Bad ass you’re working on a S197 Gen1!!! These mustangs aren’t dead and I think it’s gonna be pretty hard to write them off!!!
@@TheManic.5-OH When they first came out I thought it was as close as you can get to a modern fox body
The coffee order 😂😂 “coffee with cream and surgar, AUH!” Sweet intro, loving the 197 series.
I love this shit. You cant throw random shit at a build and think its gonna work. You have to have all the pieces of the puzzle. Fuel and CAI without a manifold and exhaust isn't gonna give you the results you think it will. I feel like this series is gonna teach people a lot.
Badass video Alex! 12.4 on the street with just a CAI, tire, and sunoco pump is pretty damn good. You can definitely tell the car needs a free flowing exhaust from how hard it was falling off the top of each gear. I'm ready to see this thing run mid to low 11s with simple shit. If anyone doubts it my shit with just an 18 manifold, JLT(I know), bobo Sai li return style fuel system, id1000, e85, circle d converter, headers, exhaust, and drag pack went 11.45@117 leaving on footbrake. I've spent maybe 5k in parts. S197 coyote is entry level elite. 👌
OK, I’ve been working on cars for 12+ years and you’re the only other person I’ve ever seen that opens and closes the door to reset the body control module
Is that how it’s done?
@@EastDallasKicks yeah on newer canbus cars and especially linbus cars like new bmws turning the key off and opening the door for a few seconds and closing it sort of resets the body control module to its default state ready to start sending commands to the other modules. It’s really just good habit after doing anything that involves cycling key
@@Mitchellms1239
I am just here for the INTRO..lol!! NOBODY is giving Coyote information like this, and because of that, the learning will never stop!!
Again these data heavy videos are the absolute best!! Please keep them coming! … AUHHH!
That intro hits hard. I used to watch that 1-2-3 pull over and over as motivation to buy an s197 till I finally did.
Did you get the 3v or coyote?
@@EastDallasKicks Coyote , manual. Blew the trans first day and bought a Ben kalimer the next day lol
Very nice video. I thoroughly enjoyed this! Thanks Alex!. Gen 1 looking good bro!
I went 11.10 122.78 with my 2014 auto swapped with Lund Sauce! Stock long block, CJ ported, twin 67, Alternative 5” aluminum intake, C16 race fuel, free flowing exhaust, 3:31’s, Circle D 5c and aluminum driveshaft. Then I put stock manifold and JLT on and went 11.39@119.43
You will be running 11’s no problem. Greatly enjoy your videos!
That CJ ported really makes a big difference! How was the driveabilty, and did you notice any loss down low?
It definitely pulled harder up top. Absolutely no loss down low. Drivability with the twin 67 was perfect. The converter took a lot of getting use to.
Awesome stuff! Looking forward to the headers content.
Another great and informative video Alex! Thank you 👏👏👏👏
Thanks Alex for educating people on doing the right things.
Car looks good Alex 👍🏻. I enjoy these videos of the build up of parts and testing.
Man I've got to get a gen 2 coyote. Gotta really do a pros and cons of each trans to fit the usage & thank you for all the content so I can learn and plan the vision.
Loving the series Alex
Loving the experiments. Thanks for this one alex
You're making gen 1 great again! Tune, traction, octane, and you're just as fast as a 60k new Mustang . I love it!
Great little test! Some OEMs even do this - overly force the knock sensors to control timing
As always, AWESOME video! I like the idea that Race gas will make a big difference and NO KNOCK! Again, KEEP ON ROCKING! In CA we have sucky 91 Octane. I know where there is a Race gas place but I have no need it yet!
New intro kicks ass! 💪
Alex loving the videos and the series on the s197, I've had mine for about 9 years and recently 1 year ago had on3 twins installed and it loves it, the car is insanely fast. For your issue with the service advance track, check the 100 amp fuse connected to the positive battery terminal, my car had that issue with the same pop up screen for service advance track and it turned out the fuse blew, hope this helps. I cannot wait for future uploads of the s197!
Great video. 🔥🔥🔥
Great video Alex.
This is great information.
Ayyyyeeee T-Bone Capone what's good little homie 😂 love the content brother. Always love learning!
Another outstanding video Alex!!! Really enjoy your work and look forward to your next installment. Sometime back you did a shootout with some aftermarket CAIs and the factory OEM CAI. The OEM CAI actually worked really well. In another one of your videos after installing an 18 mani on a easy Gen 2 you compared the 18 CAI with the 15 CAI. The 18 pipe diameter from the air box to the TB was noticeably larger. For that crazy guy that wants a Gen 1 engine compartment to appear more OEM stock, can the 18 CAI be fit into an s197 without much modification?
