Hey guys, it's Charlotte Dobre here, and in today's video, we're going to talk about people who are in lost in delulu land. It's human nature to avoid facing difficult truths, but sometimes people take denial to a whole new level.
In this video, we'll explore some of the most shocking and entertaining examples of people who are in denial. From the person who insists they're not addicted to drugs, despite all evidence to the contrary, to the individual who refuses to accept that their partner is cheating on them, we'll see how people can create their own alternate realities to avoid facing the truth.
We'll also take a look at the psychology of denial, why people do it, and how it can negatively impact their lives and the lives of those around them. It's a fascinating and complex topic, and we'll explore it from all angles.
So, get ready to dive into the world of denial and prepare to be amazed. And as always, don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more videos like this one. Thanks for watching!

Whether you split the bill or not should depend on several factors. If you offered to take them out for dinner, and it is a reasonable price... Compared to the location of where you took them out, and by reasonable, I mean a drink, a meal, and maybe dessert. Anyone else that comes, should pay for their own, if they are old enough to hold a job. There are obviously exceptions to this general guideline, but definitely paying $4,000 for a meal is nowhere a reasonable demand. Instead, they should pay for their own portion of the meal, this includes any food they order, and drinks. Order, and desserts they order.

It wasn't $4k but 10 years ago me and my then best friend went on a two week vacation to NYC for her birthday where her new boyfriend was going to join us after a week. I had only met him once, briefly. Everything was great the first week. I had always wanted to go to NYC and we wanted to see most of the same things but when her boyfriend joined us, it was a disaster. He treated me like garbage and she "didn't see it" and kept making excuses for him, and even when I said they should do something together and I could go do something on my own, (because I figure he probably resented that I was there and probably wanted to do boyfriend/girlfriend stuff with her, which I understood) she insisted that I wasn't a 5th wheel but I totally was because I was at best ignored by both of them and at worst treated like a nuisance by him, but I digress.
On the second last day of the trip it was my then friend's birthday and we went to a fancy restaurant she always wanted to visit and then went to a Broadway show. Since it was the second last day, I was low on my budget and I planned to get my friend a souvenir at the show for her birthday, I got the cheapest thing on the menu and a water. Between the two of them they ordered steak, lobster, wine and appetizers, dessert etc. My food came to about $30, theirs were over $250.
When the waiter comes with the bill he declares that me and him will split the bill down the middle. I was so shocked I just did it (I was a doormat back then) and I was so upset I really didn't say anything the rest of the night. My, what I later learned was a toxic positive friend was just like, "Awww, thank you for such a wonderful birthday!" and was either blissfully unaware of how unfair that was or chose to ignore it. When she FINALLY realized I was upset and I told her why (I hadn't wanted to say anything because I didn't want to ruin her birthday but she asked and was persistent) she got all pissy and shoved $50 in my face and walked away as though that was the root of my issue. My real issue was how he treated me the whole week and how my feelings were ignored and my solution to let them have their alone time while I did my own thing was rejected and the birthday dinner bill was the straw that broke the camel's back. Even if he said that we should split only her portion of the bill, which would be more reasonable, I still don't think that would be right as he was the boyfriend and they ordered so much between them.
Me post-therapy would never let that happen. She married the guy. I was maid of honour at their wedding. They both treated me like crap in subtle but insidious ways. We're not friends anymore.

For real. It is a real problem when one person works really hard and becomes even a little bit successful, suddenly extended family comes out of the woodwork to ask for money.
Suddenly that person has a bunch of dependents and their hard work never gets them the financial freedom they worked so hard for. Beyonce being so extremely wealthy is a huge outlier, most people who this happens to can't buy and sell medium sized countries.

I agree. I also think Beyoncé should be in his life as a sister. Why take the affair out on him. I can’t imagine how he feel to be living poor with him mother with his famous family disowning him. His father should definitely be supporting him. Imagine seeing your family, your siblings all over the internet doing all this stuff yet that want nothing to do with you. Personally I would tell the mom if you want him to have a good life then he can move in with me. You can see him when you want but I’m not going to buy you a house and pay for you to live the rich life like you probably thought would happened when you started sleeping with my father without protection. I would have been in that kids life sense birth. He is her children’s uncle! Like why isn’t he invited to birthday parties at least? I would also pay for him to go to a good school. Yeah she definitely isn’t responsible but if I had money like that I would do all I could to help my brother without giving money to his mother.

