one of my first albums, i believe i was 8 or 9 when my older sister gave to me from her own collection. listened to it endlessly. the entire side 1 absolutely incredible ,sooooo diverse ,dig it ! that album is long gone, however theres a copy still in its wrapper on a shelf in my room that im looking at right now! a true treasure!

It's true about Slavic people. Did you know the French/Napoleon Bonaparte brought thousands of Polish(Slavic) soldiers to help him crush the Haitians slave revolution? The Polish saw themselves in the Haitians and respected their proud fighting spirit, defected and sided with the Haitians against the French. The Polish also shared a special piece of their heart with the people there, the Lady of Chestochowa. This particular painting of Mary and Baby Jesus was credited with protecting the church in Chestochowa Poland from being burned down by invading Swedish armies, and in other times of war in Polish history.

William Ellison, was one of South Carolinas black slave owners. He bought his freedom. He purchased his freedom from his owner. At one point he owned 170 slaves. Ellison was taught a trade by his former owner. South Carolina history is interesting. Really enjoying your channel.

The short guy with the dark hair (Paul Simon) wrote it. His Partner, the Tall guy with the light frizzy hair Art Garfunkel) sang it. Simon & Garfunkel were the best folk/rock duo in history.

Incredibly emotional - from Paul Simons writing, to Art Garfunkel's soaring vocals, to the masterful crescendo of the recording, one of the greatest songs to emerge from the late 60s. One of the greatest songs ever. The Hollies tried to mimic this instant classic with "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother". Nice song, but not even close. This song spans generations, probably even centuries. It's message is enduring.

I lived in Massachusetts and subscribed to a surfing magazine because of the Beach Boys.

Karen had that pure singing voice and is surely missed. The great ones leave us to soon, RIP Karen.🌹🌹
