@@TawandaTD97 Facts are Arsenal were the 8th highest spenders in England between 2006-12 and had the best net spend out of the 25 highest spending clubs so that shows you what they were prioritising. 5th highest between 2013-18 as well so for him to get top 4 for so long, he was doing his job at the club right but needed backing to go the extra distance. Also the football they were playing around 2010 was the best in the league with average players by Arsenal standards. With elite players I’m convinced he would’ve done really well around then.
Wenger papered over the cracks but he was more than content with keeping arsenal afloat instead of shooting further. So he's equally culpable

Correct Wenger was an empty vessel when Dein left. The last straw for me when he said top 4 was like winning a trophy. And he built a great stadium, no an Architect and good builders build a great stadium. And He was acting more like the clubs Accountant than that of a Manager. I love Lee man. Been a subscriber since 2018. Born in 98 started supporting Arsenal since 2007 when I was 9. Wenger made us play beautifully hence my support then. But having had to wait, every year, all the time, constantly capitulating against top 6 sides. Always bottling, wasting Alexis and Ozil, Ramsey, Wilshere, RVP, Nasri, Halep... that threw me. This is not a serious football club. It's a business for making money. Arsenal is far too corporate. It almost feels like an f1 team how corporate they are. They just wanna milk the fanbase for everything they've got. I literally hate Arsenal at this point. I watch our matches, all that. But I still fucking hate us.

@King Darwin The owner should have sacked him sooner hence why they're mostly at fault, but lets keep it a buck, Wenger should not have needed to be sacked to know when it was time to leave, so it's still partly his fault.
@King Darwin My original comment said Wenger is only partly to blame though, so we don't disagree there. Where we do disagree is Wenger didn't leave because it got too heated, he left because getting sacked was his only other option so he chose to leave. The owners put him on high contracts but they never forced him to sign them, yet he did over and over again when he shouldn't have. He knows that too btw hence why he himself said not leaving sooner was his biggest regret.
