- In this reflective episode, I share my Camino reflections, personal insights, and lessons learned walking the Camino de Santiago (Camino Frances). I faced physical obstacles, but more than that, I rediscovered the goodness in people. I'll admit, it's been a struggle keeping these lessons alive in my hectic Los Angeles lifestyle, but I'm committed to holding onto the compassion I found on the trail, no matter what.
I'm so grateful for the heartfelt comments you've shared on my videos. Please, share your own Camino experiences in the comments!

I couldn’t have said it any better. All that you said is how the Camino was to me too. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
So glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for all your comments! It's wonderful to hear you connected with the Camino experience just as I did. It's such a unique and personal journey for everyone.
I met other frienfs also.

Love your stories, feedback and vivid language!
I loved your Camino, at first I liked your tenderness and enthusiasm, I imagined doing my first Camino with the same enthusiasm and amazement at every step... I will soon do it, this year God willing... but the final reflections seemed to me beautiful, intelligent, very realistic and honest, and full of tenderness and love... thank you for sharing your personal journey with us... I wish you a good path in life!!! God bless you!!!
"I have softened." Thank you.

I would ‘t have thought that a young lady from .Los Angeles had much new to tell me, an old fellow from the oldest world conceivable, but hey presto! you taught me a lot. Many thanks!

