    It wasn't just the fact that he seemed to be able to see through walls and around corners, but the weight and angle of the through balls were just other-worldly. Strikers very rarely had to even break stride. What a player the non-flying Dutchman was. Thank you Dennis; it really was a 'Bergkamp Wonderland' while you were a Gunner.

      You think? I think Messi and Ronaldinho at least have vision and passing skill/range as good as Bergkamp's, but there's something about the way Bergkamp passed that made it seem so effortless and elegant, like his composure gives it an additional level of aesthetic flair polish.

      @neilbaybutt759 Před rokem +1

      @@eureka0107 I would say Messi and Ronaldinho were certainly more flamboyant with their individual skills and no top defender could ever stop them but their skills were more of an individual. Brilliant I agree. Bergkamp had a vision to see things no one could see. His pass to ljungberg v juventus just one of many assists that maybe go unnoticed. For skill and achievement then it's Messi Maradona Ronaldinho etc all day but for that something else , I'd have Bergkamp. Breathtaking at his best without the exceptional flair the aforementioned South Americas had in abundance.

    5 to 10 players right in front of him. And Dennis just puts the ball in regardless. This man is the most skilled football player of all time. He was afraid of flying...refused to get on an airplane to play for the Netherlands. If he had people would still be wondering; What the Hell just happened???? Oh, Dennis Bergkamp just destroyed us with that skill.
    Ian Wright, Thierry Henry will admit it. Without Bergkamp we would be nothing!

    His personality didn't let him be the best ever, however he's the most elegant player ever!!!

      There were several players of equal elegance: M. Laudrup and Zidane comes to mind.

    I remember some interviews with current dutch pro's at Ajax who'd just sit on the sideline during practice watching him pass and receive the ball flawlessly every single time even today. They'd realize how important the basics were.

    The vision and the weight of pass..... Incredible. Some great players on the end of them too, to be fair. Great times at Highbury.

    Bergkamp and Ljungberg. The dynamic duo!
    The early 2000s was a good time to be an Arsenal supporter!
