I cant really think of anything else expect the Ukrainian people. its times like this people forget the basic privileges we have. As a britbong/scot, I have the privilege of living on an island, thar gives us natural security from ground forces to a degree. never mind security and a home. Its things similar to those small privileges that can change your mindset and outlook on life.

A lot of my friends are from Ukraine, and I am from Russia. This situation is heartbreaking, and I am so worried about my friends. One of them needed to go to the army; another is scary close to shootings that are happening in Donetsk. And I can't do anything to somehow help them.
Now, in Russia, illegal rallies against the war are everywhere. People are beaten and arrested. It's total chaos

I don't think Actors were "the bottom tier" for giving hot takes back then, I think that had more to do with the cancerous studio system that basically existed to screw anyone who wasn't a producer out of getting paid fair, with actors for the most part being near the bottom in the early days of film.
Modern hot-take spewing celebrities I find interesting because they're more isolated from the real world than older actors who you would expect to be as or more out of touch but weren't (good example, Christopher Lee. The man wasn't just born from wealth but was an actual descendant of Charlemagne, and lived quite the extraordinary life in addition to being a great and famous actor, but was by all accounts a very down to earth man).
I mean not all of them but the majority is.

Hi there! I'm from Sweden and we are definitely feeling the ongoing war even if my country is far away from the war zone. We citizens (in my region) have been ordered to prepare for the worst, which means join the military if you are 17 and up, buy more food and save every piece of clothing, listen to the radio (and the EAS) as often as you can and so on. It's truly scary. I'm not afraid of death but many others are and I don't wanna see anyone in pain, nor witness someone lose their loved one.

It's actually not that complicated. Putin doesn't want Ukraine to be "friends" (closely allied) with the west. That's the entire reason he did this. Ukraine can't even make its own decision to join NATO without Putin bombing the country.

Also Ukraine having NATO defense artillery will allow missiles within close proximity of Moscow at any given point.
You don't have to like or defend Putin to see why he obviously wasn't happy with any of this happening, leading up to the recent drastic decisions today.
