I love my Taurus G2C. The trigger is actually one of my favorite features. I love feeling a wall on my trigger and the G2C has a very pronounced wall so I know exactly when the trigger will break and I know I can stage the trigger while aiming. You get an accessory rail, great grip textures, and interchangeable sights and decent round capacity for under $200....bang for your buck bois
G2c @ $199, best gun I've ever owned. I love it.
If it was $100 more we’d be comparing it to a glock, sig, or S&W.
Ppl have. Price doesn’t matter
Right.. And it’s not even worth it at $300.
@@evanacey1414 you’re bugging
Exactly, it's an excellent gun
Yeah but it’s not $100 more for good reason. I’m not a Taurus hater by any means, I’ve been really enjoying watching them put out decent stuff and continue to get better lately.
But theyre just not comparable to more premium brands. Not even a little bit.
You’re not gonna get as nice of features or as proven of reliability with a Taurus. And you will also have a much higher chance of getting a lemon. And people should know that and take that into consideration when they’re thinking of getting one.
In almost all cases for almost all people they would be much better off just saving up a little more money and getting something better.
I love my G2C and carry it every day. Not everybody can afford 5,6,$700 guns. I'm smart enough not to spend huge amounts of hard earned money on a brand name.
Stamp glock on it and it’s $600
Exactly
For me, Taurus G2C is the best budget gun for concealed carry. Taurus G2C is a nice gun for concealed carry. The grips are very comfortable & feels good to handle. It has a decent trigger & very fun to shoot. Actually i have 2 of these. I was aiming to buy a glock 26 but when i saw the price difference, it changed my mind. Instead of buying a glock26, i bought 2 Taurus G2C (Black & Flat Dark Earth). I got 2 guns with a total price thats close to the price of a brand new glock26.
Taurus G2C = $220 @ Brownells
Glock 26 Gen5 = $500++
I’ve been watching multiple yt videos on this gun and I’ve been waiting to see a bad review but I really haven’t. I can’t wait to get mine
I watched a million and one before getting mine.went and got mine.. finally went range other day...LOVE IT
emmanuel escobar ordered mine 3 weeks ago and still haven’t gotten it. This corona is probably pushing it back smh
Yeah I went and got mine right before all this bullcrap started like literally it was the last one left..and there selling like crazy. It also performs great for the price. I paid $250 out the door. And plan on purchasing the g3 here soon
emmanuel escobar yeah idk why I paid 300 here in Texas. G3 is cool but I wanted a smaller gun. I’m replacing my glock 19 cause someone stole it. Ima cry again be right back
Damn that sucks how did someone steal it bro??? And $300 plus tax there tripping
Laughing in 2021 because you can't find these ANYWHERE anymore.
This gun actually gets good reviews for a budget gun
And it seems all the people that can afford $600+ are too good for this gun
Because it is decent for the price. Others, not so much.
@@rannz8 right? Look I'm not saying that Glocks, Smith & Wesson, Springfield and Sigs aren't better because they are. But to say that a Taurus G Series sucks just because it's at a low price point makes you a snob and ignorant
Been really looking at getting this model. Love the video.
Finally a realistic fair review and comparison of the Taurus g2c. I'm so sick of seeing videos like g2c versus the hellcat!??? Like duh we all know which one is better anyone who lives in reality knows that the hellcat's going to be of better quality. But if you're somebody like me who can't really afford to save up money for a Glock or a Smith & Wesson M&P or a Springfield. Canik, Ruger and Taurus really shine for people like us. They give us a somewhat attractive pistol that's actually reliable and accurate for self defense applications. Sure there's some things about it that I don't like but at that price point reliability is all I really care about and that it's not a SCCY🤢 I hate SCCY with a passion. I've never had a Taurus malfunction on me but I have had three separate SCCY break in the exact same way. The pin that hold the frame together back towards the hammer. Those work their way out within the first hundred or so rounds of every SCCY that I have owned. The first and only one I bought I assumed I just got a lemon so I sent It back. But what pissed me off as I sent in an all black model and they sent me back a black model with a stainless slide with a different serial number which tells me they didn't fix the problem they just replaced it with a new gun. And guess what happened about 100 rounds in? The exact same pin that holds the frame together worked its way out. Sent it back to the SCCY again same thing happened they sent me a brand new gun instead of replacing the problem🤢 One magazine in and the rear sights flew off... I laughed it off cuz I didn't expect any better and you guessed it about a hundred rounds in that exact same pin that holds the frame together worked its way out again.
I had a SCCY too, it was horrible. Feed lips on the mags were way too tight, and the rear sight kept popping off. I know I could have used lock-tight but it was still ridiculous. I owned a G2C and sold it for some reason a couple years ago. I’m buying another one off of palmetto tomorrow for $199. It’s a good gun, and it’ll save your life.
I’ll be honest the g2c trigger drove me to almost sell it. That stupid catch from the safety blade. I bought a keep tinkering single action only trigger and its a different pistol. Breaks much farther forward, and at 4.5 lbs. i shoot it better than my glock. No low and left problems during rapid fire.
