Henry was special but Bergkamp was magical

Dennis at his best was unstoppable, when playing at this best I saw no other player coming close to his play.
His goal at the world cup is simply the best I ever saw. I couldn't imagine someone being that good! I literally stared at the screen for a few minutes!!!
Such a pure man, and a very good player. Listen to him, Cruyff, van Basten, Rijkaard. They are great examples. Have nothing to gain in what they say for money or whatever, just want to be saying how it is.

Yeah but didn't you find it strange what he said about his time at Inter i.e "They treated it like it was more of a profession than a hobbie"...lol it is a profession at that level. It's not a kick about in the park, he's getting paid to play football and paid huge amounts. If it's not a profession he's been unemployed throughout his whole life...but still been given millions.
@@cddb5408 He's being very polite. What he's really saying is that in Italy they don't care about playing good looking football as long as you get the results, think of Mourinho. But for a purist like Bergkamp that kind of style would be very oppressive and limiting.

Germany didn't win the world cup because of Özil and Özil is a great midfielder, possibly the best passer alongside Messi and De Bruyne but Bergkamp was a different animal
No one person these days can decide a football match, let allone a whole tournament. There are lots of weak national teams that have one or two great players in them but there is only so much they can do when the defence isn't up to standard. Jari Litmanen was a great player (injuries aside) but there's no way Finland would ever win a world cup just because he played in it. Maybe 40 years ago that was still possible but not anymore.

Only thing that might stop him form becoming manager at arsenal is his phobia. There is so much travelling in modern game specially in Europe. Lets hope he can return to arsenal in some capacity for he is very intelligent.

Now speaking from a life long "Spurs" fan perspective,if ur being honest observing Bergkamp was like looking at a"Thorough Bred"Race Horse..There are good horse's but very few who win the Classics in Europe or the "Triple Crown,in the U.S..Of course i never wanted him to perform well against Spurs(which he did)but otherwise he was a player who anyone who enjoys the Game would look out for..A pure Football Genius..
If I could choose a time to go back to that I previously enjoyed watching as a neutral it would be this man at Arsenal. Magnificent.

You are right but he was fast as well. He said he was not a good dribbler but I think he was but never really explored that area. With his technique and speed, he could have been great at that as well. He focused more on passing and controlling and looking for space and at that he was the best. I am convinced that his personality has caused that he is not often mentioned as one of the best in comparison with the likes of Zidane or C. Ronaldo. I think Bergkamp is especially loved by people who really appreciatie the subtle things, his touch, his vision and his inability to score ugly goals.
