    Thanks . It works very well. It is nice of you to have the video.

    Worst way to connect wires. Using tape and loose wires without connectors in car applications is exactly the way you shouldn't be doing it. However, glad to see the ampilifier works. But the blue cable, as you said, powers with 12V. If you have an accident or the tape goes loose, connects the chassis, then hope your fuse fires early enough.

      +LordDarthNihilus Hi there, you are perfectly right, but the above video is just to demonstrate the amplifier replacement and fix. The car had it's head unit stolen and some of the connectors where striped. The complete repair includes soldering and two layers of heat shrink tubing covering the joints.

      Hi, can you tell us what exactly would happen if tape goes loose and connets the chassis?

    Thank you

    hey, nice video. just have some questions... did it improve your signal? can the radio reach more frequencies with the amplifier turned on? how about background noise?

      In this case the radio did not work at all, no stations. After replacement it worked normal.

    Salut.Am un Citroen C4,iar de 9-10 luni am o receptie ff proasta a posturilor de radio in Bucuresti,cu intreruperi destul de dese si"fasituri" ca in video-ul tau.Da-mi te rog o idee,ce anume sa fac,sau ce este nevoie sa cumpar,ca ma omoara sa nu pot asculta radioul in masina.Eventual un link de unde pot cumpara un amplificator de semnal bun.Multumesc anticipat.Dan.

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  Před 8 lety

      +Shojin187 In my case it was blue, but it's an after market radio also the wiring was partial destroyed after a theft event and a lot of wires where pulled out or broken.

      @@chhunving3776 I know this comment was two years ago but wanted to add in. If you have installed an aftermarket radio and are trying to use the wiring available at the VW radio, you will be hard pressed to find an accessory line. This is the voltage line for powering on the radio when the ignition is switched on. You'll want to bring in your own switched accessory line from the fuse box - my choice anyway. the accessory on at the radio is not a constant voltage supply when powered on but rather a signal "ON" hence causing an on off on off etc....

    the "amplifier" or 12V injector has a blue wire. Where is that wire connected?

      the red wire from the roof antenna guide.alibaba.com/shop/16v-roof-antenna-audi-opel-seat-skoda-vw-golf_4951892.html

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  Před 7 lety

      I think that supplies power (+12V) to feed the amplifier.

      incase anyone interesting for what I asked, I fount black wire from main stereo harness and you should connect it to the new head unit stereo ( blue 12v + antenna ) wire

  • @eyurtese
    @eyurtese Před 8 lety

    It is not the amplifier, that part just puts 12v into antenna line so the amplifier in the base of the antenna can function.

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  Před 8 lety

      Yes and no, there are some active power splinters that also provide basic signal boosting also.

    • @eyurtese
      @eyurtese Před 8 lety +2

      +TechTronic9000 What you are installing is not an amplifier and I doubt there are actual amplifiers to be behund the radio (unless somebody made them to make money by exploiting naiveness of the people) because you won't benefit from an amplifier next to radio. Signal amplifiers must be next to antenna and they are used to overcome the losses in the long cable. If there is signal coming till radio, radio can pick it up, if the signal is so low that radio can't use it, then amplifier also can't amplify non existent signal.(therefore it is useless to have amplifier next to radio)

    Will this help with receiving fm/am stations properly because I just placed a after market stereo in my car and everything works except you can still hear some static on some stations plus now my antenna won't rise up since it's been in any help on that.

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  Před 8 lety

      +Jackiieboii Wang It also acts as a filter for the antenna so it's possible to have an impact on static noise.

    • @chachee15
      @chachee15 Před 4 lety

      One of the blue wires should say remote antenna. You needed to connect that to your radio for the antenna motor to work

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  Před 8 lety

      +alau18 No, it deals with the filter / booster for the FM antenna.

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  Před 8 lety

      +y22dtr1 The round silver case you see on the wire is the radio amplifier and as specified in the title of the video it's the amplifier for the antenna signal.

      That is the piece that makes the ac power not to turn back on the radio and burn it.the amplifier os positioned on the antena în the back od the car man
