People seem to be saying "It always happens in korea" or something along those lines, but the fact of the matter is that they just take the allegations seriously and pursue them. Depraved shit like this happens all the time in the state and law enforcement agencies don't bat an eye. You could go to the cops with an entire binder full of evidence and they'd sit on it for years.

The problem in this situation is that everyone needs money. If you think about it, except for the people hurting themself on camera, nothing actually bad happened if all they were doing was sending pictures and videos. Its pretty easy to trick young people into doing something so seemingly insignificant for some money. Especially when they know they will need money for the rest of their life.

Also the red rooms does exists, they don't operate how people think though there are so many myths attached to them, i haven't heard about HD streaming ones as that's probably a myth, but there might exist some with low quality streams, the ones i've heard about is "personalized videos" or "commission" under a time limit if you know what i mean, yes it is that bad I forgot to mention its not limited to SK or JP, it exists nearly everywhere in the world

From what I can remember only two of many involved got their identities revealed. The rest are protected. You won't believe the level of rights criminals have in S.Korea sometimes more than the victims. Reporters would reveal identities of the victims and not the criminals which later were used for revenge by the perpetrator. Watch a Korean news program, everything is blurred. It's not news. Everything is hush hush. I'm pretty sure it's a way for the government to demoralize people. Also apparently a lot of high profile officials are in the room so everything got buried very quickly. I won't be surprised if another nth room is lively active.
