AGW is a myth. The percentage of the atmosphere that is CO2 is about 0.038% (about 400 ppm) with humans contributing about 3.6% to 5% of that amount globally. CO2 levels were up to 20 times higher and global temperatures averaged about 10C hotter in the distant past, before humans existed, and plants thrived. Plants stop thriving at about 300 ppm and die off at 150 ppm which means that our CO2 levels are actually dangerously low. If plants stop thriving, so does everything that depends upon them.

Well, he may be right about the 2%. I heard sth. like this n Germany. If all the single nations look at their small part and say: look, we can make no difference then they can‘t. If everyone takes responsibility for their part then some change is possible. He‘s right about the poor in this world but some low tech renewables like cooking chests, sun reflector ovens and such used by billions would help them save money they don‘t have to spent on non-renewables or contribute to deforestation. It wouldn‘t make them poorer.
This orator is just too old school to see possibilities beyond his old school. He‘s a part of the problem. (BTW I‘m not woke; I have been awake long before that term was coined.)
It doesn't make lives more expensive in Africa and Asia??? You are welcome to come to Germany to pay our electricity bills now that we mostly running on "green" energy!

I almost didn't watch this video because I expected an attack on people who think beyond what is in front of us to what underlies what is shown on the surface. I watched the video because I generally love your reactions but I was right in my expectations.
Woke means aware. Too many people fail to comprehend the word's origins and meaning This video and this speaker exemplify this lack of understanding.
Treating people based on the content of their character will not eliminate racism. It's a systemic issue -- not just how we treat each other but how our society has built systems that perpetrate racism. Climate change is not just about saving polar bears. The fate of polar bears and other evidence reveals the presence of an approaching climate crisis that will seriously impact our world (and is already impacting those places poor people inhabit).
Protesting does not equal complaining. It's not as simple as the speaker wants listeners to believe. People protest mainly to change systems; individuals may be changed by protests but it's more to wake them up to what''s happening, making them aware and believing they care enough to do what they can about it.
Side note: I understand well what an outhouse is having spent time visiting grandparents with no indoor running water.
If you are woke (with your definitely of aware), can you name any of those systemic systems or policies you mentioned?
And you should also be aware by now that the origin of a word or movement does not represent what this movement morphs into...I mean communism is nice in theory, blm started off with good intentions....wokism is no different

“Woke” or “Awake” means I care enough about the well-being of others that I am willing to stand up for them. Can woke critics say the same?
The only thing I don't like about this video, is that he's using the buzzword "woke culture" to demonize his political opposition. He makes great points about the absurdity of many far left policies, but he could just as easily call out the far right for their authoritarian views and attempts to stifle open discussion about the problems facing humanity.
where is the right stiffling discussion currently? You might identify as woke but not as far left, but 99% of woke are far left, that movement is synonymous with everything he described. Maybe wanna rethink instead how you self-identify if this extreme left outlook isnt yours...as this clearly means you are (thank god) not woke!
What would be wrong is if he would use this term as a blanket term for all left, which he doesn't...BUT that very far left, woke culture he is talking about is using the term right as a sledge hammer argument to shut down any sort of communication and trying to call everyone that is just a bit to their right on views suddenly "nazis" or "rac...ts"
I am actually traditionally centre left but what the left all over the West is currently doing has me shiver and clearly needs an opposite force, which is why I am now voting the right here (mind you with 90% of the policies still the same ones I used to vote for with the parties when I still identified left-centre)...the whole society has just shifted to the left now so drastically that normal centre policies like regulated immigration is now called R***

Woke means to be aware that there are racial biases inherent in the justice system. This is demonstrably true with even a cursory look at statistics. But misappropriation of terms like woke and CRT to stoke fears among an uneducated populace, banning books, demonizing immigrants, climate change denial, restrictive laws on women's healthcare are just a few ways the right is stifling discussion. Break out of your silo and don't take anything at face value.
