They like to be lubed. Finger placement is crucial on that trigger. You have to practice with it to learn the break point when it hits the wall. Mine has been fine with all sorts of ammo. Your mileage may vary. Over 500 rounds of Wolf Monarch and Tula steel, 100 rounds of Independence aluminum 1 box of Winchester white box no problems.

I watched a friend fire 1,000 in 20 minutes using a G2c he had the whole family loading mags, brass case, steel case, aluminum, different types of projectiles, and it never missed a lick, I have other friends who have fired 1,000s of rounds and not a single problem, you stated after the failure to feed that it could be the mag or could be the pistol, but It could also be the operator, As an ex-LEO from the early 80s I've had these kind of tools for 57 years, I've fired quite a few G2cs and never had any problem, I use a different stance and grip on handguns, {Think Massad Ayoob} my EDC is the 357 Magnum, and it goes bang with every pull of the trigger. 🇺🇸

The pistol you train with will be the one you shoot the best with. One thing that was not considered in the video is that if someone is in the market for a budget pistol like this one they probably won't have the option to practice with high end pistols and in fact this will be someone's first and maybe only pistol.

My G2C has at least 200 rounds through it. At first it tended to jam or fail to load a round. Being a new handgun shooter, I figure I was limp-wristing it. I also oiled it with motor oil. It now shoots much better. Haven’t had any issues afterwards. Good technique and good firearm care go a long way.

4000+ rounds through mine, flawless no malfunctions, no hiccups. You can get a bad one because of the price point. Send it back, but 50 to 100 rounds should fix that. If not you got a bad one... it is rare now that its made in Georgia USA. and the gun is better than any other 300.00 weapon. Cycle that thing awhile you'll see a huge improvement. If not lifetime warranty. I won't beat you up like these guys cause poop happens but my G2c with adjustable sights, will hit 6" plates at 20 yds, 12" plates from 50-100 yds, Thanks to a Sheriff that helped me sight in. Give it a few more cycles, and do another review, and you can change that trigger on the cheap.

Maybe if you locked out your elbows and wrapped the four fingers of your support hand, under the trigger guard, then you might tighten up that group? If you do that and use a little isometric pressure (push with the gun hand, pull with the support hand) then maybe your thumb wouldn't keep slipping off. Then again, you could always stipel it and if it's no yours and just a test gun, put some skateboard grip tape on it.

As much as I would like to just tell people to kick rocks, one is never too old to try something new. That little taurus is slick up front, and I have the same issue with some of the smaller handguns I have done reviews on. For me it is mainly an issue of the size of the firearm. Mag release was sticky on all of them except the black one, hard to get mag to set etc.
BUTTTTTTTT after a little breaking in they perform great. As reliable as my Glocks and sig’s.

The trigger is a double action (stage) restrike and unlike other single action (stage) striker triggers so folks will automatically say its awful. You really need to go watch the taurusfirearms CZcams channel video titled: In Depth: Taurus G-Series Trigger System. I have no problem with the trigger but it is a different trigger having that double action ability that requires staging or as Taurus says prepping. I do the same thing with DA/SA revolver triggers or DA/SA hammer pistols when shooting double action. This trigger is a single action trigger with double action restrike. The long take up after racking the slide or cocking the striker/firing pin in single action is a safety feature. The trigger goes to double action if the slide is not cycled/cocked for restrike of misfires. It does require practice to get used to it for those that have not shot anything but single action pistols. This pistol is also a close range self defense pistol so it doesn't need a match grade trigger.

@@AverageGIJoeOutdoors Well the restrike option the g2c has is just that, its an option. You could still clear a misfire if you choose. In a close range defense situation, maybe you are fighting someone off with one hand while firing with the other. Maybe that round doesn't go off 1st time and you pull the trigger again and it saves your life. The feature isn't necessarily bad because it gives you more choices depending on the situation.

It appears the way you have your thumbs on the pistol constantly moving them before you shoot the pistol is what is might be the reason you had a hang up and touched the slide as it was recoiling. It appears your hands are too big for the pistol and trigger pull. and if you need stippling all over the pistol to shoot it then it's not the gun for you.

Being a line of budget guns, Taurus will have a higher rate of problematic guns than with CZ, Glock, S&W, Sig, etc... I got a G2C that kept having feeding malfunctions, sent it to Taurus and they sent it back in the same condition, haha. Got another one (the first one was tack driver accurate, ntm felt great in the hand) and it has been letter perfect. You'll have some that are troublesome, others that will go thousands or rounds w/out a failure. Taurus is much improved these last few years, but their % of problematic guns will likely remain somewhat higher than non-budget guns. BTW, their old 24/7 G2 was the softest shooting .40 cal gun I ever shot - by a long shot. If you get a good Taurus, you're golden.