@@kristianamarie6762 If Beyonce wanted to do that sure, she could but if she doesn't want she doesn't have to either. Beyonce has no connection with this boy and she should't be forced to make an emotional connection to somebody she doesn't know just because her father slept around. He isn't invited to parties or to chill with the family because to Beyonce that could just very well not a family member to her. It is amazing if you would want to do that for him, but it still isn't a reason to expect Beyonce to. She doesn't need to. And I am saying this as somebody who pretty much grew up in a situation a little bit like this (without having a famous half sibling) at the end of the day its Beyonce's choice if she wants him in her life or not and nobody should be expecting her to buy her half brother everything he wants just because her father slept with his mother. The only people who should be looking out for him is his mother and father. And Matthew has money. Sure not the amount of Beyonce or Tina I suppose, but he has enough to where he should be the one who is making sure his son isn't going without. This isn't Beyonce's fault, it isn't Beyonce's problem. Its Matthew's, and to put his problem on Beyonce just because she has money is wrong.

The big problem with the fire hydrant thing is that a lot of fires that have multiple casualties nowadays are usually the result of someone thinking, "Oh, fires are rare, so it's fine!" and taking shortcuts with fire safety. Just look at any number of the fire disaster documentaries here on CZcams. So maybe, like, don't EVER do that. I love your videos Charlotte, and I know it was probably meant as a joke, but there are people out there who really do think that this is a "life hack" to try.

I can totally believe that crazy mistress story. My father had a rather extreme midlife crisis and had about 6 mistresses (at the same time) at one point.
He eventually died alone overseas somewhere and since my mother was still legally his wife (he refused to divorce her), it was left up to her to make all the arrangements.
During that entire emotional mess, most of the mistresses let us be. Except for this one crazy lady. She was constantly harassing my mom, my uncle (my father's brother) and even his former employer, because she could not accept that my father had died practically penniless (the little money he did have tucked away didn't even cover his funeral expenses, his relatives had to chip in just so we could have a basic service). She was convinced he had been some kind of millionaire and that my mom, my brother and I were "being greedy" and keeping all the (non-existent) money to ourselves.
I'm not on social media much, so it was through my mom that she demanded from me to "do my duty as [my father's] first-born child" to financially support her as well as
the child she claimed my father conceived with her. Because older siblings had to look out for their younger siblings.
This was apparently after she failed to extort money from my uncle and my father's former employer.

I actually do feel pretty bad for the kid that was the product of the affair with Beyoncé’s father and his mother. He’s the collateral damage in all of this. He likely has no relationship with his biological father and his mother clearly chirps in his ear about how his half sister is one of the richest musicians on the planet, while they live in very modest conditions. She also seems to be very blunt with her son about how Beyoncé isn’t currently interested in knowing him (I do hope that changes with time, but it’s possible it won’t). He’s a 13 year old boy in a situation he never asked to be put in and it’s likely very confusing, frustrating, and saddening for him. He also probably feels pretty inadequate that his biological father has a child that’s an international superstar, that he clearly favors, while wanting little to no relationship with him. It’s one of those “everybody sucks” situations, except for the boy and Beyoncé (and Beyoncé’s mother, of course), and that’s why I hope some day they’ll be able to connect on some level, bc they are technically related, and they were both innocent in this situation

I don’t hope that. Honestly, in a lot of these situations, it’s best the affair kid and the older kid don’t have a relationship. The boy deserves a better life yes, but Beyoncé isn’t obligated to give it to him. She’s a grown woman with a family, no point in building a relationship with a kid who is not only a physical reminder of what her father did to her mother (which isn’t the kid’s fault but it’s still how she’s gonna feel), but the mom’s probably out here telling him to bother her for money because she ended up being incredibly famous and they live in a trailer park. Hopefully the kid gets a better life, but Beyoncé and her mom deserve to be free of this mess.

If someone offers to pitch in or pay for your meal you should thank them. Don't ever demand it or assume that they will. I have a large family that lives locally and sometimes we'll all go out to eat. Even though my uncle will always use his company card (family business) to pay for the meals I never assume that is what will happen. I go with the assumption that I will need to pay for myself. If I can't afford it at that time I won't go.

For the guy putting a construcrion cone over the fire hydrant it wouldn't work for long and better hope no cameras are around. Every fire department has a detailed map of the locations of fire hydrants on every street in every district and city they serve. They will just lift the cone off, break your windows to attach the fire hose, take your license plate info, make and model of your vehicle, tell cops to ticket you and have your car booted and or towed. Then criminally charge you for endangering the public, interferring with an emergency, vandalizing city/town property, and illegally restricting access to city/town resources. Then civily charge you for illegal parking near a fire hydrant. Failing to move your vehicle and make you pay several hundreds or thousands of dollars in fines. Major cities are natorious for this. Mostly because space is limited in major cities especially during an emergency.

