first time watching LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL movie reaction

I’m very happy that David Dastmalchian got a starring role, do you totally deserve it, and what a great movie to star in
I think the audience did see what we saw at the end. The ritual needed to be witnessed to be effective, and at that point Abraxis was shown to have “climbed” in to everyone’s TV through the static. The melting “Station Difficulties” wasnt some weird glitch, I believe it was showing that the occult effects were now affecting everyone at home, putting them into a mass hypnosis that went beyond the television and into a real illusion (thus the loss of aspect ratio) The audience snaps back at the same time Jack does.
I also believe that this “documentary” probably only made the problem worse as well all saw the ritual too. So it could be that Abraxis came through OUR TVs to show us Jack’s truth: he gave up his wife for ratings.
This movie did a great job at making me feel like I was a viewer of this show and it just had an unsettling vibe, was terrifying watching it in the dark on my own
Best horror movie, so far of the year. I just love everything about it. Its indie and the actors are amazing and make it a great film. The production design , so good!
What if Wriggles hypnotized the audience into seeing Jack's sins?
I think maybe the aspect ratio changed for the last scene because it was no longer part of the broadcast or behind scenes footage. We were seeing what Jack saw. I think the demon hypnotized him or maybe even possessed him for a bit. 🤷♀️ I could be wrong.
I think you are 100% correct!
So glad to hear you say what you did, because I felt the exact same way. The final scenes shattered my immersion in everything that had come before.
I've had other people--and seen other reactors--make arguments to justify it. And sure, it's possible to come up with your own head-canon to do so, but having to make stuff up to fix a problem that didn't need to be there in the first place isn't the sign of a well done movie.
The rest of it, as you also said, is fantastic. Really top notch, especially given the limited production resources. I just wish it hadn't stumbled on the landing.
I watched it immediately when shudder released it and i loved this movie it really made me feel like i was in the audience ! Kinda got confused at the ending though ngl
I Love the fact that you're drinking a Grape NOS! That's the official drink of the supernatural. 🙏
I need a part 2 for this movie
The guy your thinking of is John Edwards xD
Imagine people sitting at home watching this and just see it cut to stand by and is just saying to themselves " guess we're not getting that sequel😐"
Great to see another reaction to this fun and well made movie. I 100% agree about the ending, it's not bad but it doesn't add enough to justify breaking the format. Still it will be a Halloween favorite going forward.
I totally agree with you that the ending was a let down! And yeah, I think if they didn't spoon feed us all the backstory, it would actually be so much creepier. LIke a puzzle we the viewer can put together if we watch the movie several times.
Thank You. I said the exact same thing about the ending on other channels and of course some dorks couldn't handle a different opinion than theirs.
I thought that demon was going to go into some psychological warfare on the panel. That would have been fun to watch. At least I got a good chuckle out of that teen Ghost Rider bit they gave us, that was gnarly lol
Loved loved loved your reaction to "Immaculate." Liked, subscribed. Greets from Copenhagen.
PS: I totally share your opinion of the end. A bit "high school play" for my taste, and indeed, it broke the immersive feel of the first two acts.
You were able to put into words something I've been unable to express about how I feel regarding this movie. I absolutely loved so much of it, then, it just goes somewhere...odd.
I was so convinced before seeing this movie that it would knock my socks off, (like how 'Talk to Me' was everything I could ever want in a horror movie even AFTER all the massive buzz. That movie is now a full-on favourite.). But, well - you know.
Great reaction!
Great reaction to this new horror movie it captures the essence of the 70s perfectly. 11:08 11:38 12:53 13:27 13:35
Wait till you see "In A Violent Nature"

Meeting personally demon who you sacrificed your own wife probably wasn't good idea.
I'm with you. This movie is amazing! Except for the ending... I mean, it's not a complete disaster, but to me they really couldn't deliver a satisfying payoff. Also, holy shit, most of the digital effects are just so bad (that ghost wife?! Ouch...) But that said, I really love the movie. Everything before the last 10-15 minutes is pure joy. And David Dastmalchian is just the best!
Maybe the effects are based around the 70s effects
The ending disappointed me too
