  • In this episode I am making my way to Etosha Heights, a private game reserve and custodian of the Black Rhino. I am very excited to ride my motorcycle "Savannah", a Honda CRF250L through this reserve - and all the animal encounters that are awaiting me! On the way, I pass another animal disease control point, and I have a rather awkward conversation there..

I’m not sure about the Thailand location . . . having been hooked starting with the South American adventure, I was late coming to the Itchy Boots party. I’ll have to back-track to the starting point in India, but that will be something to look forward to. Most of the time I can find the starting point, destination, and perhaps a few waypoints during the trip. Quite easy when Google Maps has satellite imagery and street views, but I’ve not found any location in Namibia with GM street views, just images posted by shop keepers. Northern Europe, South Africa, and the larger cities in South America had quite good coverage. I think one of my ‘best finds’ was the ‘cocoa break’ location in Iceland. In that case both the GM satellite and street view images came before the building, so that took some inference. What episode has the ‘tree house’?

    Super episode, Noraly!
I think that elephant knew that you were in the blind, and wanted to meet you.

Yet again you have topped the last 2 videos Noraly. How do you do it? The elephants at the waters edge is exquisite. In your short life you are managing to fit into your life what most of us would only see 1% of. You are so lucky. To live life while your young. Explore, be an adventurer. The video of the elephants is worth more than a diamond from the diamond mines. Amazing!

Geweldig, de Olifanten. Ik heb er mooie herinneringen aan. In mijn jonge jaren heb ik een jaar lang twee olifanten verzorgd in een circus. Nooit zal ik dat vergeten. Geweldige beesten. WoW !! Love it.

Wow, riding your bike into the game park. Brings back memories (60 years ago) of us going on safari in the Serengeti when I was a boy in my dads car during school holidays, we were not allowed to get out, mind you we were too scared, my sister and I clicking away with out little Kodak brownies, black and white pictures. Look forward to next episode to seeing some animals. Even when we went up to the Ngorongoro crater, a natural watering hole in the dry season, we had to go in one of the parks land rovers, but as the animals were used to us we did get quite close.
