@@foxonrunspotoneverywhere795 my uncle lived with it!he wasted away in a home since he usually was in the high, but couldnt party with the caretakers in the come like he did in the 1960-70s and partyied hard!when we met him in the home, he would get super high and told us to break out from the home and party in his fav bars in Copenhagen!I miss u Akka Ole!Uncle Ole!
Yup. This video made me have a new respect for my husband and family and the struggle they go through to deal with me. Bipolar is miserable, but we can be functional and successful.
I’ve seen this video 100 times and still cry. Depression is a demon that won’t let go. This is why I never criticize anyone who commits suicide. Imagine their pain to think that’s their only option.

It takes more courage to cry in front of people then crying alone. By crying you show you are human. No need to apologize.
Great reaction! I have so much respect for Chris for using his talent as a platform to bring awareness to mental illness. We never know what struggles a person is living through so we should react to rudeness with kindness.

I’m a grown man and I sobbed by the end of this video. Really gets you depending on what you’ve been through.
Dylan please don't feel embarrassed about showing your heart to the CZcams community. I can see that you struggled but understood the point of the video so quick others just listen to the music played and watched the pretty images... You see much deeper hence feel deeper and I cried along with you too. Thank you so much for your honesty, I have walked that very fine line to wanting to..... But then time healing and professional help helps you get through it. If you have not heard in the CZcams Outdoors type community they did this world wide thing on men's mental health (and mental health in general) as men normally are they ones who bottle it up, unlike women who talk and talk lol. Your reaction is nothing to apologize for. Depression/mental illness takes away so much from so many. Chris Stapleton did this video to get awareness about mental health and to show people what it’s like. Unfortunately it hits home for a lot of us. Thanks for sharing your story and your care.

I love that you're not afraid to show your tears! I've lost people to suicide also, and I'm a product of a broken, abusive home and tried to end it myself, so this song definitely hits home for me. Depression is an ugly beast, and it comes in waves. I've never been more happy in my life, been with my husband for 15 years (since I was 20!), have 3 amazing kids, but the demon still finds me from time to time, and when it does, it's relentless (but I have so much to live for these days, so don't worry, I'm not going anywhere!). I've watched many reactions to this video, and yours is the most genuine. Great job.

Chris stated in an interview that the label was pushing him for a video but he didn’t wanna do something that was just a tool for marketing himself so in a meeting one day when they continued to push for ideas about a video storyline he just threw out the subject of suicide and the idea grew from there. He called a friend to help write and direct it and personally requested the male actor in the video after seeing his volunteer work and support for a charity that offers mental health care and support to people.
He didn’t want to make a video to sell the music because he knew good music will sell itself to some degree. He wanted to use the platform to hopefully help someone or focus on this sensitive subject that society doesn’t talk about often enough or honestly enough...and he succeeded, I believe! It is extremely powerful and always unexpected to first time viewers.

It has been almost 2 months since my baby brother ended his life. He was 25 years old and nobody saw the signs. I have never been a country music fan. I'm more of a rocker but my wife made me watch the CMA awards with her a couple of weeks ago. After watching this man win a bunch of awards I decided to look him up when I watched the video to this song I immediately broke down. This song really hits home to me. I also love watching reaction videos so I knew this was one I had to watch some on. I came across yours and I can't stop watching it. I watched a interview with Chris, the actor, & director of this video & they wanted to bring awareness to mental illness & suicide. The money made from this video is being donated to a charity for prevention of suicide & I think the web site is shown at the end. It's a powerful video.... It's a great song... Im so sorry for your pain. As a depression sufferer on a chronic level for 22 years now, this hits home for me too.
I have severe depression, severe anxiety, and mild bipolar disorder. This video makes me cry too. My husband understands what I deal with, but he works on a tug boat, and is gone 28 days, and home 14 days. That makes things more difficult for me. We are moving closer to my family and friends in a couple of months, who are currently 400 miles away. Our new home will be less than 100 miles away. I struggle to make new friendships, because of my depression. So I am pretty much alone, when my husband is at work. But I have friends from childhood, who have stuck with me, and helped me along the way, when I needed it. I get phone calls and messages from them. They'll even jump in the car and drive down, if they know I am in need of uplifting company. I wish I didn't have to be like this, but I am, and there's not a lot I can do about it, except take my meds. And that doesn't always help.
If I see your comment I'll talk to ya 😁 my job and this channle keeps me away from family sometimes and it's a tough to juggle time. I hope the move helps the situation. Good luck and thanks for watching!

I am just seeing this reaction but wanted to thank you for showing honest emotion and the grief that comes with loss. It has been 2 years since my best friend took his life and I think of him every single day. I never knew and the survivors guilt eats you up. My heart goes out to you and to anyone that has lost a loved one to suicide. I pray that anyone having a hard time and thinking of a permanent solution to a temporary problem will each out and talk to someone. I wish every day that I would have known. God bless you and all those suffering.

My sister took her life almost 2 years ago ..and this song cuts too damn deep man. It took a long time for me able to watch it. She had a mental illness that hit her in her 40s (bi-polar with manic episodes that were very scary). Doctor prescribed her meds with a side effect of suicidal thoughts...I was angry for a long time.
Man you are such a good soul and the crying just shows that you are real and have a heart. Never be ashamed of that. Take care 🙂

thank you for doing this video. i was so moved just witnessing such a strong emotion on another human being. i believe that the fact that people are so ashamed or afraid to show any emotion is one of the main reason that that happens. i think you doing this goes a long way in showing that its ok to have emotions especially where young men are concerned. cus if a manly man such as yourself can show emotion then maybe its ok for them to also
