I've always felt that this movie is a perfectly 'Merican answer to everything that's super British about Shaun of the Dead. Not the same plot at all, but they're both highly detailed depictions of a country's idiosyncracies surviving and even shaping the zombie apocalypse.
I tried rewatching SotD and it didn't hold up very well.
Ooh I love that take! Never thought about that before but you're right😮
@@beestingza I've rewatched many times and it holds up really well in my opinion
Look at the big brain on Brad!
Haha, that is most insightful, love it
Shaun of the Dead reminds me why I find Brits to be insufferable.
The Bill Murray cameo was originally supposed to be Patrick Swayze, but he sadly passed away before production. Woody Harrelson is good friends with Bill Murray after their time working together on the bowling comedy Kingpin, so he called up Bill personally to fill in the role.
Also, Bill regretting Garfield is a funny joke but also real. He voiced Garfield in the live action/CGI movie, and he admits that the sole reason he signed on for the role was because he mistakenly thought that one of the Oscar-winning Coen Brothers was one of the producers. He only learned afterwards that it was a totally different Coen. The movie was a bomb and he personally regrets his involvement in it.
I feel like bill murray worked out better.. Her going "ahh he just gets me y'know" after he dies just wouldn't be as good with swayze
@@crumblebee6728 the entire cameo would have gone quite differently i'm sure, no reason to assume the lines would be the same. Do you also think they would be watching Ghostbusters in Patrick Swayze's home theater???
@@AMediumSizedKodiakRoad House
What's kind of ironic is that Lorenzo Music was the voice of Garfield in the cartoons. He was also the voice of Venkman on the first season of The Real Ghostbusters. However he was fired after the first season (rumors states Murray was involved).
Easily the worst movie he has ever done.
Zombieland 2 is very well done. A total must watch. Please watch ❤❤❤
I think it was a better film coming from the first one
@@bioshock6935 Really? I thought it was pretty lackluster, myself. It felt like they were trying too hard. It's an okay movie, but I still prefer the first one to it.
@@Necro616 I felt that way from the first film it was basically doing the same thing find car get stolen find another car again got robbed by the same people 3 times this happens not that much of an interesting story and the jokes wasn't that funny. But for me the second film had better characters especially the girl with the blonde hair with the pink top made it a more funny film and the jokes landed for me alot better
Tallahassee paints the number 3 on the side of his vehicles because that was Dale Earnhardt’s number in NASCAR.
I thought it was because his son was three years old
@@tonysmith5504 Nope. His son appears much younger than three years old to me. Anyway, the filmmakers confirmed it was in honor of Earnhardt, explaining why it was written on doors of vehicles and nowhere else.
Long live The Intimidator!!!!
Thanks for sharing, I often wondered why the number 3.
Dale Yeah
Fun fact: they originally wrote Zombieland to be a TV show, that's where "Zombie kill of the week" came from. But, they changed it to a movie at some point.
They filmed a TV pilot after. I think that's all they filmed. It was here on YT. Dunno if it still is. It's not great.
I agree 100% about Sno-Balls. Best line in the movie…”It’s a texture thing.”
My daughter watched this (unknown to me) with her big brother when she was 2. She's 14 and has never even touched one.🤣 I found out she watched it when her big brother threw some Sno-Balls in the cart and she screamed out the "Where's the f***ing Twinkies?" line a few days later. 12 years later and I still occasionally bust out laughing remembering his "I'm a dead man" look.
it's true....they really do step up their game in Zombieland 2....it's even more fun!!
NEVER thought I'd see the original topped, but omfg Madison is freaking hilarious 😂😂😂
*"Snowballs? Snowballs?? WHERE'S THE F%%%ING TWINKIES??????"*
- My then 2 or 3 year old daughter in a crowded grocery store after her big brother (8) put Snowballs in the cart. That's how i figured out they'd cracked the parental code on their TV. I was in the next aisle and literally on the ground laughing. Seeing my son in the mirror with this waiting for death look as his little sister raged over Twinkies was hands down the funniest sh*t Ive ever seen in my life. 😂😂😂
Wont let me edit, but i wanted to add she's been "Tallahassee" to the workers ever since. Before he passed last year, the owner would give her an individually wrapped Twinkie every time at checkout. Her ear-splitting F-bomb scored her 11 years worth of free Twinkies. To this day she's never even touched a Snowball. Never will. I don't think her big brother's touched one since lol.
@@clevelandcbi - I have to say, that is a Legendary Daughter you have there, wish I had been present to such a masterfully executed line delivery. I envy you Sir. And I salute and respect your choice of reaction, so many people would just go all authoritative trying to discipline a child for using "Bad Language" or criticized your parenting; they're just sad idiots who know nothing, you and the store staff reacted accordingly, well played.
😂😂
You let a 2 "or" 3 year old watch this movie? I call BS.

