Most people just classed Beckham as right wing... This goes to show how he could beast most positions and quite comfortably hit long passes with both feet. Sure this was the full man United team except from Martin keon and David seaman 🤣😂

I remember watching this match live, it was really frustrating, it seemed like England were scared to lose and played everything safe and simple, except for Beckham. You hear about players taking a game by the scruff of the neck and never has been more that case than this match. We had players like Steven Gerrard and Paul Scholes on the pitch and Beckham made them both look like very average players on that day.
They stuck scholesy on the wing though. Made no sense to me
I never remembered Becks having so many sighters that day, but he saved the best til last, just when it was needed - not just for WC qualification but for the perfect script!

Let's call a spade a spade. Beckham was a one trick pony and world class at it - crosses and dead ball situations. But he wasn't himself a world class player. Not in the mould of a Zidane, Ronaldo or Henry was of his generation. He was never going to win a WC or Euros.