Tremendous video! I'm wondering if the breather/catch can will mitigate any of those issues? Forgive my ignorance. I already have the 18 mani, headers, intake, 3.73s and your tune so i find this very interesting. Car runs 11.9s at the track on Poverty Stars.
You'll definitely be in the 11's with a converter. I have a 2014 with the Circle D 5C, 1320 ported Boss manifold, LU47's, CAI with some suspension, 1 piece driveshaft, weight reduction and tire. I hit a best of 11.67 @118mph with a 1.65 60' last year. Wanting to throw 3.31's in and try to get mid 11's. Really enjoying the gen 1 content!
Interesting tests, thanks Alex
I love the 13-14 GTs. Have an FBO 13 GT premium
Love this series
Looking forward to the next set of mods!
I have a 1964 f100 with a gen 1 f150/ 6r80 combo. It has bbk shorties with free flowing exhaust, ported 18 manifold, k&n cold air intake, circle D 3c converter, 3.55 gear. Best run is a 7.69 89.9 mph. I think it would benefit with some mustang cams and a better cold air. Truck is about 3650-3700 with me in it.
Thanks for another great video!
Love these Vids such good info for broke Gen 1 guys like me would be interesting to see 60-130. We got a guy with a bolt on Gen 1 running low 11s 60-130 and swears he can get it into the 9s how it sits now essentially.
Crazy your already faster than a dark horse in the 1/4mile
THE INTRO GETS ME SO HYPE !!!!!!!
Can’t wait to see if a manifold would relief the pressure on aggressive timing
5:40 "hug hug, kiss kiss, hug hug, big kiss, little hug, kiss kiss, little kiss"
How did you learn all that from copying and pasting tunes? This was very interesting info.
With those first gens you can definitely feel the power drop off above 6500. One thing I’ve always been curious about is how would the car run shifting at 6500, allowing the rpm’s to drop down to an area with more average torque
Very interesting test, I have seen tests that showed cars with "FFE" will allow more spark due to the increased flow. Especially with boosted vehicles with increased backpressure. The manifold may have the same affect, just on the intake stroke (heyyo) as the "FFE" does on the exhaust stroke.
Awesome those are some really good numbers! I know your hate for the 10r80 transmission but I have a bone stock 2019 GT base model 301a so drive modes cloth seats in 70 degree 725 foot DA at a track that has a 543 ft elevation ran multiple 11 second times with 20 inch front and back wheels no drag radials no tune bone stock! Best run 11.85@118.98 mph! I’ve even run on the street an 11.79@120.43 mph on my draggy with a .25% uphill run! My car has 73,455 miles on it ! I have no mods on my car and you have long way to go to even get close! It’s the 10 speed that makes my car fast nothing else! I’m not looking to go 7’s so I Love the 10 speed!
Yeah, I traded my 2013 GT back in 2018 for my 2019 GT 10 speed and these test are making me happy about what I did. Its gonna take him nearly full bolt ons at full weight to do what our cars do stock and our cars can hit 10's with just LT headers, E85 tune, drag pack and that's pretty much it.
Sup man GREAT video! If people will shut up and pay attention you can learn something
Love the intro; nice boston
Alex I think ur forget the most budget mod that gets done to this car....muffler deletes and resonator deleter
Lmao. It's probably easy to do. But I will avoid doing it at all cost
I have the same collar and leash for my dog lol.
Well done Alex i’am at the same set up has you , looking to invest on my mustang (2018 intake plenum) and (longtube header). Waiting for your next move 2018 intake first and after headers I leave it to you. Thanks Alex will be watching.👍💪🇨🇦😎
I've got steeda intake 18 mani ported LTHs and hi flows it's definitely fun tuned by Alex unintentionally
For selfish reasons, I'd love to see a Circle D 4C converter go in next, before any other modifications are made. That's probably my next step and I would love to see your results. Given your cars current performance, what type of improvement would you expect in your 60 FT and ET?
What's the plan for this car? I'm watching no matter where it goes.
Will a Gen 2 Coyote with the harness and ECU automatic transmission plug and play with a 14 S197? Please help! 🙏🏻
Dope
Best power add ons for stock 2011 mustang gt?
Put lx mustang front end on Fairmont it will fit rite up
Bro you got a xmaxx those thing are bad asss . Love mine
Im pretty sure you can get into the 11s without converter i did 11.8s with shitty iats cause i was dumb. with headers gt350 manifold and e85 on a gen 2 full weight
Probably a stupid question but is a tune not necessary for 260 GT?