6:09 Yes, cats are always stretching! It's the obvious right answer (plus cats never sit still for hours in a car) but I've never seen another reactor get that. Count on Kat to know cats. 👍
Does she have one? Would not surprise me ^^
I'm just glad you understood the importance of "the hair thing."
I think that I have decided that you are the best reactor on CZcams. You don’t clutter things up with a lot of useless jibber jabber. You have one of the most expressive faces in the business. You speak volumes without uttering a single word. I absolutely love it. ♥️✌🏼😎🇺🇸
RIGHT?! Her micro expressions speak novels and it’s like I can hear her thoughts in my head 🤣
She's a professional actress. She ought to be the best.
Im going to disagree. I may had well have just watched the movie by itself. I'm guessing y'all just want to watch part of the movie for free and that's why you don't like commentary. I think this is one of her worst ones. She's barely said a word the whole "reaction." Compare that to the scream one and she actually had something to say about the film
@@MrJholshouser41 that’s okay. I never said I was right, I just have my opinion, and in my opinion, you must have needed something to complain about. You’re welcome. ✌🏼😎🇺🇸
@@MrJholshouser41 Wow. Harsh critic. My only criticism is that she cut out some funny scenes.
Sad fact Patrick Swayze was offered a cameo role as a zombie before his cancer diagnosis. His scene would have parodied other Swayze movies like Ghost (1990) and Dirty Dancing (1987). Zombie cameo roles were also offered to Joe Pesci, Mark Hamill, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Bacon, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Matthew McConaughey.
A Van Damme cameo would have been so cool.
For some reason, I thought that Patrick died in like '04-'05 and that this movie came out in like 2012.
"...a delicious, flavorful soup."
A ghoulash.
“Is That how you say hello where you come from” had me dying when i was younger😭😭😭😭
This is one of those movies that is just to fun. Kat really looks super when she gets excited either scared or happy, it adds to the fun of the movie.
Copycat from 1995 is a severely underrated film, even though Sigourney Weaver is in it. Highly recommend! Love your reactions ❤
so well done and never seen any reactions to it
Saw this when it came out in theaters. When Columbus makes the comment about his fear of clowns my friends all had to turn and laugh at me. That's because I AM a clown and have been a professional clown my whole adult life! They joked me for weeks about this movie!
Fear of clowns is rational. Serial killer John Wayne Gacey was a clown.
@@Parallax-3D Barely. He only did that a few times and was never a professional clown. The media just glommed onto that because it was so salacious. That sold a heck of a lot more papers than, "Gay Kentucky Fried Chicken manager hides thirty-three bodies under his house." That would probably a given. Most people would assume a KFC manager would do something like that. Especially those in my area. But a clown? Never! 😛
"Guessing that was not rocket surgery." 😆
I am so happy I’m not the only one who says that!!
I love mixing up aphorisms. One of my favorites is "we'll burn that bridge when we get to it."
I thought I was the only one who says "rocket surgery" and "brain science".
That was funny :)
@@rmhartman I worked for a guy in the 90s who told a customer who had just gotten a great deal on a keyboard that "man, you came out smelling like a bandit".
The slow-mo intro with "For Whom The Bell Tolls" playing is one of the most iconic in film history.
Stop with the most iconic in history stuff. In zombie movies it's iconic.
@@SurvivorBri Nope.
its a super cool, maybe even legendary intro to a movie .... that sadly keeps getting worse by the minute. Im not saying its a bad movie but the intro and the first couple of minutes are pretty much the best in the entire flick
I agree
@@klauskiffer3105 Nope.
My favorite thing about this movie is the scene where Columbus is dragging Garland for being a deserted wasteland even before the zombies. cause i live in Garland and its so true. 🤣
This is actually a rare instance where the sequel is also good. Highly recommend it!
it was although i was worried the new characters would overshadow the originals from the trailer. it was one of the best sequels ever
Madison was an unexpected but hilarious addition. Damn near steals every scene.
*"Zombies eat brains, and she ain't got any!!!!"*
- Kinda funny cuz my son has a huge crush on Zoey Deutch. I've had a crush on her mom since the 80's lol. Dude was an idiot for picking the little drummer boy over her in Some Kind of Wonderful.
@@clevelandcbi agreed she was great
The blonde girl almost steals the show.
That was a pretty funny line about Garland. Even funnier for me because most of the movie is filmed in an area of Georgia that I’m all too familiar with. Actually some of it in the same area that Walking Dead was filmed.
Hi Kat. Im fairly new here. Look forward to Wednesdays now! Great film and reaction, loads of fun as always. Being from the UK, could I suggest zombie horror/comedy "Shaun of the Dead"? Think you would love it? Will leave this comment here and see how many likes it gets for that suggestion? Some might need go look at film first?
One of my FAVORITE movies (up there with Tucker and Dale)... your reaction was PERFECT! Love it. You da BEST!
Hello Canadian KitKat, great to see you!😊 It has been a while. Unfortunately, I had not seen your last couple of films. The sequel that was filmed a decade later, "Zombieland: Double Tap" (2019) is also a good film, with the main cast returning.😉 I knew you would enjoy this one with the kills, colorful list of rules, witty dialogue, and fun cast.😉 Great reactions to this fun end of the world film, Kat!!!! 🎬👏👏👏👏
"I've never been so invested in a smooch" You're such a romantic Kat.
Not even past the intro and ALREADY LIKED.
This is one of my favorite horror comedys of ALL TIME.
'Garfield' was the _real_ horror of this movie :). "Zombieland 2: Double Tap" is great - it's famously one of those "sequels everyone involved wanted to make that kept not getting made for years" so I must admit I went into it with some trepidation but it absolutely didn't disappoint. Well worth a watch IMO.
I think they should make another Zombieland every ten years.
I thought Emma Stone was phoning it in though. She acted like she didn't want to be there.
Being in a Texas theater when this premiered was great.
Shoutout to Garland and Texarkana. 😄
Nice! I watched it at home in Georgia where most of it was filmed. Some where Walking Dead was filmed, coincidentally.
@@Ernwaldo The joke in the comment about Texarkana is it's not far from where they were.
You’re my new fave reactor right now.
I love how you notice everything in a scene. It’s making me pay attention more. Your reaction is so great. It was obvious how much fun you were having! Now the long wait until next week. 🙂
I shall eat some Twinkies in celebration of your reacting to "Zombieland".
You're such a joy to watch Kat. When I've had a rough day at work, i just put on one of your videos, and you brighten my day. Thank you. ❤

