    Great transparency about the importance of mental health supporters in the sport from Richy. Even those at the top need to be checked on and supported at times. No one is impervious to struggle and it’s great to see him give support for others who might also be struggling.

    What ive noticed is Brazilians are emotional and beautiful people who are not afraid to express what they really feel

    You are not weak for going to a therapist or a counselor (there is a difference); you are strong. It takes a lot to acknowledge that you are human and need help. In the African American community, we have the same stigma around mental health that he described. I am glad he got the help he needed. Rooting for him.

      Those are the signs of abuse ... when you forget it's how your mind deals with that abuse. That was abuse from a totalitarian government on the masses, abuse on a global scale and people are still not able to process things ...

      I left the country because I didn't want to be stuck in the uk during lockdown but man when I came back some of my pals were in horrible mental health and only getting back to their normal self now

    Richarlison is a great player, to be a football player is 90% mental and 10% talent. It's hard to wake up every day and stay motivated. Respect for Richarlison.

    Massive respect to him for speaking about this and to also say that going to a psychologist is no big deal and it's a healthy thing to do. It's just a professional person that helps you deal with your personal problems and guides you on your way. They don't magically fix your problems but they support your mental healing.

    Nothing but my upmost respect for this man, if you don't experience these attacks it's so hard to understand, my whole life I felt isolated and felt weak, but seeing this gives me the strength to feel normal amongst my inadequacies, keep going brother!

    Good for him! You already see the difference in his output on the pitch. Complete night and day. No one should ever be afraid of seeking help no matter how strong they think they are or what others might think. You have to walk your own path.

    You could really see the heartbreak and betrayal he went through after the WC. I’m glad he sought help, and telling the world about it helps others. We are only human and going through something dark takes a lot to get through, and talking to someone is just part of the journey to heal.

    So sorry to realise this. The mind is a horrible place to be as a man, the pressure to be always strong is intense. Even when people ask you to open up you are expected to ‘be stronger’. As a man I can tell you to open up is often the last resort before doing something we may or may not regret. Listen no matter how minor it seems.

    I work with people that struggle mentally on a daily basis. This is a very strong message because it´s often a misunderstanding that money fixes many problems. Richarlison being this brave to open up shows that money don´t stop these issues.
