it as someone squeezes their privates. I can only think it was a sexual thrill for W-B.

I Never Understood Why Back In 1987 Why Kathy Didn't Punch James Wilmott Brown To Get Him Off Her. In The Scene When He Pinned Her Against The Wall Her Hand Was On His Lower Arm She Could Of Easilly Hit Him To Stun Him. 5 Years Later When He Returned I Remember Kathy Punching James Wilmott Brown Around The Head Saying I Hate You
She was scared back then she didn't know what was going to happen I've been in that position myself and it is hard. You go numb, some women punch some don't when I punched my attacker he punched me back
