    Hi,i got a question for you.
    I have a kenwood dnx8220bt,and i a little bit confused how to hook up the antenna wire.
    I have 2 blue/white wires(1 wire in 1 pin,and the other wire right beside it in the other pin) that comes out of the wiring harness from my kenwood radio.
    The first wire is a total connect from the plug to the iso (female) connector(no functionlabel on it),and the other one is a short wire(not plugged to anything) but has a label on it that says its a"ant cont".
    Which of those to wires i have to connect to the blue wire(with label "ant rem")?
    I dont have a motorized antenna,and no aftermarket amp installed.
    I only have a factory amp.
    Please help me.regards

    My car has a power antenna, but I’d like to listen to more than just the radio. My wiring harness for this car has a blue-white labeled for “AMP TURN-ON” and a solid blue labeled for “POWER ANTENNA.” But, my head-unit only has one blue-white cable.
    I’d like to have both the amp for digital audio and the power antenna work. Which wire should I connect to the blue-white on my head-unit? Should I connect both? The manual for the head-unit says it’s unnecessary to connect anything to it, unless you have a power antenna. But, my harness has both cables, so I’m really confused.

I just recently discoverd the blue-white (amplifier) and blue wire (antenna 12v) on the back of my unit (i know :) i'm a newb). So my question, i dont have an active antenna in my ford focus '08. Can you please help with the wiring for a Pioneer FH-X731BT?
    The Pioneer harness has a blue and white System Remote wire.
    The Metra 70-5520 harness has
    Power Antenna Blue wire.
    Amp Turn On blue and white wire.
    Amp Ground black and white wire.
    Which one on the Metra harness does the Pioneer System Remote wire go to? Ive heard the System Remote wire is for Amp Turn On and also for Power Antenna.
    The Metra harness has a Orange Illumination wire and a Orange and White Dimmer wire, the Pioneer only has a single Orange and White wire.
    This is for a 2006 Sonata *without* the factory amp and subwoofer. No other amps are being added, just the radio to the stock door speakers and front door tweeters and has a antenna in the back window glass.
    I had to buy 2 Metra harnesses and take the Yellow memory wire from one harness and put it into the larger empty slot on the other harness that I will be using because that will match the slot on the cars (Sonata) factory harness where the Power Antenna goes. At least that is what I have read I should do.
    The Metra harness also has a Brown Phone Mute wire, which the Pioneer does not have.
    The rest of the wires on the Metra Harness and the Pioneer harness seem to be the same..
    8 wires for the speakers.
    Red ignition.
    Yellow Battery.
    Black Ground.

    • @Lesscoelectronics
      @Lesscoelectronics  Před 7 lety +2

      blu/wht goes to blu/wht
      amp ground blk/wht goes to black (ground)
      blu (p.ant) is not used on almost all cars older pre-99
      org will lower the radio lights at night (with parking light switch turned on), org/wht is a variable dimmer and is on really old cars

    • @ROTLD-pr1en
      @ROTLD-pr1en Před 7 lety

      To answer my own question, if someone might need the answer:
      FH-X731BT to a Metra 70-5520 for a 2006 Sonata (no amp or subwoofer)
      On the Metra harness..
      Tape or cap off the blue AND the blue and white wire
      I bought 2 Metra harnesses and I took the Yellow memory wire from one Metra harness and put it into the larger empty slot on the other Metra harness that I will be using, because that will match the slot on the cars (Sonata) factory harness where the Power Antenna goes (need to turn on the rear window antenna). If you do not want to buy 2 harnesses, you might be able to use one of the blue wires that are capped/taped off on the Metra harness, but the open slot is larger than the slot with the blue wires.
      After that all the other wires on the Metra harness and Pioneer harness all match up according to color. The exception is the Orange on the Metra harness goes to the Orange and White on the Pioneer harness.
      The Metra harness package states the color codes for these wires BUT the Metra harness does not even actually have them on the harness.
      Brown phone mute
      black white amp ground
      orange and white dimmer

      @@Lesscoelectronics I'm using only the Blue ant wire on the same 3 pioneer car stereos on 3 cars i have BUT, My Belva 10" sub kit I got from ebay is draining my battery when it sits on one of my cars a 1973 Ford Pinto. when I pull off the big red power wire from the fuse that comes with the kit mounted near the battery my meter drops, so I know it's the amp drawing power while the car is off. I even removed the blue remote turn on to see if that was letting it draw power, with the blue wire off it is still drawing power from the battery, just a little enough to drain after a few days. It's just pulling a very little amount of power to drain my battery over a few days of car sitting.

    • @uconnkoala
      @uconnkoala Před 5 lety

      I had/have the same problem with my NX404 and a Lexus RX330 with a TYTO-01 interface. I did in fact connect up the ACC, and it worked for like 3 years, and then all of a sudden that stopped working. My problem only occurs when I crank the car, and the radio goes on and off....So I'm actually thinking it's a timing problem with a voltage drop to the amp, and subsequent turn on....almost like there is a signal mismatch that confuses the amp. I am troubleshooting it today, and am thinking of putting a capacitor in serial with the line, to keep the voltage high while cranking. Will let you know!

    • @uconnkoala
      @uconnkoala Před 5 lety

      Capacitor in-line didn't work. I'm thinking of just getting a turn-on delay module like an NVX XTRI1, which adds a 2 second delay.....I think that might fix the timing issue.

    oh, if anyone needs to know HOW to set any car amp up, for exaqmple NOT IN A CAR, and without using a car stereo/cd-player, but, perhaps, with for example a laptop earphone audio output, or ANYTHING, do this:
    IT IS SO SIMPLE
    1. make a BRIIDGE: cut a 3-4cm length of wire. insert 1 end into "supply",(on the amp power inputs) and the other end into "remote".
    2. insert "+" wire from battery into "supply" 3. insert "-" wire into "ground" BINGO!
    it is safe, and SOUND!

    Kind of a stupid design really, put in a CD or a DVD and the power antenna goes down? Why not just keep the damn thing up as long as the unit is on?... or am I overlooking something here? Can't imagine having the antenna constantly going up and down anytime you change modes. My unit has only the blue/white wire, but the manual states it can be used for either a remote amp turn on, or a power antenna... so obviously it stays on until the unit is powered off. This is a freak unit here... Lol