@axon130 Former paramedic here. Ever since Covid19, most people have become careless, selfish, entitled, less tolerant, rude, violent, confrontational, even more racists, and plain disrespectful. I worked in the Fire department in a major city (Paramedic side). A lot of us quit including myself because it is truly a thankless job that really doesn't pay enough to deal with the people with the listed above character traits. Also because my fellow brothers and sisters on the medical frontline from hospital executives to the CNA's started offing themselves because of the pressure and mental toll. The US frontline EMS was never trained or prepared for a pandemic. Thank the greedy politicians in Congress for not putting in funding for such training over 2 decades ago when US EMS directors asked. The people of the public, blatant disregard for the safety and wellbeing of others, played a major role in the deaths all around in this country. Under the mindset, "If it's not happening to me, it's not my problem." Until it is. Not many people with the latter character traits exist these days. There are emergencies every day. Unexpected public crises and multi casualty incidents happen every day around the clock. Canada, California, and Maui just had a fire and had little time to react. Greedy owners at the top cutting corners on safety protocols to save a few dollars. Then you have curious or just plain reckless kids and teens with too much time on their hands doing whatever, whenever from loitering to gun violence to public and private properties and to people. The parents don't reprimand their kids for their actions and behaviors. Granted people are overworked and burned out in many countries. The US being one of them. There's an accident waiting to happen. It's sad, but a fire is expected these days, whether the cause is climate change or a single person's bordem/carelessness. Fires don't send a prior warning memo with time and date or location. So, for goodness sakes, don't park at the fire hydrant, tamper with, or conceal them. You could be costing lives and not know it because of your stupidity and inconsiderate entitled behavior and actions. By the time you realize it, it's too late. Having a vehicle comes with responsibilities and rules. Follow them at all times, no matter what. Parking is scarce in major cities, but it comes with the territory of living in them with a vehicle.

They all had alcohol and expensive dinners while wife and I had water and were barely able to afford the cheap meals we chose. At the end, they decided to split the bill amongst us all. We were completely taken aback and embarrassed about being so poor, and we ended spending waaay more money than we had budgeted. Yes, we should have refused, but we were also being shamed by said "friend" into it, so that was the last time we ever accepted an invite to anything with her. We avoid this person at all costs at this point.

As soon as I saw a group of strangers and no "friend", I would have said, "See you at the venue" and taken myself off to somewhere I could afford. Good for you ditching this toxic person.

No for real tho! If you're in an interview or an audition and they ask if you have a learnable skill, say yes but you're a little rusty, and then IMMEDIATELY LEARN THAT SKILL. This is how I became a Jr character designer and storyboard artist on an animated series 😂

In the birthday parties I went to, we never split the bill, HOWEVER we did all pay evenly for the birthday person's bill. But everyone else paid their own individual bills.

I love that I have friends who want to do activities instead of spend money on their celebrations. A lot of us like to go on special kayaking trips for special occasions, or have a special playdate with our dogs at the dog-friendly pub next to the dog park, or go to an amusement park. Food is always involved, but we pay for ourselves. I always just pay for any tickets or fees we incur during the day(s) we're up to stuff for myself and whoever we're celebrating (I'm a bit better off than my friend group).

As a single mom who in no way could afford hello fresh for myself and my two kids... It doesn't sound like they're as bad off as she's trying to claim. And in no way is it Beyonce's responsibility to take care of her "affair brother". That's on their father.

Plus if she was to help him, you can be damned sure she would make sure that it never helped her dad's mistress, such as setting up a trust for the brother that could only be accessed when he was 25.

A little known fact about fire hydrants. There is a reflective dot in the road that tells fire fighters where the hydrants are. They will find it and you will get fined lol. Next time you're driving take a look. In my town any time we see a blue dot that means there's a fire hydrant on the side of the road across from the dot.

If there's a pot that needs to go fo on the fridge, we put the lid upside down so it fits and the pot is closed. I get why she laughed so hard about it, tbh lol

@@RainingRebecca we did our best. I’ve always been very introverted and she was the only one I could really talk to. After 17 years it’s time for her to move on. We prevented a lot of suffering for her.

I'm so sorry for your loss! I went through that 6 months ago for my sweet little ginger girl Winnie, and as hard as it was, it was the right thing to do for her. I still have bad moments where I really miss her, and I cry, but it does get easier. ❤
