I first heard Bob I was 7 my older played him all the time 51 years he is still in my life. I always say is Bob is my therapist, he goes out to the garden with me every day I recently lost my brother who introduced me to Bob, l always feel like my big bro is always with me!

This song reminds me of my daddy...just diagnosed with chronic leukemia last few months 69 years old and this is EXACTLY how he was from start till now....he loved his career as a welder and his Harley and his baby girl....he fumbled a lot but as an older man started to see things differently.....to me my daddy was always strong like a rock held on to his beliefs ECT....firm believer that if I worked hard and followed ur dreams things could really happen for you.....he's an amazing man to me my daddy always will be!!.....I just lost my mom on the 16th of this month and yesterday the 18th was my birthday first one without my beautiful mama....daddy didn't know exactly how to call me ....he just didn't know what to say to me....I told him ur supposed to tell me happy birthday daddy 😊....got a small sigh and a happy birthday 🎈bob segar has been my favorite person since I was literally a baby mama used to tell me a funny story about me as a baby who crawled out the crib and would turn him on shed wake up and smile and come get me...daddy loves him too❤ I just turned 48 yesterday

I saw Bob Seger and the SBB back in 86. (I'm old) lol It was sold out in 15 minutes and this is long before you could buy tickets online. One of the best concerts I've been to.

That '86 tour was my first concert...saw him in Cleveland, Oh...but let's not forget this was the highest grossing commercial ever..

That's a legendary voice there. Seger...nuff said.
This song will make more sense to those over 50 and just how fast time flies in my case my baby of the family is turning 32 this Dec my oldest Granddaughter is turning 15 in five days it just seems like I closed my eyes and it passed over night is how it feels every year seems to pick up speed as you start realizing you got more years behind you then you got in front of you.

Chevrolet trucks used this song in their tv advertisements for years! You’d have to live under a rock in the US to have never heard this song, lol.
This used to be the theme for Chevrolet pickup trucks
That kind of ruined it for me…heard the chorus so much it became cliche.
But it is a great song.

Great reaction just a little history about the song is that Bob sold this to Chevy for a million dollars the song could not be played and Bob could not play this at any of his concerts. I remember the first night that it was played for the first time in 20 years
Big mistake by GM for not allowing him to sing it in concert. He could have always given Chevy trucks a shout out. Win win.

Just a guy in the world here, going indiscriminately about his business. My 'nickname' at work is 'old man Mike'... I think it's a diss because of my work ethic. Who knew I once ran a 4:26 mile while pressing 250lb at 130lb (average)... I sit here in the dark bathed in the light of my laptop and recall... when I was 19 I was running a 20 pound pneumatic chisel up and down the underside of a fuel station M frame on board a haze gray AOE auxiliary in a sleeveless pair of coveralls and an white onix cross about my open tanned collar. Every once in a while I'd a glance at the horizon across the glass surface of the Indian Ocean with clear Hazel eyes, breathing in the salt air, standing tall on the floor of the scaffolding, swaying gently with my sea legs solid beneath me. Proud, honored to serve you and honorable, like a rock, I was something to see folks. Something to see...