Awesome opener. Thanks for sharing.
Almost 3 years later, the G2c is still awesome.
Damn near a glock. Basically almost same. Just price.
Nice and fair review. Saw a Guy buy six of these that alone made me want to check it out. More likely I will get the newer version tho
Lake line LLC can take care of your G2C goodies!
the stock g2c trigger is better than the stock trigger on my glock 43x...
Fair review. Guess what? Today you can get a G2C for less than a yeet cannon ($155 after rebate)
Yep bought one from RURAL KING for 184 and Taurus has a $25.00 mail in rebate 144.00 total and they have a 10% discount in house
Yep did that from rural king about 155 after rebate at that point it's a steal i bought a cheap pistol case and locks with the gift card and brought it back with my luggage when i moved states
Those prices have went up I bought one at rural king 6 months ago and I paid 250 went back this month and it’s now 269
@@jameshines9330 yes. Prices have risen. I suspect even on the hi points
Taraus makes great guns, I’ve had many pt models and I’ve owned glock 23 and 32, I’ve had ruger 1911 Springfield xds but I’m rocking a G2s in coyote and I love it. Just stick with what you are comfortable with is what I tell everyone. But I love mine I’d rather have it over a sig p365 any day it’s way better then a high point will ever be.
I am actually in the process of purchasing one of these. Hopefully within the next week or two. I liked looking at it. It fit well in my hands and has all the asthics that I like in a compact firearm.
I love the way it fits my hand. The trigger sits a little far back for comfort on range days. But carry wise n reliability it suits my needs perfectly
@@leebeast9756 I purchased one and then added a 15 round mag to make it fit in my hand even better. the 12 round mag Is nice. But I like the way my G2C feels in my hand with the 15 rounder. totally agree with the reliability and comfort. I've had it at the range a couple of times so far. So I haven't had the chance to put very many rounds thru it yet.
@@dennisgraham3087 I didn't increase mag cap. But I did add a 1inch pinky extension to the range mags. I picked up another 12 round mag at a pawn shop for 10$. Those extensions make it a more comfortable fit as the fingers don't feel so jammed together. Also a rugger hogue grip til fill the hand a bit too. It's definitely at a price point one can customize a bit n enjoy without the wife being upset
@@leebeast9756 oh yeah I added the extension for my 15 round mag as well. I definitely needed that.
That reset is right there, you have to admit that. I wish the sights were a bit better, but it was 220 bucks.
Thanks
I have it and it’s a great gun
You should review the G3
I would really like to get this gun money is tight and this is up my alley for price
As I’m watching this I literally have my G2c on my chest 😂😂
Comparing this to a hellcat or a g26 sig 365 id buy two of these instead of one of the competition and id feel less sad if it got stolen or lost it in a boating accident as far as sights truglo sells some nice nights for about 80ish
My good ole truck gun
You should get used to the german concept of "Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis". ("Price-Performance-Ratio") ;)
Like BMW and Mercedes products or VW?
Luv videos
Awesome
i have onde and have the newest model g3 t.o.r.o. for red dot over.more bigger than g2c is more confortable and stable for more range.with red dot over is great.enjoy the g3 you will love. yours videos are great very dense and we all learn listen your opnion sr.thanks a lot
You did bro
You did your best! 😂
Hickock45 said its a good gun so its a good gun
I was gonna get a sccy cpx 1 with red dot but ive seen nothing but bad reviews so im gonna get this
I own a G3C newer gun for under $300.00 very reliable too
Would someone trust it with your own life? I mean does someone carry it for self defense or just to have fun on the field in US? I ask that because you guys have more renowned brands, not much pricier than taurus.
Greetings from Brazil
I do EDC,ccw this weapon!
I definitely trust my life with this weapon
Yup
I do just because at the moment I'm a broke college student. I don't ccw but I keep it in my vehicle. It's proven reliable enough for me to more than trust it's gonna go boom when I pull the trigger. I do eventually wanna get something nice like an FN or a sig or something but I'm gonna keep my Taurus as my “car” gun just bc it’s cheap enough that if someone knocks my window out and runs off with it I won’t have to be too upset. My dad and I used to live in Brazil when he worked for an oil company outside of Rio, beautiful country.
@@Uncle_Sam76 you do realize that depending on your state law you need a ccw to keep a weapon in your vehicle.
@@waynemessner9691 True, not in my state though.
Try the Taurus TS 40 Bro.
I wonder if you had initially not been aware of the price, if you'd still sneered at this firearm in the beginning?
How much does a trigger job cost for a gun like this?
You’re better off just buying a different gun
Go look at Galloway precision they have good trigger stuff for really fair prices. Anything worth owning is worth upgrading. Might as well make it like you want.
He's correct I just did a stainless recoil guide rod and striker guide the trigger seems great to me no need to upgrade.
I bought a canik compact and that trigger feel is night n day compared to this firearm. That binding issue is irritating.
