  • Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! The world is in a weird spot and it's times like this we all doomscroll and one of the sides of CZcams that plays into my biggest anxiety is Emergency Alert systems. With these channels still sitting in relative obscurity I always find it fun to occasionally delve back in and see where they've evolved too. Thanks for watching!

Don't worry, hon. I am old enough to be your grandma and this "the world is gonna end tomorrow" nonsense has been going on since forever. You will still be here long after I am gone. The media wants you fearful because that way they control you. The media and corporations control you NOT the government. I love your channel so I won't tell you to get off the internet but don't listen to the news, ignore these doomer channels, play your video games, get outside, talk to your subscribers, and have snacks, lots of nice snacks. And make sure you have a pet. Love you to bits, kiddo❤👩‍🦳

bro in my lifetime alone i saw so many wars done by america alone that i lost count and i saw a bunch of global economic crisis and im only 30. if what's happening now isn't reason enough to get you worried and you chalk it up to media doing media things and say you should just go play your video games instead of giving a flip, is the most brain dead take that one can have. yes we do live under capitalism and everything is happening for and by rich c%nt$ and yes the media will take advantage of situations like this to get those extra clicks but that doesn't mean that we aren't close to the start of a ww3, it literally only takes for another superpower to use this chance and get involved and challenge america's imperialism. i don't think either america or other countries would want it to go that way, cuz as u said everything is run by rich people that only care about money and while war makes a lot of money, total global annihilation doesn't. for that reason america prefers chilling in the back and arming israel and letting them bully the middle east but the thing is israel is way too unhinged and are going way too far and we don't know where this will lead. regardless of where it does though, even if it's not as serious as a ww3, we should stay vigilant and not rest on our fat bums and just play video games without a care in the world, cuz that's the reason those rich people are allowed to do whatever they want and get away with it scot-free.

Im much more agreeing withthe geopolitical theory that we have been living in WW3 for 2 years now and it started with special" operation" of Ukraine. And its continuing to this day as more conflicts erupt around the world.
Its not like people back then knew instantly the moment Germsny attacked Poland that "so what is this, some kind of world war 2?" . It wasnt really called that for quite a while.

    • @junfaa
      @junfaa Před měsícem +19

WW3 has already almost happened multiple times during the Cold war. At one point it came down to a vote by three russians on a submarine on whether they should launch a nuclear missile or not. One of them voted not to so they didn't. 24 is not a lot of life experience. I'm 31 and that's still not a long enough lifespan to use as street cred. If the only factor someone considers is how many times the news has said it and been wrong instead of what countries are currently involved and how often we've been in direct conflict with Iran, they aren't going to have a very measured view of events.

I know it’s wholesome and all to be optimistic, but there are people who think that WW3 will never happen just because of some “global” agreement that prevents nuclear weapons from ever being used. Well, that agreement has been almost a century old.. it’s only a matter of time till a deranged leader thinks otherwise, careless of tradition & heritage.
I mean do you think African Americans are still fighting for their land? It’s been 300+ years, they’ve let go of Africa long ago. Generations go by and thoughts change. And yes, I got a degree in yappanese, so what!

When I was growing up (late 90's to late 00's) I had an unreasonably bad irrational fear of nuclear war. Like I was anxious to an insane degree that, at any moment, the bombs were going to fly and we were all doomed.
The best thing I honestly ever did was just accept it. Like... Accept that there is basically nothing you can do if those bombs start flying. Enjoy life, enjoy the moments you can, because you literally have no control over what happens, besides your personal human experience.
I genuinely think that it won't ever happen. The world is too connected and too economically intertwined. It makes no sense to use these things to ultimate ruin your entire country/civilization for ultimately no gain besides a barren wasteland of a "nation". I think people underestimate just how important money is to these governments as opposed to killing themselves off entirely. Rest easy guys, enjoy life and those around you, otherwise you will just be a mess of anxiety. I know, Ive been there.

Then on the other side we have Putin, another old psychopath that doesn't really care about his people. We also live in the age of AI where it's getting so good that pretty much everything can be faked. In the event of larger scale wars, hackers could easily make undetectable AI footage of anything to manipulate millions of people and even entire governments. It's completely different, yes we had similar situations during the cold war but this is on another level and we don't really know what's to come, it's hard to look at the past, and the way that things resolved and applying it to today.

