  • How to Replace a Broken Temp Sensor Thermistor on 2010 Volvo XC90 | 1999-2007 S60, S80, XC70, V70
    Complete walkthrough changing the thermistor on a 2010 Volvo XC90. This applies to all P2 Volvo cars ranging from years 1999-20014. This is how to potentially fix your volvo climate control module if it is too hot or too cold. This will get your Volvo heat or Air Conditioning working.
    You will need an NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) resistor for this. You CANNOT use a PTC Resistor here. Any thermistor will work that is 10K ohms @ 25C. Below is a link to the one I used.

    looking this car 2008 only drawback is no hot heat or cold cooling. your video gives me insight into the issue, with a possible $7 part as the solution. makes me feel more confident about the risk of buying a car with issues. nice job on the video. only showed what needed to be straight forward .even showed we all fumble through new tasks , but it doesn't stop use from doing something just because we haven't before. liked and will check back in again thanks😊

    Thank you for your insight. I will give this a try. Purchased my 06 xc90 v8 used and it came with fluctuating hot/cold air on passenger side only. And it sounds like a puppy grunting. I looked at thermistor and it appears to be missing. Just a wire left. Hopefully this corrects the issue so my passenger doesn't freeze in winter.

    Great video. Can you explain the correlation between the service airbag message and the battery? Curious because I just changed my CEM and now have the message. I disconnected the battery prior. Also, my blower suddenly stopped, now it’s working again! Do you think it has to do with needing a computer reset/camba? Thanks!

    • @matt-diy
      @matt-diy  Před rokem +2

      Thanks!! You will need to reset the computer with Vida. The reason is because of the vehicles CAN network, all the modules are connected to each other and if one is missing the SRS system shows a failure. Also when you changed your CEM did you have it programmed for the car? Sounds like not.

    • @timbermansam
      @timbermansam Před rokem +2

      Thanks for the reply. Very interesting! I’m new to these cars. I sent my failure prone CEM out to Xemodex inc. they pulled the info from it and swapped it over to another CEM. They add a couple of heat sinks to help mitigate the overheating issue. They state it’s plug and play, but I suspect not. So I definitely need to get the computer reset then it sounds like. I just thought it was odd I wasn’t having these issues prior to installing the replacement CEM.

    • @matt-diy
      @matt-diy  Před rokem +2

      @@timbermansam ah okay if you got it from xemodex you are good!! Maybe just missed a plug or something? But if you have Vida you can easilly reset the airbag error assuming nothing is actually wrong.

    • @matt-diy
      @matt-diy  Před rokem

      No, my blower motor was working fine but I believe I did have the temp sensor signal missing. Sounds like you may have a blown fuse or bad blower motor resistor.

    • @Mark-is9dx
      @Mark-is9dx Před rokem +2

      @@matt-diy in the end, I found it was a dodgy multiplug going into blower motor. I saw there was a black residue around the earth terminal.
