there's nobody quite like joe cocker. his soulful voice and passion have stayed with me since i was very young. this one definitely get turned up every time i hear it. incidentally, i just realized all three of the songs i submitted this round have horn sections....must be what's catching my ear right now. hope you enjoy!
Jō kokkā no yōna hito wa inai. Kare no sōrufuruna koe to jōnetsu wa, watashi ga osanai koro kara zutto watashi no kokoro ni nokotte imasu. Kore wa kiku tabi ni machigainaku moriagarimasu. Tokorode, konkai teishutsu shita 3-kyoku subete ni hōn sekushon ga aru koto ni ima kidzukimashita. Ima, watashi no mimi ni hikkakatte iru no wa soredeshou. Tanoshinde itadakereba saiwaidesu!

You are watching the cream of musicianship in the LA rock scene in 1970. Every single one of those players up there on stage is A list ! It’s not just Joe Cocker ! Chris Stanton on the piano Leon Russell on guitar Bobby Keys on sax and the incredible backing singers you heard. That’s why these shows in the summer of 1970 were so mind blowing
The guitar player wearing the top hat is Leon Russell, a helluva musician in his own right.
Hella of a man!, plays lead guitarist and piano man flawlessly!
A top ten all time live album. Very nice job...
the story behind this band and how the tour was put together and the antics on the road are rock history!!!
Joe Cocker was from my home City of Sheffield in the North of England. I remember going to see him at my local Pub back in the early 60’s. RIP Joe Cocker 🥲
And the amazing thing is that Leon is really a piano player!
All the Mad Dogs and Englishman tour videos are great
One of my biggest regrets is not seeing the Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour when I had the chance. The movie of it is worth looking up if you like great live music.
Joe Cocker and Leon Russel, all you need to know.
Love joe cocker and leons riff near the end lol... joe was like what u got! And leon hit it out of the park!
Hey that’s Bobby Keys playing sax from The Rolling Stones. And Leon Russell playing guitar!
One of the best I have ever seen.
Have to do The Letter from the same tour, Leon Russell on piano on that one. FIRE! Aww, the 70's
Joe Cocker live was the best concerts I have attended!
Joe owns this cover of a Traffic song. Traffic’s version is great too.
That looks like Leon Russell on guitar. If it is I had no idea he could play guitar!
I was one of those lucky enough to grow up listening to Joe Cocker, Janis Joplin Percy Sledge. I had a really cool Mom!! Thanks for the great reaction.
Me too.
Luv how Joe feels the music through his moves watch carefully and he is imagining himself playing all the instruments, drums, piano, bongos, guitar it’s in his soul!
The guy on guitar and top hat is Leon Russel who normally play piano.
Greatest pianoist and lead guitarist lol.
THIS was from the "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" tour in 1970 THERE HAS BEEN NO BAND SINCE THAT HAS BEEN AN AWESOME AS JOE COCKER, LEON RUSSELL AND THE BAND, THE CHOIR, assorted children and family members.... IF you don't believe me, find the DVD of the tour and see it all for yourself.... Would an 81 year old rocker steer you wrong??
Chris Stainton on piano. He looks the same today.
Poor people who only know "You can leave your hat on" from him. He was a true legend!
Maybe Leon Russell live doing jumping Jack flash from concert at Bangladeshi
What a Star 🌟 Joe Cocker is. Hi from Australia.
We can always tell when Suzie just wants to be up there with the backup singers in these older clips. It's all in the eyes.
It’s before disco,for sure
Also leon was the first to rap actually, before blondie, public enemy ext...
Cocker and his band (the grease band) split up just weeks before he was supposed to start a big US tour. He called Leon Russell in Oklahoma and Leon basically put the show together for him. In this video, Leon is the guitar player with the big hat; pretty rare to see him not sitting at a piano.
Great song by Dave Mason and Traffic covered by many including Grand Funk Railroad
You might want to try Canned Heat -Going up the Country Woodstock '69.
Not only is it a great song but you get the added bonus of footage from the Woodstock Festival all those years ago.
The great Carl Radle on bass.
All around great band. And that's the incomparable Leon Russel on lead guitar
Joe Cocker❤❤❤
Became a fan of Joe Cocker way back in 75 when I saw the film of the tour. Managed to see 4 concerts through the years.
Brilliant - glad I grew up listening to the music of the 60s and 70s and not now!
Joe Cocker is unique for sure. That voice and so much soul.
How about Van Morrison, Into the Mystic. Totally different vibe, but worth a listen.
Not bad for a young lad from Sheffield Yorkshire. 😎
LEON! EFin Russell!
A SONG FOR YOU - Leon Russell & Friends (1971)
I saw Joe Cocker live in 1969 and he did this song. I didn’t know who he was at the time but he blew my mind. I was in the middle section, 4th row at Memorial Hall in Kansas City Kansas.
I seen him in 72 at Municipal Auditorium too close to one of the speakers. lol Great show!
Look up John Belushi do his version of the song. Lol!
Listen to the same group do With A Little Help From My Friends - i think it is better than the Woodstock performance - certainly the backup singers are the right ones and Leon Russell is working with him
This a cracking' band...all ALLSTARS.
Hi from Amsterdam.
The first double album i bought in 1970.twelve years old.I worked my socks of on saturdays to save 30 guilders, that was a lot of money those day's.
Those were the day's
One positive thing about being a senior is we grew up with fantastic music 😊
Sorry for the spelling.
Too pound in England classic blues
Cant forget the late great carle radle bass, and jim gordon playing off each other
Closest I've heard to this was by Three Dog Night..........but Joe is the King on this one
Suzi are you still bouncing on your ball that your sitting on good work out with this video love you guys G. T.O
I thought that was Nicky Hopkins on piano! Sorry, Chris.
There aren't a lot of people who created eternal music by just saying "Good morning!" Joe Cocker was one of them.
🔥🔥🔥
Listen to this and tell me the 70's had no "decent" music as many under 30's constantly tell me !!!
❤❤
Cute beast 36
How about Bob Dylan's Rainy Day Women or Everybody Must Get Stoned.
Feel So Glad by Steve Miller Band Please
Cruel pumpkin 13

When music was REAL man..................just sayin'
The start of the big band Era!
