    Muta PCs with VMs built in sound like a dream. No more worrying (or at least less worrying) about doing the VM gaming thing right. As someone that really wants to switch to Ubuntu but also doesn't know entirely how to properly set up gaming VMs, I would put money into that product as my main rig.

Again though, it’s at least better the employees just find new jobs rather than working for that CEO if I’m being honest

    What really grinds my gears is that this recent incident wasn't a one-off mistake. They've been doing it for a while with no repercussions before it finally blew up in their faces.
    They had countless chances to say to themselves "Hold on a sec, is this normal? Can we do this?" but they never did. Or maybe they just saw they could get away with it and never gave it a second thought.
    In any case, nobody can say the company didn't deserve this. I just hope all the employees will find another (and better) job

      @PHeMoX Před 2 lety +3

      To be perfectly fair, most if not all companies involved in giveaways or sponsoring through 'free shit' will _always_ take into consideration whether you're a mid size to large audience channel on CZcams. They will not give a $4000 PC to a CZcams channel that has only 200 followers. It's really just a matter of making this NOT known in the scummiest way possible in a live event. But trust me, the only reason companies like Meta PCs jumped in to give a free PC was the publicity stunt attention it generates. Not because the channel is 'big enough' for them to give a free PC anyway. In other words, not even Meta PCs would have given a free PC to a channel that small. Let's be honest.

    The worst part about this is the "custom PC" part. Listen; I'm not a very technical person but my friend was still able to teach me how to assemble a "custom PC" in about 3 hours. It's arguably just super sensitive Lego's. You just screw in and plug in components in order. I get that some people are successful enough to genuinely warrant simply paying someone to do that for you; but make no mistake: it is a luxury. The average person just needs to invest a few hours into reading and maybe invite a more knowledgeable and experienced friend over and buy them a night outs worth of food and drinks. You don't need to pay people like this the premium associated.
    Yes. Yes. It's not necessarily that simple. Overclocking* is It's own thing. But that's arguably seperate from basic component assembly. But you know what. Plenty of people would gladly help you with that for a Benjamin. A lot less then what these guys are charging people.
