    As a Leeds Utd fan I find it staggering how any ''Arsenal fan'' would want Wenger out. In 10 years Wenger has had a net spend of only £9 million whilst still retaining Arsenal in the Champions League and building a fantastic stadium. He has single handedly secured Arsenal's future for the next 50 years. So called ''fans'' like Piers prefer short term success but fail to see the bigger picture. The guy is a complete joke along with all the ''Wenger out'' fans. Look how Leeds have ended up. We had a few years of competing with the best with money we didn't have, and now we're paying the price by languishing in the bottom half of the Championship. Arsenal are now financially secure and no longer need to sell their best players and can now compete with the top clubs in Europe with transfers. If you guys don't want Wenger, I'm sure we'll take him along with a host of other top clubs in Europe. Arsenal fans will only realize and appreciate how good you've had it once Wenger leaves. The guy is a genius and should have the stadium named after him!!!

    We have gone through quite a few players over the past ten years and our squad is completely different from a few years ago, but one thing remains constant and that is our lack of bottle. There are only 2 possible reasons for this.
    1) - Wenger deliberately signs cowards.
    or

    Very disappointed with Martin Keown's stance here. He is obviously trying to be politically correct and he does not want to upset Arsenal. But that is the problem with Arsenal right now, we are lacking the balls to make changes. And that is to let go of Wenger. Wenger has been a great manager for Arsenal, but the league has evolved and he has not. I completely agree with Piers Morgan and how couldn't I? You can't possibly make valid arguments against what he has to say. 1 FA Cup vs 10 trophies from ManU? Anyone challenge that. Wenger out, or Arsenal will not be league champions again.

    • @ejiro241
      @ejiro241 Před 9 lety

      Fernando Gamez Honestly i agree we are lacking the balls to make change. But the thing is wenger had the foresight and vision for Arsenal to move to a bigger stadium which i doubt the board had imo. When we moved to the emirates stadium, it was a shame that david dein left the club because he helps wenger in transfer dealings if i am not making mistake. Henry realised that if he continued at Arsenal he wont win anything so he had to jump ship to barcelona after the sales of most of the invincible players. With that being said the stadium debt had to be paid. This would have been easier if the Arsenal owners had paid it off.
      But since the club talks about values in which the club should be run without an owner we had to sell our best players to get money to pay the stadium debt. That i could understand but still Arsenal had chances to win the league in 2008 season we all know how that ended with eduardo's leg break. Well thats the past now. We have paid the debt now and we have money to spend but it seems wenger doesnt spend it on the players we need. This is where people are really furious and gutted.
      I will always appreciate wenger for what he did. I feel he has set the platform for Arsenal for any other manager to do a great job. I do not know if he still has the touch to win the epl. Because the last time he spoke after the second FA cup. He said he feels like continuing. He showed desire and passion for the club. But i really do not know if he can do it. If he can make the quality signings we need i will be delighted. The board is to blame too. They do not care about the fans and are only interested in making profit. If the board puts pressure on wenger i have a feeling he will deliver.

    The moment piers said Harry Redknapp could have done what Wenger did in 10 years and that he don't care about the bank, it only shows how shallow and myopic a fan he is. If he desires success in terms of trophy and not caring about anything else, then he could very well be a Chelsea/Man C fan, why do he bother to support a club that obviously does not suit his taste? Why bother taking all the frustrations and anger for 10 years? If one honestly such a die hard supporter of a club, you'll probably be more aware of the circumstances and environment the club was in over the last decade. The fact that Wenger's sub standard teams can continuously give fans heartaches and frustrations, always coming close but not quite there - shows you the team have been achieving beyond their means. Give those squads to Mourinho/Mancini/Pep, you think they'll definitely fair better?

I can understand that Arsene have met the minimum requirements of the board in this period, but I can not understand or forgive the fact that he hadn't even CHALLENGED for the Premier League from 2006????? That is a proof of his quality and level as a manager imo.
    And now he's saying that money isn't everything to challenge for the title when asked about Leicester's success!!! But few years ago he specifically said that rich owners prevented him from winning the league!! What a hypocrite. He knows football fans are zombies who will support the club no matter what. He's a stubborn old fool who needs to go. Uses injuries as an excuse and doesn't buy a midfielder in the summer. Buys a GK that won the CL and keeps him on the bench to appease Ospina because he promised him to start in the CL. A mad man full of arrogance and limitations. Can't wait to see the back of him.

    He's had two years with an actual budget worthy of competing for top trophies and in those two years I think we've seen progress.
    This season has been disappointing in some areas (a lot to do with injuries) but with another FA Cup and a few quality transfers in the summer, we'll be stronger next season.

    @LukeNintyFive Před 9 lety

    I used to think like piers Morgan. Let me make it clear, he is 100% right, be honest with yourself. But he sees it as a half glass empty sort of thing. Your analysis of arsena wenger really depends on how u take all the factors into account like the Emirates stadium. Not to use that as an excuses but if you've been to the Emirates you will know they have put all the clubs possible money to make it and people done understand that wenger had to primarily keep arsenal in the top 4 without breaking the bank, for 9 years. Kept arsenal in top 4 after the majority of players were sold (we had to make a profit, there's no other reason as to why we sold nasri, clichy, rvp, song and even fabregas). For a manager, no arsena wenger has done quite a poor job as far as winning is concerned, but for the circumstances he's was under, he's done an amazing job with arsenal football club and making sure it didn't slip into financial obscurity like a lot of clubs have done in the past. And now we're out the deep end and our team is ready to compete from this point onwards!

