the reason they were closing off that one room was because it led to the rooms with the pits, and they didn't want to risk whatever that entity was from getting up there through the hole and attacking personnel.

So they're doing their best to actually somewhat ' contain ' the entity. Though the backrooms may be infinite ( so far ), the Bacteria seems to be sticking around hot spots- hot spots meaning entry points, from the Entry point that's now been sealed off behind a window for safety, to the random points around the backrooms where people have no-clipped into reality..

So, the video about the car falling into the backrooms seems to me to be much more important than just the whole, "Woah, that's really freaky!" bit. Considering that we have seen buildings and in fact, even a section of a small town indicates to me that maybe these structures aren't being 'built' by the backrooms at all but in fact are ACTUAL towns and buildings themselves that have fallen into the rooms. So that weird town that one researcher found may have once been an ACTUAL town somewhere that fell into the backrooms but then slowly mutated into whatever it is currently. Also, considering the inside of the house in the town lead into another section of the backrooms indicates that it doesn't seem to follow the rules of Euclidian geometry, which would actually make navigating and mapping it incredibly difficult, if not impossible.
Maybe that farmhouse that we saw in the earlier videos never used to be a mural at all. It may have been an actual farmhouse from decades ago that has been in the backrooms so long that it's merged with it. If that's the case, that means the backrooms has existed for a LOT longer than it would appear by it's relatively modern look. Especially considering the log cabin that seems to have been 'extracted' from the Backrooms for study.
If real world objects are falling into the backrooms and do actually merge with it based on how the object has been there, it could indicate that the Backrooms itself is in fact an organism of some sorts. Like the entire place is one fungal colony that slowly absorbs anything that falls into it, and the 'bacteria' may be similar to antibodies the entity uses to protect itself from intrusion.

I've always seen the fear of the backrooms not being the " entities" but fear, isolation and helplessness it represents. Being pulled into this place of loneliness with no escape no matter how desperately you try. Everything looking the same but just different enough to be disorienting. Time and self loses meaning. I can see how this mirrors some concepts of the depression and loss of self in the yellow wallpaper in addition to the obvious physical description.

But the issue is that people of our reality are still clipping into the backrooms. So I think maybe the next upload will be years later when Async opens the project back up to figure out how to disconnect their reality from the backrooms reality

    - a woman is trapped in a room of this horrid yellow wallpaper that drives her crazy (people being stuck in the backrooms)
    - she starts to see a shadowy figure moving "behind" the wallpaper (could be the bacteria?)
    - she eventually sort of believes that she was the shadowy figure, and says she got out of the wallpaper (maybe humans get turned into those bacteria things? maybe the backrooms fungus thing is trying to escape or create a world like ours to be "free"

    Personal theory:
I think the backrooms is the minotaurs labyrinth from Greek mythology. Just because it fits so perfectly with the native story. I think the backrooms are leaking into reality due to how in Greek mythology the labyrinth was a huge super structure of endless hall ways and corners with seemingly no exit thus no entrance which is why you will need to open the door to the labyrinth but I assume if the door is open for to long the door expands and makes gaps in reality that objects can no-clip through. The bacteria is the minotaur due to how if people back in those days could see the bacteria they will make a guess of what they are looking at which is a man with a bulls head. And lastly to fit with mats theory, what if the creator of the labyrinth didn't build it but rather program it?
Let me know what u think about this.

You could say this is a different group or something but date in pit falls=same=highly likely its them. Also they had a designated camera man pointing to the fact that they probably dont just have live feed, if they had live feed anyone could be carrying the camera rather than a person designated purely for the purpose of filming. Also regarding the end, they seem to be reinforcing their security because of the recent encounter installing blast doors to the windows and sealing off the path that presumably leads to the pit falls area

I read "The Yellow Wallpaper" for one of my courses in college! (Also it's more of a short story than a book, so it's not a super long read.) Commenter is right that the female protagonist slowly grows obsessed with the yellow wallpaper in the room that she spends of her time in, but it has less to do with yellow wallpaper perse and more to do with the fact that as a woman in the 19th century, you didn't really receive proper mental health care. The author, Charlotte Perkins Gilman wrote a commentary on "The Yellow Wallpaper" aptly titled "Why I Wrote the Yellow Wallpaper." Both are a great read, very memorable and fascinating.
Also, ISBN's don't just relate to a specific story, they relate to a specific edition of a story. So it might be worthwhile looking into the specific edition of the book and reading the introduction to "The Yellow Wallpaper", the specific annotations and notes that accompany the edition. At the very least, since Kane used that specific ISBN, it might be the copy that he read, so it could give us a better understand of what he took away from the story. Or maybe he just used the first ISBN he found for "The Yellow Wallpaper".

I believe they are trying to draw connections with the insanity people can face by being stuck in a place where they only get to look at the yellow walls in the backrooms. The space inside of the backrooms can make anyone go mad by being trapped in such a place they don't belong in. That they can't avoid. They scream and complain to deaf ears, and eventually it envelops their whole being. I am so happy at the parallels I was able to make between these to stories.

If it's inspired by Kane but they didn't work with Kane to make it, it might be better to not watch it, at least until Kane's finished with his videos and GT have come up with what they think is going on.
I think it's similar to trying to keep an arms length between Kane's backrooms and the wiki. I remember seeing quite a lot of people assume things about Kane's backrooms based on the wiki

Sweet Matpat. The Yellow Wallpaper is a dense short story and freaks ALL women out. My class of 84 and just over half of us girls-ugh. Senior year English teacher nicknamed Dr. Doom (he owned the name) because all of his literature choices were depressing (from Shelley to Hamlet to a random poem about a kid accidentally chopping his hand off). For the two weeks we did the story I had empathetic hysteria (the "actual" mental disease being treated), severe anxiety, nightmares and day terrors (for some bizarre reason when the sun hit the junior and senior class walls just right their was a darker yellowish tinge to them) of moving yellow wallpaper and a figure of a woman moving within the moving wallpaper trying to get out, a big factor of what she was seeing in the room with no windows or a form of entertainment. I caught myself and at least two other classmates (girls) have to put their heads down for a few seconds so the walls would stop moving in class for those 2 weeks.

OK so as someone who has literally never even heard of this story, I'm very curious. Why does it specifically freak women out?

    • @sarahsault6494
      @sarahsault6494 Před 2 lety +2

@@Hellknight101 Back in those days "hysteria" was considered a disease that affected women only. All it really was was women trying to do something out of the norm-reading and writing fantasy or scifi or informational things is an example. Usually the "cure" (feminism and time stamped out this whole thing) was 1 of 2 things-the reason vibrators are a thing now, and complete isolation. The lady was locked into a nursery with bad wallpaper with NOTHING to occupy her mind, not even sewing, and nothing going on outside. It starts out by being locked up too. What's worse is no people to interact with for at minimum a year, not even her husband. Now imagine yourself with little emotional control (no outlet) being in this situation and no way out. Empathy can kick you when you're already down and you start to see and feel what its like for yourself.

You know, I was looking back at the “Informational Video” post from a few months ago, and started thinking about the ending. The researcher goes into the big office-like space, and it looks sealed off, almost like we see in this most recent video. Then when they shout “hello”, the alarm goes off, almost as if this is post-seal up done in May of 1990. Not sure what to think of this or if there’s a connection, but just putting it out there