I bought the pt 111 and the pt 140 several years ago and didn't pay more than 225 with taxes and background for both . I bought the m 85 38 for 100 new . I got my nose up in the air and started believing the hate from the things I was reading and watching and decided I may a mistake even though I and no issues with any of them and had fired at least a 1000 rounds a peice through each of them I traded in a package trade for a will used sd40ve and have hated myself since. I just purchased a new G2C last week. I'm a revolver guy and I've never owned an auto so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. In my life I might have fired 10 rounds through friends .380s and a .32 but I've never had a 9mm and thought it would be worth trying, plus it's hard to conceal large caliber revolvers. I was actually shopping for the SCCY DVG. It's cheap enough, the reviews are okay and it felt good in my hand. I liked the size and the action of the trigger but I let the salesman talk me into the Taurus for an extra $40. As instructed i broke it down. Cleaned it oiled it and then was ready to start loading mags. This is the first problem. You couldn't possibly fill this mag up by hand. Maybe put it in a vise and hammer more rounds into it. Put the 6 round mag in pull the slide back and release and it wouldn't go all the way back forward without smacking the back of it. Hmm, eh it's brand new it'll need to be worked in some. You start pulling the trigger(s) and 2" later you get to the actual 10lb trigger. Fired one round then jammed. Got that out, fired twice more, jammed. It fired the last one but the slide didn't lock back. Out of 4 mags of 6-6-7-6 and two different brands of FMJ it jammed 7 times, the slide didn't go back forward all the way 5 times and the slide never locked back with the one mag empty. This gun convinced me that all the notions I've had of pistols being useless and unreliable are completely true. No way would I trust my life or a family members with an Auto. $230 for a gun and your best hope in a defense situation is that you can throw it and hit the other person in the eye giving yourself time to run away. I honestly can't believe after all these decades Taurus is still in business. The one 20 year old .380 I'd fired was a Taurus and it was garbage too.

@@AverageGIJoeOutdoors I've heard nothing but bad about the judge. Even when it works properly its kinda useless. 45 long is fine, but less expensive firearms in the same caliber are far better. Any kind of shot from the judge has such a large pattern it's useless outside of 10ft. Slugs work alright but have such low velocity it's kind of useless.
Also, mec-gar makes all the 15 + round mags for the g3c, G3, etc. The lower count mags are Brazilian. So the g2c mag is Brazilian, and they're overpriced. GARBAGE! I purchased a G2C, cleaned it and loaded it with defense rounds pending range visit. Yesterday I had a big cottonmouth in my backyard, so I decided to load some FMJ to save the hard-to-find defense rounds. Big surprise when I dropped the magazine and tried to eject the round the the chamber...the slide moves 1/4" and otherwise is locked tight. Watching CZcams videos I had come to the conclusion that the G2C was a reasonable purchase but now I know different...looking at the Taurus Forum and the HUGE number of reports of jammed slides I ave to conclude that all of the glowing reviews on CZcams are "sponsored" by Taurus. Should have learned my lesson about 10 years ago when a defective design (hammer block failure) on a Taurus compact .45 ACP resulted in my younger son taking at Ranger Talon round to the left thigh when he was trying to eject a live round in the chamber. Didn't sue Taurus, but I should have because they refunded the purchase price, which was an admission of culpability.

@@AverageGIJoeOutdoors - I called and talked with Taurus Support at-length. They sent me a Fedex shipping label, so I packed it up and sent it off. It came back in about a week. Excited, I loaded some defense rounds in a magazine, cycled the slide and then...locked up again. I looked at the repair chit and they listed "Adjusted trigger bar" (???) and fired 24 rounds of FMJ through it.
I called Taurus Support AGAIN and discovered that the first Support person with whom I spoke had made no note or mention of the fact that I told them FMJ could be cycled manually without issue, but that defense rounds locked the slide up tight. This time the Support person read me exactly what she was reporting and it reflected the issue accurately...SO, another Fedex label and I will be shipping the G2C off to Taurus AGAIN tomorrow (Monday) for warranty repair. We shall see and I will report back if they actually fix it THIS time.
Incidentally, when the Taurus PT 145 (.45 ACP) ignored the hammer block and shot my younger son mid-thigh the Ranger Talon round hit his femur, flattened and slid off, exiting the back of his thigh and entering his calf (he was sitting cross-legged on the floor). The X-ray showed the spot on his femur where the round flattened and he had a closed spiral fracture...back on his feet in six weeks and out running 12 miles (he used to be a member of the US Olympic Development Soccer Team) in a year. The round is still in his calf, unsafely close to a nerve bundle. Luckily, at the time, was working Level ONE trauma as a surgical nurse and his apartment-mate was a Level ONE trauma scrub tech. Web belt tourniquet and a trip to the Trauma Center within 12 minutes of the shot.

My new G2C did the same thing. After doing some research, I found that Taurus 9mm handguns sometimes have a "short chamber". This causes some rounds, depending on their shape, to stick in the chamber. The bullet gets stuck on the rifling. 5 different types of ammo I had on hand (I had 13 different kinds) would do this. I called Taurus and told them the issue I had discovered with my pistol and I'd like a new barrel that didn't have a short chamber. They refused to send me a new barrel and wouldn't pay for shipping for me to send it in for work. Instead - they told me to shoot 400 rounds of ammo that didn't lock my gun up and then to try that ammo again. I told them where to go and sold the gun to a buddy that didn't care it was picky on ammo. Just horrible customer service !