Also Jeepers Creepers 1 is amazing. I would watch it too. Fantastic horror movie 😂🎉
Thank you for teaching me a new phrase in English: "That's not rocket surgery."! ;-)
Seriously, another nice reaction to a hilariously awesome movie! The sequel isn't as good as this one, but it is watchable without getting toothaches. So, have fun watching the movie!
32:42 the score should have definitely been ten twinkies out of ten el submarino's!
I don't normally like horror comedies but I absolutely love this movie. For having such a small role, Bill Murray was amazing. Woody Harrelson is always fun to watch. Glad you watched this movie, can't was for Double Tap. Thanks
You ever enjoy a movie kiss so much that you flex your muscles? Kat does. Loved it!
*"American Gothic" (1988). Starring Yvonne de Carlo, from Vancouver, BC (Lily Munster). And "Teeth" (2007). Awesome revenge horror. Or maybe even "Quarantine" (2008), which is a shot-for-shot US remake of the Spanish film, "REC" (2007)*
I just rewatched your Constantine last night
I love your real reactions!
Bear with me here...
Okay, so I just watched my first videos of yours (underworld). Not knowing you, things were moving right along as I was kinda half watching you/ half into my own thoughts. Then you blew. You blew your (her) hair out of your (her) face. "OMG, she's hilarious." As the rest of the video played, your personality was revealed. You, malaidy, are fun, silly, AND intelligent. Subbed with all notifications. I hope you attain all you're hoping to with your channel because it's a treat to watch. Now...on to zombieland.
I grew up in a college town in Oklahoma, and when I was in high school there was a story that Bill Murray showed up to a random OU frat party, didn't announce his entrance to anyone or anything, and just went into the kitchen and started washing dishes and pouring drinks for people. From everything I know about Bill Murray, that story seems to track, haha.

Zombieland 2 douple Tap and some Twinkies are a must.
From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) a vampire horror comedy definitely worth a watch, just over the top!

Zombieland 2 Double Tap is so good. A must watch and fun sequel.

This movie was such a pleasant surprise when it came out for me and a friend of mine. We went and saw it knowing nothing about it and talked about it at work for weeks afterward. Great fun.
I love how you called out the lion stretching before taking down a gazelle line. I've seen lots of reactions in which people agree that they also haven't seen it. (They've also rarely seen footage of large cats hunting to begin with.) Exactly like you said, cats are constantly stretching. I appreciate the brains. (Pun intended.)
Rocket surgery, sweet. I like and use phrase twisties as well. I 110% recommend watching the sequel and the sooner the better while this one is still fresh on your brain... before the zombies get yours. Kat do you have a plan for when outbreak hits? Another amazing reaction.
New to the channel - great content Kat. My recommendation for a horror comedy for you to watch at some point is ‘Shaun of the Dead’ - it’s a British film and is properly funny (and gory)👍🏻

It is such a pleasure to watch your reactions.
My favorite "fun fact" about the cast of this movie/franchise was showcased in one of the trailers for the sequel. After showing them fighting zombies in slo-mo with dramatic, emotional music (being all tongue-in-cheek about the seriousness of the movie), the trailer furthered the juxtaposition by revealing the names of each of the four stars one-by-one... with "Academy Award nominee" or "Academy Award winner" before each name. That's right (and I didn't realize it until that moment) - all four leads have been at least nominated for an Oscar, and yet they all signed on to do not one but two horror-comedy movies where they fight off zombies. I just love that so much. 😄
Amber Heard as a zombie is the real horror of this movie 😂
Well it's a roll close to her actual intelligence.
Getting killed by a toilet lid, prescient.

Zombieland was supposed to be a weekly t.v.show about rules to survive zombies . When they couldn't get anyone to accept as a t.v.show, they made it into a movie .
Thanks to your wonderful reaction video, I was finally moved to Google the meaning of “raison d’être”.