The solution to that long trigger is to replace it with KEEP TINKERING triggers sold at ebay for only $30. Install Keep Tinkering trigger into your gun and it will give a your gun very nice smooth trigger.
If you are capable and confident enough to do small amounts of 'fitting/filing/lubing' you can save yourself some bucks on having a decent self defense firearm. As well as becoming intimately acquainted with the way it works! Not only this one!
I feel like it’s a good gun for a budget vs a good budget gun.
Can you put gun in safety and rack the slide
👍👍👍👍
As good of a EDC as you can review
Headphone’s?
I can't find a Tarus g3c in Tennessee I'm in Dayton
I'd like to have a G2 Taurus, be better than what I have now NOTHING !!!
😂That WAS funny
I wanna win!!!!!
Why you shooting at 45 yards for .. it’s for carry, maybe 10yards at most… ps learn to shoot, don’t blame the gun
Seems like a legit “offensive” option...
Now retail is $329 on it. Does that mean it's not "budget" anymore
Compare it to an SR9C
Lefty shooter here; is there a way to switch the safety mechanism to fit a lefty grip?
No Sir.
Sadly not the safety, u can swap the mag release over tho and the the safety is pretty reachable from a left handed grip (coming from another leftie) I ended up just pinning the safety in the fire position though so I don’t gotta worry with it.
Thanks for the review!! I bought a G2C and it's OK... wouldn't make it my EDC unless it was all I had for protection. While I like the slide/frame safety (1911 guy) the parts on this Taurus are scary, I can see the possibility of the plastic safety lever breaking off if dropped on a hard surface, then you're really SOL. The trigger is weird too and seems easily breakable. That said, I'll not use it as my EDC.
The safety on mine is steel.
Thanks for being honest
I traded my g2c towards a gen 5 glock 19. Its not a bad first gun but I sure do love my glock.
My glock is taking a backseat to the G2C
Makes a lot of sense, I'm young and ready to get my first gun. I can't stand a 600 dollars purchase for a Glock at the moment. I'm going 100% for the G2C a first gun.
Expected from a "Glock fan boy". G2c is "Old Faithful" Never had any issues. Great gun!
you get what you pay for but seems like a good value for something that cheap
Here in Brasil we have 2 national options, Taurus and IMBEL, who shoots IPSC definitely goes with IMBEL, (1911 platform) because Taurus is not so reliable, only the old ones using beretta platform, anyways thisG2C in BRASIL(where the Taurus comes from) costs USD 700,00 ☹️, believe or not, still the cheapest one.
My Gun spells Brazil with a Z
Joseph Pacchetti
In Brazil it’s spelled Brasilia I believe
BRASIL with S Is in Portuguese (original language here in BRASIL) BRAZIL with Z is in English. Usually when we export something is normal use English like “Made in Brazil” ...
The G2C platform is made in US tho
I used to live in Brasil when I was a kid and absolutely loved it there. Such a beautiful place. So stupid y’all can’t import other guns and they make you pay such ridiculous prices. I can only imagine it’s to make self defense less attainable for the average person. I hope one day your laws change to something more reasonable. Much love from the USA
Got mine a couple years back for $210 total after everything including FFL. Right after I bought my wife's in FDE. They're not $200 anymore...closer to $350 IF you can find them in stock. Who's laughing now. 😎
I bought one a week ago for $250. Your spot is price gouging dude.
Where can i find one online? Has anyone seen it for sale online? Thanks
@@wubbalubadubdub714 curious where you bought it? Or if you seen them online for sale
@@georgekershner6626 Got mine at an AL’s Sporting goods. They may be online, I’m not for certain.
Just bought mine for $199, Xmas sale!
The gun is awesome it’s better than a Glock G I’m not gonna buy the skin because of the trigger I’d rather spend $500-$600 on a gun that has a better trigger
😂😂😂😂
Gun Snob's piss me off.
There’s a difference between a snob and an honest review. If I were I snob, I would have never given it the light of day.
Its funny he thinks its sub $200
Gun snobbery at its best
🥲❄️❄️❄️
Ummmm 🤨 GARBAGE 🗑 if you only had $200 for a gun save another $200 and get a used Glock online .. there’s hundreds of them on GB buds gun shop, etc
Glock fan boys be hating no I'm not gonna save another 200 to get a glock 155 for my g2c that 200 i saved i put toward a 1911
Glocks are all hype 😂😂😂 they’re garbage and the people who buy them are suckers.
@@wubbalubadubdub714 Nearly 40 yrs of proven history and there garbage? Ok stick with your Taurus I hope you never have to use it to save your life ! When you get a click instead of a bang you’ll wish you had that Glock if ur still alive
@@shortyberg1425 hahaha when did I say I even owned a Taurus fudd? Glocks are quickly replacing the boomers 1911’s. I’ll stick to my 509 tac. I’m not a poor, if I’m gonna trust my life to a gun, it damn sure isn’t going to be a fvckin Glock. 🤣🤣
