    I installed the PAC Audio kit in my 2012 Camaro, and have noticed the FM signal is pretty bad now with the new radio. The kit comes with an antenna adapter that looks like the one you showed with that round thing on it, and a remote turn on wire. I believe it’s all hooked up correctly. I have read others having the same issue.

    I have a 2006 bmw 325xi with hifi. I'm trying to install an aftermaket headunit that simply says to connect the blue wire from the aftermarket harness to the blue wire on the stock harness. There is no blue wire. I believe, in my system, the antenna wire is also the amp control wire and is black (not "white" as some other forums suggest). I've read that I need to cut the black wire from the amp in the trunk and leave it disconnected and the antenna will then function. But, isn't this going to disable the amp?

    Hi. I have a vw passat and I have a weird issue after changing the head unit to an aftermarket one. When the car is off (no acc/ignition) the radio has great reception but the moment I turn on the key to acc or switch the car on the reception dies completely. I have received the antenna amplifier but even after installing that it's the same. Any help will be great

    Got a question for ya. I got one of these boosters for my e46, but what goes in the middle? What I mean is, the clip on one side plugs into the radio, but the other side doesn’t have the connection end that will fit a German car. The factory plug for my car is a little sideways slide in clip. It needs a female clip similar to what is on the back of the radio. What is your solution to this because that’s what I’m up against? My radio came with the solution, but going that way the wire sticks out to far, hits the firewall, and doesn’t allow the radio to slide all the way back. The wire that came with my headunit plugs into the radio and has a connector that fits the big female end, and then allowing the other end to plug into my existing factory plug. Like I said, it won’t work though and I’m not sure if you can even orintate in that way or if there is a certain direction the flow has to be. Haha, I tried to explain as best I could without showing you or having maybe proper wording of the wires and such.

  • @peterschannelpeterbarbati1540

    O.K. but how do you provide power to the german antenna so you can use it in the new head unit? Do you provide separate power from the amp turn on wire or another 12v switched source? Is the antenna signal then fed through the outer part of the connector (12v inside lead, signal from where and is shield also ground?) thanks

    Hey guys, I am hoping that you have experienced the issues of poor sound audio from Toyota's JBL Premium Greenedge stereo head unit installed in several of their vehicle models including the 2017 Camry XLE. (This is a stock unit with no modifications.)
    The issue: While set to FM / AM, there is almost no bass, and their sorry excuse for an EQ makes almost no meaningful changes in treble or midrange levels. This is a widespread problem affecting several model years, from around 2014 to present.
    Using HD or XM radio signal and playback on CD player is somewhat better, but not great and listening to any regular AM / FM signal is dismal at best.
    Is there any chance you guys have a suggestion or a fix for this? Any tips on fixing this flaw would make all late model Toyota owners EXTREMELY GRATEFUL! Thank you. JC

Is not problem of the battery because happens the same with the second key... Some weeks before this problem , one fusible burned 2 times and did it stop working the window and central lock and key command. I suspect that it burned after I closed the bag door! But I fixed just after change the fusible. But now, just the key command is not working... I suspect that it could be the diversity antena. But almost dismount my car to find where is it... I have a 2006 QX56 Infiniti

    Purchased it and had it installed and it had very no reception on FM and AM channels the stereo shop tried and amplified antenna aftermarket did not work then they tried using my current antenna on my vehicle that didn't work either.
    Did some research on the settings it was set for European so I set it for USA setting then I got some type of reception but not as clear
    Can you guys help me with this issue.

    FM car radio does have problems in areas where there's lots of hills trees buildings and structures and because of these, you tend to get distortion or hissing especially stereo stations. FM also depends on line of sight. A good plus with FM is that reception doesn't suffer at night from continental interference and the quality is better.
    AM car radio doesn't suffer the problems of FM and is more suited to built up areas, hills, mountains, and built up zones, but is not as good quality, and after dark, because of skywave propagation, you hear foreign stations on top of what you are trying to hear and signals may fade and / or distort horribly.

      STEELTXGAL hey these guys are for sure a big help . the biggest question you want to ask yourself is what you want from your headunit and how much can you spend . then you want to look at your factory headunit/radio and see if everything will be compatible with your new head unit. the reason I say this is your car might have a bose sound system with 1 ohm speakers but your new headunit would output in 4ohms . just did my 2004 maxima with bose got a new nex4200 and I got everything to work except HD Radio . look on Crutchfield for your headunit and they will tell you everything you need for the install

    You will not receive AM as there will be no ground which AM needs.

      Eddie GTO yes it does suck, depending on the plug you have there is an antenna turn on that needs to be connected. It is a yellow red wire in the factory harness.

    My reception is worse with these cheap ebay power antennas, I also have an aftermarket headunit in my Skoda which is a double Fakra antenna. I've tried a few of these and reception is always bad. The stock headunit never has an issue with fm reception.

      Jorge Gonzalez there is a blue or blue white wire in the Ford plug that may need to be connected. Sometimes in the fords the antenna is real short in the dash and does not make god contact. We have to sometimes add a 12 inch extension on to it to make it reach.

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  Před 7 lety

      chupamishuevos303 it could be a bad antenna adapter, there is a little pin in it that bends. This happens most often. There is also the possibility that there is an amplified antenna. The Blue wire in the harness may not be connected.

    why do all car audio people have the same look

  • @davidperry4013
    @davidperry4013 Před 4 lety

    If in doubt, leave it stock. Many newer car stock head units have excellent sound quality and consider line output converters instead of an aftermarket stereo. As for most cars 2006 or older, an aftermarket stereo will significantly improve the overall sound quality. My Camry is a 2015 and the stock head unit is very nice so I am going to leave it stock.

  • @davidengland8799

    My solution is far more simple. These units are WiFi so I’ve downloaded a radio app and use this. It doesn’t lose signal whilst on the move and your not restricted to region. Uses data from my mobile phone and the only mistake I made was leaving hot spot sharing on for two days. Stole almost a gig off me. Remember to turn it off.
