  • In this video I share my 3 reasons why I think some people don't get better or struggle to see much improvement from PPPD or Chronic Dizziness.
    Remember healing is possible for everyone and no two people with PPPD are the same. Can you relate to any of the reasons I explain in this video? What steps are you taking to change this? Remember to focus on the solutions 🙏🏼

    This is a great and really important video. I’m right at the point of starting neuroplasticity and know how important it is to embrace my symptoms and accept them. As I simultaneously try to adopt positive feelings of how I would like to feel. I think for me and so many people the anxiety and fear are so ingrained that it makes it more challenging. But I think I’m understanding the principles of plasticity and the road towards healing that I’m taking my first steps towards.
    I can’t tell you enough of just how much I appreciate what you are sharing! Thanks 🙏 again! 🙂

    All those VRT have nil effect on my brain. As you'd mentioned, allowing it to pass without being alarm is the best trick. Unfortunately, we have to do this at least twice or thrice a day! I'm healing..very slowly though!

    Started getting these 'spells' a year and half ago and it has taken all this time to diagnose it as PPPD. I have a rehab guy and he has mentioned some of these things. But is it so hard. THey are scary, and bad, and depressing, and all those and more. It is very hard to be upbeat and be neutral or positive. I can't go out - am afraid to go out - get dizzy and fall and get run over by a car. Can't drive. Scared all the time....... Fixing it seems so easy but it is NOT..... What do I do? Now after them (daily) I get terrible headaches. Didn't used to get them....

    Hi, I have a few things I don't quite understand, I need your help. The first is in the second reason, when I sit down with myself, do I need to feel the dizziness or just feel the emotion? because I find that if I pay attention to the dizziness, it will make the dizziness more intense. does this strengthen the connections in my brain? The second question is that I find it difficult to sit down with my feelings because I get so caught up in those thoughts and feelings that I forget that I am meditating. Can I watch my breath instead? Btw, i'm sorry for my english.

    Hi what specifically do you do for your Neuroplasticity. Are they certain exercises?

    • @balanceyourlifenow1651
      @balanceyourlifenow1651  Před 3 lety +5

      Neuroplasticity is a combination of things. How you change your response to the dizziness is an example of Neuroplasticity (which is covered in this video: 3 reasons why some people don't get better). Neuroplasticity will happen when you start focusing on how you want to feel e.g. calm, balanced, stillness. Every time you can feel into how you want to feel will strengthen the connections in the brain. So do things that make you feel how you want to feel. If you are referring to vestibular exercises, some people find them helpful but others with PPPD did not (I never). Work with your vestibular therapist to create specific exercises to retrain your brain (3rd example of Neuroplasticity). Remember that it's not what exercises you do, it's more about how you feel while you do them. If you feel dizzy, overwhelmed, anxious, they are the wrong exercises for you. Reach out if you need more support ❤

    Amazing video!
    [my symptoms started 2 months ago]
    Can you remember if you’d experienced any feelings of fullness in your ear during the first few months of your symptoms?
    My right ear will ‘flutter’ and feel as if the pressure fluctuates really quickly when I hear loud music. (Happens within a few seconds then stops)
    Also, do your symptoms progressively get ‘worse’ or do you feel then more as the day goes on? And do you feel them more intensely when your eyes are closed?

    • @balanceyourlifenow1651
      @balanceyourlifenow1651  Před 3 lety +3

      Hey, yes i did experience all the things you're describing. It's OK though and its normal so try to just observe what you're experiencing and know that it will go away if you give it less of your attention. I also got worse throughout the day too, but please remember we are all different 😊 eyes closed exercises are actually very good for recovery because it means you can't use your eyes to balance and have to use the other parts of your balance system. So something for you to practice if you can, just know your limits and be gentle. Close your eyes, feel the dizziness, don't be alarmed just allow it and it will pass.

      @balanceyourlifenow1651  Před 3 lety +1

      Choosing a task you enjoy and allows you to feel more how you want to feel. Focusing on cultivating and feeling your desired emotions is an example of Neuroplasticity. Often when we engage in a task we enjoy, we notice symptoms less or they can even disappear at times. In time as you turn your attention to other things you become less focused on the dizziness and this can help you to heal

    Were your symptoms ever worse just before your period started, or during your period?

    • @balanceyourlifenow1651
      @balanceyourlifenow1651  Před 3 lety +2

      At times I thought yes, but there were also weeks and months when I just felt the same with no relief no matter what time of the month. It is possible that your menstrual cycle can affect symptoms due to the hormonal and slight temperature changes, so this can be true for some people. It's all very manageable though once you get to know your own body

    • @balanceyourlifenow1651
      @balanceyourlifenow1651  Před 3 lety +2

      It's never too late to start. You need to get to the root cause of why you're stuck. Is it emotional blockages, do you have the right vestibular exercises to do, are you exposing yourself gently to things that trigger you, are you responding in the correct way to your dizziness trying your best not to be afraid etc. I would urge you to learn about Neuroplasticity and take it one day at a time. You can get better from this and healing is possible. Reach out if you need support

    • @balanceyourlifenow1651
      @balanceyourlifenow1651  Před rokem +1

      This is a really good question. So we must change our perception of dizziness and not be afraid. If we are afraid that's when we really need to lean into the dizziness, feel it and learn to feel safe and ok when we are dizzy. Otherwise it's best to try and focus your attention on other things, things that bring you your desired emotions. What you focus on you get more of. Try not to keep checking for symptoms, lots of people always worry about how they will feel when they go somewhere, "will this place make me dizzy" "will my dizziness get worse if I do XYZ". Basically if you have the tools required to deal with dizziness when it worsens and you can not be afraid, you are less likely to keep checking for symptoms and therefore no need to focus on it. I hope that makes sense ☺️

      @@annak9299 absolutely, still dizzy asf. Nothing changed XD. I don't believe in recovery without an exogenous event (i.e a specific diagnostic and medical intervention). I don't want to be pessimistic but neuroplasticity will work only if your underlying problem will allow it to. If the underlying problem comes from an autoimmune disease like dysautonomia (in my case), and other known or unknown damage on the body it it can only go away or fade out if the underlying thing goes too.
      People that recover from pppd recover because their underlying condition or problem is also resolving or has already resolved and the pppd is the trace left behind but shouldn't last for long.
