Agreed with Piers about Wenger's change of signings. Wenger was way too quick to let go of the older players from the Invincibles, United held on to Giggs and Scoles for as long as they could and that paid off for them. But I do think the stadium had a lot to do with this change. Wenger tried to take on younger and more skillful players with a lower wage demands, to combat the payment of the stadium and to just stay in touch with the top four. Think about it, if we hadn't moved stadiums, we probably would of signed the likes of Yaya Toure as a Veira replacement to play along with his brother at the time or put more effort into stopping players leave to rival clubs. But it was a necessary evil on Wenger's part, and now we are going to reap the benefits. COYG!

I think Arsenal over the last 8 years just didn't have the quality in depth to win a premier league title, you can't say it's all down to physical size and physical attributes. This upcoming squad though I think could be the strongest since 2006 and definitely could win the league.

As much as Piers may seem fickle, especially on twitter, he does make sense here. Arsenal got rid of the Invincibles too soon and Wenger was too naive in thinking that a bunch of technically gifted youngsters would carry the team forward. Wenger wanted to prove Arsenal could win by being 'Barca on a budget' and that just wasn't going to happen.

Henry was far far better than Bergkamp. Literally unplayable at times. I remember watching him back in the day and thinking wow wtf. Bergkamp was an excellent technical player and scored some fantastic goals i.e. the one against Argentina in the world cup in 1998 but Henry absolutely destroyed teams at times.