The scary fact is that the Cuban Missile Crisis was not the only close call. One of the other lesser known close calls was when a Soviet missile detection facility detected incoming ICBMs from the US. Most officers' reaction was to retaliate, but the main person monitoring it had a gut feeling that something wasn't right: if the US was attacking, why launch only a handful of missiles? It then turned out that these detections were false positives due to reflection from cloud cover being misinterpreted as missiles.
And before that, a little known fact is that the USSR was actually the first to develop ICBMs while the US still relied on nuclear bomber planes, which sent the US into panic mode and react by having nuclear bombers fly around the entire US and Western Europe 24/7 to be ready to retaliate at any time. And this inevitably to a few planes with live nukes crashing with the unexploded payload being lost.

That Soviet officer was Stanislav Petrov. He deserved the Nobel Peace Prize more than anyone.
The overall problem with a war scenario with ICBMs et al is that you don't have to be close to die, you've got no usable warning. How far could you drive away? Can you do it when 10,000 other cars around you are doing the same thing? It's a sickening feeling to be a sitting duck. My childhood had that fear lurking in the background that the USSR could launch an attack, and that Reagan was ratcheting up the rhetoric. That went away during the 90s but now it's back again.

The first nuke may be out of nowhere, but nuking the planet would take a few days and news would go out immediately across the planet. If an asteroid is coming the Sentry System would warn us hundreds of years in advance. Other threats outside the solar system are monitored as well and we'd probably have plenty of warning. Plague, poison, environmental crisis, volcanos, all would take time and have some warning window. It's wild how this broke open a many years old memory bank for me. I totally spaced the existence of the EAS niche of CZcams, probably a decade ago, I went through a short period watching some of these channels and their scenarios. So when I opened this video last night in order to have to watch today and popped into the description, it unlocked that world all over. What's funny is for me, the scenarios are never scary to me at all, it's part of the fun because I'm a imagination heavy kind of guy and mind, it's the EAS tones that freak the crap out of me and still at 30 can haunt me at night when trying to sleep haha. That and heart monitors. God they disturb me out to my core like something demented does to most others. It's weird.
For me it was never doom scrolling though. It's simply enjoying the various scenarios and imaging them taking place. Knowing others are doing the same. It's the creativity and logic engines of the brain coming together for so many people at once. It tickles that specialize little pocket of the mind. Funny enough, I genuinely could care or less if the world went to shit, as I just take it moment to moment, when my brain isn't overthinking or over-analyzing shit of course (hopefully therapy will eventually help with that). I don't believe any of the sensationalizing of situations that's been going on either, meaning the whole World War III thing, or the Civil War II thing. I know it's just fear mongering and again baiting people into making it trend and colonize a portion of their mind and thoughts, so to keep them on edge and of course, to drive those delicious, profitable clicks and views. Nothing more.
And that's not to say it can't or won't ever happen, I believe sincerely it is inevitable, as it's human nature and at some point, they people who run the world will take it so far, that the collective of society at large will snap, and then it will be all out bloodshed for sure, though more a global revolutionary war than a typical World War. Alas, it likely won't happen anytime soon because society at large is so dumbed down, exhausted and tapped, making them extremely apathetic, which is why at most they'll scream from their couches at the TV/Monitors, or angrily bicker with their keyboards aflame. The system is functioning exactly as intended to. To exhaust, run us down, ruin our confidence and motivation, make us fear, hesitate and otherwise "accept our fate" as good little obedient cogs in the corporate machine til the day we die., all while constantly bickering with each other, pointing fingers placing blame, judging harshly, and otherwise just living in a perpetually negative mindset and way of being.
Anyway, anyone remember the EAS going off when the March 2011 Fukushima Earthquake happened? How about that 2010 Haiti quake? Ah, good times!

We do heaps of community level response training for emergencies here in New Zealand. It's mostly evacuation training and setting up community response units. But it's worth finding out what your local city or regional emergency plan is for different scenarios. It helps take some of the anxiety out of it.