Caminante, son tus huellas
el camino y nada más;
Caminante, no hay camino,
se hace camino al andar.
Al andar se hace el camino,
y al volver la vista atrás
se ve la senda que nunca
se ha de volver a pisar.
Caminante, no hay camino
sino estelas en la mar.
Traveler, your footprints
are the only road, nothing else.
Traveler, there is no road;
you make your own path as you walk.
As you walk, you make your own road,
and when you look back
you see the path
you will never travel again.
Traveler, there is no road;
only a ship's wake on the sea.
Antonio Machado
I walked the Camino as an older man, in 2019.
I have thought about the Camino every day, yes every day since.
I often try to analyse what it taught me or what I learned from it. I still don’t have an answer just some pretty vague ideas. However it did make a huge impression on me. Coming from a rural mountainous part of Scotland the scenery was not so novel to me, although the weather was a vast improvement over Scotland. My last impression is of the warmth and friendship and deep sense of connection that I had with my fellow pilgrims.
Well done Jen, and to anyone that bothers to read this or watch the videos, is quite simple. Do the Camino!
Thanks for sharing your Camino story! It's amazing how some experiences stick with us, even if we can't fully explain why. There are still aspects of my camino that I am trying to interpret and understand, just like you said, sometimes the answer never comes but what lasts is the impact.
💜
Jen, you have inspired me. One day I too will walk the Camino. Even if my walk is shorter than yours. Thank you for so generously sharing your journey. So wonderful.
I am so touched to hear that. Everyone walks their own Camino. Of any length you are a pilgrim. I am so thrilled you will get to experience the beauty of the way. Buen Camino
Jen , I think this one of the best Camino videos ,I really enjoyed it , keep up the good work , wonderful and inspiring
Thank you so much for letting me know 🙏
Absolutely amazing and helpful.thanks for sharing your adventure. Guys I recommended you visit the himalayan mountains k2 and Nangaparbat view point from one place moses peak.add this sound in your bucket list.
COMPASSION!!! Jen, I never dreamed that compassion would be the one change in your life on the Camino, but it makes perfect sense!! After watching all the videos you created documenting your journey on the Camino I saw kindness, happiness, smiles, friendship, and selfless contributions. All of these qualities equals compassion. I enjoyed every second of this epilogue and it brought me to tears!! Thank you!
Yes!!! ♥️ I love your comment!!! Thank you so much for sharing 🥹🥹 I’m so touched by your and everyone’s comments here. It’s so special!!
I usually watch your videos on my tv which makes it hard to comment and “like” the video. But I’m trying to come back on my phone and show some 👍🏻. I enjoy watching! This old Kentucky girl has enjoyed your Camino!
That means SO much to me. Thank you for watching and then taking an extra step to return and leave a comment!! I’m so honored to see my journey resonating with you. I’m blushing at the thought of me up on the big screen of your tv ☺️😅
I have written a book.
Regarding my kast day on the Camino...in the last evening in Muxia...packibg.
I put my tracking pokes in the back-pack.
That was meaning that I will not walk.
Because I do not walk with pokes.
And I started crying.
My Camino was at the end.
Painfull.
But...soon after...I hace started to think to the next one.
To make pkans.
And to start my bew book.
Camuno never ends.
I am in tears watching your latest video. It hit home. Thank you for sharing your Camino, Jen.
Thank you so much ♥ It means so much to hear my video made an impact. Buen Camino, Cheryl 💜
Yes...the tears again. I shed so many tears along my Camino. I carried so much excess baggage along the way, and none of it was in my pack. I thought for sure Id leave a lifetime of emotional baggage at Cruz de Ferro , but that didn't happen, but I did learn that I am not my past, and I am worthy. (writing in tears now)Hahaha. I did my walk May/June 23 at 60 years old, and it was by far, the best thing Ive ever done for myself. I'll be back again in May 2024 to walk that magical trail again.
Buen Camino all.
Wow, so much to unpack there, but, yes, yes, and yes, this was timely.
I was just talking this morning how what we experienced was slipping away, and sometimes it already feels surreal, like it didn't even happen. We returned Oct 8th feeling changed forever 😊 now I feel changed, but not so much 😅 forever, we are returning in May booking flights because once u know it's there, how can u not, as a friend I met on the way Jorge, he said and now it begins. Yes I want to get back and visit with strangers who seemingly have a common bond, pulling for each other, it was a a slice of heaven on earth 🌎 while also challenging me to the breaking point on a few occasions, Buen Camino fellow traveler ❤
The Camino is very special Jen. For my family, who walked it in May-June, it is the memories of the places, events and people we will cherish. We experienced so many wonderful things. We all miss the Camino, especially the people. We wonder what they’re doing now, post Camino. It’s just such a simple, but difficult thing, to walk day after day for 800 kilometres! Life slows down and you adjust to the rhythm. Thanks for sharing your thoughts after leaving Santiago…they are beautiful. ❤
Thank you for sharing your heartfelt experience of the Camino! ❤️ I love hearing how the Camino touched your family. I agree - the bond formed with fellow pilgrims and the simplicity of walking day after day is so surprisingly special. You said it exactly - such a simple but difficult thing. I hope your post-Camino days are filled with a similar spirit of adventure!! 🌟
❤ et suseia
Loving the boring is the way to success. I realized it during my Camino. And I learned to count to one. In life, one only needs to learn how to count to one. 🙏 Any more than this is a waste.
It's really true. Sometimes you have to just sit with the mundane, routine days and that's what gets you through. It's a lesson in itself!
Hi Jen, I loved all your videos about the Camino. You are such an inspiration!!! Thank you for sharing your journey.
You are so welcome! Thank you so much for watching & supporting! Buen Camino 💜
Jen! I loved all the videos, but with this one, I truly connected. Thank your for all your reflections, thoughts and learnings… I hope life brings our paths together again, alongside Alfoncito, Ampi, Charlie, and Marco. Maybe in another Camino???
Big hug from Colombia
Hi Paula!! Omg, thank you for your comment. I’m so touched by what you said. Grateful we had the opportunity to meet and share such a beautiful experience at the Castillo… that was one of my favorite memories of the entire trip. Perhaps all our paths will cross again on the Camino, how great would that be??! 😄 sending hugs back 🤗
Such an awesome journey 👏🏿 you went on big accomplishment!!
Thank you so much!! It means a lot to have your support 💜
@@jenontherunn no prob 👍🏿 keep up the amazing work
...your resumes are very beautiful, Jen, and I think very wise - I walked the camino twice, and so can understand what you're talking about... fortunately I made the leap, leaving the big city behind (Berlin) and moved to a landscape a bit similar than the camino (but up in the North of Scotland)... here the people are slower, having more time for each other, even in the supermarkets, and nature is still fairly wide and wild... but nothing can beat the camaraderie of the camino - I think its the shared purpose + the physical stretch, that unifies us so quickly there... some people get 'addicted' to the camino, and I could also see myself walking again one day... 💖
Thank you so much for your kind words! Moving to a landscape similar to the Camino sounds like a dream 🤩 I agree wholeheartedly that there's something unique about the camaraderie of the Camino... I felt so safe along the way, like every person was a friend.
Perfect and well put together summary!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you for the nice and wise reflections
I wonder if you don't longing for the next camino ?
After my first Camino Frances my conclusions have been: god-people -the way.
My second camino was an act of gratitude
Yes I am frequently dreaming about my life on the Camino and how amazing it was to have so much time off work. My job was walking! I’d love to do it again someday, perhaps another route
Nice to hear your thoughts on your Camino experience. Very similar to mine actually. You live it for a month and return to your normal life but I think it’s always there deep inside, beckoning you back. Buen Camino!😊
I'm so glad to hear that your Camino experience was similar to mine. It's a journey that truly leaves a mark on your soul. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