My st focus was the same color. I want a gen 1 bad. Maybe next year
TONY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is......... Awesome
What csv file reader are you using?
Them those tic tac toe taillights wtfff
I think my car(manual) would have hit a high 11 the other night but the 3rd gear syncro decided to leave the chat...stock clutch stock mt82 life! Ran my buddy's 6.0 swapped obs rcsb silverado and while he pulled out ahead of me off the line and to the 8th I reeled him in and we were dead even at the 1/4. His best dragy time is either an 11.89 or 11.98 I can't remember which. Unfortunately the dragy didn't record on the run where we raced 😢
My 3rd gear just got obliterated last week during a pull 😓 mt82 things
@DOHC_ANT that sucks man. I think my gears are fine, it still shifts smoothly driving normally but any time I shift past like 5k from 2nd to 3rd it grinds. I'm gonna pull it apart and see what all parts, besides carbon syncros and a clutch, I need to order. Thinking about buying a used one to pull apart and upgrade so I can still drive my car while I'm waiting on parts.
Saw them calves when you first got in the stang 🫠
I have a 2013 Boss 302 and looking to buy a cobra jet manifold, what do you suggest would be the best throttle body to use that will give it the best performance as well as drivability? Also will the ford racing cai perform well with the cj or should i just get the pmas ?
Driveability and CJ don't go hand in hand. Wanna have best driveability use stock tb and stock Mani.
Used to drink cream and sugar, now all black
Dude had tic-tac-toe going in his rear tailights.
Maybe a dumb question but are you spinning the tire because it’s such a small sidewall? Tired of having no traction on my manual 12’ 18 mani/e85 car and was going to run the Nitto 555R2 but on a 15”. If I wasn’t in Florida I’d buy a more aggressive tire but concerned about rain. Was surprised that spun given that the car is mostly stock
No car is going to dead hook on this road and stock suspension.
Impressive
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Alex buy a Gen3r. My Gen 1 is nasty with a 3.5 pulley and 93
Been there done that. Not interested
When you do the draggy do you put your foot flat to the floor or ease the pedal down gradually?
Depends on grip. If it sticks it's matted
You’re the Mustang god 🤣
Just wondering, I have a 2011 G. T lund tuned with a nitto NT555G2 295 40 18 still spinning in third. What tire did you put on the back of that?
Go to the cold air intake test video. He said he has 285/35/19 Mikey thompson ET street S/S
MT et street ss
Looks like a Mickey Thompson ET Street - not sure which version though.
Do you tune cars for lund or are you out on your own?
I can literally hear the engine rev slower after the shift… knocks weren’t happy
Ballsy move, got coffee then went to Mexico risking #2's south of the border SHEESH!!
Oh shit i must have missed an episode the Fox is gone.
John Wick is starting to move.
Once again a assload of data for our gen1’s .. thanks alex keep doing it and teaching us dumbies the real deal holyfield lol
Is air density factored into your .10?
Conditions are about the same if you see the previous video.
Hey ALEX WHAT TIRE SIZE YOU GOT IN THE REAR??
Watch the previous video
@YDBT4LIFE i see they are285/ 35/19, question would a 285/35/17 be the same hight or be even smaller? Beaches I'd hate to have a bigger wheel gap on my fender😭
@@trunkslorenzana no idea.
Nice intro.....
He said "ehhh fuck you"
Glad you sold the notch. Hush money is better
Wait until you see the Fab work
No offense but this car is making me happy I traded in my 2013 GT for my 2019 GT 10 speed. Its gonna take a E85 conversion, LT headers, tire and maybe 18+ manifold to knock on the 11's in a gen 1 which is what my car does bone stock and my car with E85 tune, LT headers and tire is knocking on the 10's. Its pretty much a full second faster stock for stock and mod for mod.
And when you boost it...and have to upgrade the 10r80...no offense. You'll be rethinking that purchase.
@@YDBT4LIFE no offense but I don't need to run 8's to be happy. A mid 9 second car in perfect conditions or high 9 second car on average will be great for me and plenty of 10R80's are living just fine in that range. Not to mention a gen 1 engine is gonna have to be upgraded to put a full weight car in that time range and actually live. Looks like to me even if I do have to upgrade the trans its a wash considering I would have had to upgrade the gen 1 engine. I definitely like the gearing for more felt torque with the gen 3 over my gen 1. I like the ride quality on my gen 3 over my gen 1. I like what you do for us but agree to disagree.
did you bag up tonys shit? I know that was a business venture of yours.
Always lmao.

what is a "260 test?"
Brand / name of a high octane gas Sunoco 260 GT is the full name