    He says somethings right but he is all over the place really.... "I dont want a steady ship".... as opposed to what a ship that goes along great for a while then hits the rocks??????????????
    He says we need a Martin Keown and he is right there, but the real trouble is, is there a Martin Keown left in world football?
    Even the defenders now are ball players and they have the arrogance that goes with it. If you read some Arsenal books Henry always jokes about how many footballs Keown sent into the car park but that made him have to absolutely scrap for everything on his way to becoming an Arsenal and England Defender.
    I suppose what i mean is, if you look at Chelsea this season, Cahill, Terry, Ivanovic and Azpilicueta, 4 top class internationals and two of them what people would call "Old school" english type defenders and what happened....... Top professionals gave up, they may has well have been showing up to some matches, shaking hands and then going home accepting the 3-0 walkover.
    There will never be a Keown because the players are millionaires at 18 etc.

    Piers Morgan: "I don't care about balancing books I care about being competitive". Isn't that what Ridsdale did at Leeds where he risked a short term shoot for European glory for the long term financial crisis and almost liquidation of the club. Maybe that's what people don't respect about Wenger and Arsenal in recent years where they outstandingly always qualify for the Champions League.

    As an Arsenal fan... I'm embarrassed to have Morgan as our most outspoken fan. I'm sick of tired of his Wenger hating. He doesn't understand the OVER-ACHIEVEMENT Wenger provided when he first came - his exceptional scouting system, the players he brought in cheaply that became legends etc.... Morgan has no idea of this. If you look at the reality of the game since Wenger last won the title, it's a money game now. You only have to look at the money spent the past 10 years by Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City to know that there is reality to expectations. When we were still at Highbury and these clubs with bigger resources werer buying better players - plus, the scouting system we had that was so elite became common place with other clubs.
    So Wenger made a long term plan. Sort a stadium and increased revenue for the future so that success could once again be obtainable. So we built The Emirates and we spent peanuts the next years. I'd argue that Wenger keeping Arsenal in the top 4 all those years was arguably as good as him winning the double! We got through it and were a bit unlucky not to do better in one or two competitions.
    We are now back and getting closer! :)
    The past two years we have a bit of money again. We are not selling our best players to pay for the stadium, that is over now too... we have reasons to be positive.
    Morgan complains (by the way, how's the phone tapping investigation going Mr Morality?) that we aren't winning the league each year but the clubs above us are/have outspent us for many years and are in debt or are a sham with their financial losses. If FFP does come into place and start working then we are going to see Arsenal surge. People who just want to buy big all the time will find that it's not so easy to be successful when you have to apply prudence to your methods.

      lilazna55a5inz Only in the past two years has wenger been allowed a transfer budget to actually challenge for the league. Previously he has had to sell our TOP players (Rvp/Ces/Nasri/Song etc) because of our financially situation in building the new stadium.
      Now the fees for the new stadium are pretty much done and the past 2 years we've been allowed to spend we've seen Welbeck, Ozil, Sanchez all join Arsenal and we won the FA Cup.
      Sacking Wenger wouldn't only be stupid it would be fucking idiotic. Give him 2 years more and see where we are at - Judging him via past years during the stadium change is fucking dumb (last 10 years bollocks.. means nothing).

    • @princeflurry
      @princeflurry Před 9 lety

      even when arsenal had rvp,cesc,nasri and song they still couldn't win the epl and they're all top players. i agree with maybe the lack of funds to a certain extent but money can't be arsenal'a excuse to everything. I still remember the 2011 carling cup final that arsenal lost against Birmingham. Which i think every arsenal supporter would agree that result is unacceptable when you compared both sets of players. Now that u say their stadium is paid off then how come wenger didnt go big and buy cesc? i mean u gotta question his decision making in the transfer market too where he also has signed a lot of crap players.

    • @SteveWilliamsXO
      @SteveWilliamsXO Před 9 lety

      lilazna55a5inz First of... The year in which we had RVP, Cesc Nasri Song all performing together.. was the 09 year when we was practically running the league before Eduardo had his leg break and our season then went to shit. So we was on track to win the EPL.
      Second.. Our performance v Birmingham was shit but you can't put that down to one man (wenger). Every team losses games.. If you go back to that game too it was a STUPID error between KOS and Woj that cost us and gave them the winning goal.
      3rd the signing of Cesc.. What buy him and replace OZIL? No no no. We just spent 44m on Mesut - buying another player for his role would be so dumb. It would basically be like United going out at the end of this year and signing someone to replace Di Maria.. WONT HAPPEN.
      Lastly, you just said "question his decision making in signing crap players".. That makes me very concerned for you.
      Prior to the past 2 years where he has had no money to spend.. he has HAD to buy mediocre players because funds wasn't available (santos etc them bellends) but.. now in the past two years look who he has signed.
      Mesut Ozil
      Alexis Sanchez
      Danny Welbeck
      Mathieu Debuchy
      Calum Chambers
      Gabriel Paulista
      All are capped at international level and are outstanding players.
      See prior to the past two years look who we signed:
      Monreal.. (couldn't even probably make Spains B squad)
      Giroud (at the time he wasn't even a legit international just a superb striker in the French league for montpellier).
      Poldolski (an ageing German international)
      Arteta (he's average at best lets be honest and a last minute replacement for cesc)
      Gervinho (A gamble he could have been superb but it didn't go for him, imo a top player)
      Koscienly (A HUGE GAMBLE that paid off because he only had TWO seasons in top flight football before coming to us.. but he was a bit of wenger genius signing)
      Chamakh... (I dont have to say anything.. hes dogshit)
      Squallici.. LOL
      If i jot anymore down ill be going too far back but - in the last two years compared to previous years you can see a CLEAR difference in signings.. can you not?
