Every real man has a Harbor Freight lifting table.
Weld S71 "high pad" 17x5 (71HB7050A22A) is designed for Brembos. No spacers are required.
Lots of the drag wheels clear brembos without needing spacers. The f14 do so do the d5 forgestars and other welds far as I know don't require a spacer. I run 17x7 f14 on my gt500 not sure if the skinnier option requires spacer I'm pretty sure they don't.
You sold me on that Harbor Freight lifting table. Sure beats bench pressing a transmission in the heat of summer.
I went with the Aerospace Pro Street brakes versus the drag brakes cause I wanted more stopping power. I can stop from 177 mph in the 1/4 at 3510# without the parachute no problem. I think I've used my parachute maybe 10 times since 2013 when I put it on.
Alex just keeps posting the best content for people who are just getting into the car scene. Answers the question before it’s even asked
The excitement in your voice with the new tools was funny, I do that everytime something off the tool truck just makes life easier. It's the little things.
I love my harbor freight lifting table.
Love the gen 1 content man, i got my 6r80 with 36k miles and it was bone stock and only added a k and n cold air should’ve went with pmas in the beginning. Its got about 46k miles and soon want to run the set up you’ve done to get more hp out of it 💪
Love having the right tool for the job. Fairmont coming together well.
5:35 it’s like getting 2 birds stoned. Worst case Ontario you have one less update to give us. ❤
Alex I had a 2014 track pack with Brembos
The basic race stars or sve drag pack offset clears the brembos
My favorite is when a car by no means needs a chute, but has a chute!! Goes good with hood, or bumper exits on an 11 second ordeal, lol
Hell yeah Alex. I NEEDED this video as I am looking at Drag Packs for the track but was considering the Brembo upgrade for my street setup. Thanks dude.
I havent kept up with all videos but definitely missed the fairmont content 🔥
I absolutely love the 14" brembos on my 14 track pack gt. I will never understand why anyone would want to essentially run a 4 wheeler disc brake on a 3500+lb car they drive on the street. 🤷
Great video brother! Always love the gen1 Donnie content.
Rotational weight savings saves you more time than what you might think. It nets you more time that the “unsprung” weight I.e. the seat.
I like the lift table.

The harbor freight transmission jack is the SHIZ for ppl who work on their own shiz at home. I use it for tons of stuff. Works great for the trans and for dropping/installing gas tanks etc.
I just bought a cheap motorcycle jack stand on Amazon and it works amazing for everything
TBM XS3 recently released, no personal experience with them but they seem a lot more substantial than their drag brakes. Might actually be worth looking at. Everyone drop a like!
I have them on my car and I’ve had bears before. The xs3 are better in almost every way. Only thing the baers have on them is ease of install
Hell yeah. Only Fronts is the new trend
I have 6 piston brembos on my 2012 I had to run a 1/4in spacer with 18x5s to get them to clear
Hey brother, I got a cheap easy solution, Go to auto zone and snag you a set of 05-09 v6 mustang brakes. They look stock still stop well and you can fit a 15 inch wheel up front. Not to mention it shaves 10-15 pounds of weight
@@shelbihettinger2576 no
great video, cant wait for more s197, zr-1, and gt500 content
@@Baeza_5.0 ZR1 gets here Wednesday
10:00 love that goal 95% of of car people just want a nice reliable montser daily with all the safety/creature comforts intact to rip on a commute or a weekend run
Good info.
Big brakes abs skinnies don’t mix.
Certain ones do. I have the f14 drag pack on my 07 gt500 17x7 front 15x10 rear. There are others like welds etc that usually clear with 17s but alot of 17 won't work I think most of the drag wheels do though.
My 17 inch belaks didn’t fit my base s550 brakes I had to do some shaving and add a 1/4 spacer to clear. I eventually switched to tbm XS3 brakes they’re the most street friendly drag brake option currently available. The install was kind of a pita though, since you have to grind the knuckles.
When you pull out the passenger seat , pull the rear upper seats , only 3 bolts, that’s my set up , curious to see a difference
Only downside to having the Brembos is you have to be careful about what wheels you buy. I'd love to put some on both my 05 Coyote swap and my 2012 GT eventually. I'll probably do it when it comes time for new brakes.
I'm thinking if my 88 Firebird ends up with any transmission problems, I'll probably put a TH400 in it. I have so many projects, that I'm surprised I'm slowly going bald and turning into a buff Puerto Rican guy.
Let’s go!!!
I think the Brembo 4piston calipers need 5mm more offset. Some people put. 5mm spacer in they don’t want to switch their rims. Guessing you Wilwoods are a bit lower profile.
I’m confused why is the fairmont getting a carburetor again instead of stock ecu fuel injection? Besides the fact the cams are locked out
"and and Do"... the time has come for an asprin lol
When you’re shimming the torque converter did you shim it 1/8 to 3/16. Somewhere in that range??
@@drocfox9771 correct.
More closer to 3/16
You need a 1 inch spacer and 3 inch wheel studs, for the belaks to fit the brembos on the s197
Doesn't need the studs (although they are awesome). For drag racing, the spacers with the studs built in work fine. I've done years of road racing with them and that's way more load in the front end than drag racing
Some 17" front wheels will fit with the Brembo package. At least mine do on my 2012.
For sale when you're in the market.
F14 wheels fit there are several weld options too that do I'm pretty sure. I love the f14 drag wheels they're some of the best looking drag wheels out there imo. 5 star welds and foregstar d5 are also pretty nice.
You may want to install "engine travel limiter". Keeps engine/trans from moving front/back. Currently only thing doing that is the trans mount. Motion Raceworks has a coyote kit thats nice.
@@HPFarm I have a bps versión....but
If the front has a solid mount. How's the engine going to move back?
@@YDBT4LIFEis the solid mount you’re referring to the front plate wings?
@@HPFarm yes.. the grey goose at 2500 hp has no issues with a mid plate and the front mounts
But I did buy the limiter plates in case
@@YDBT4LIFEokay

07-10 gt500 also have the 14 inch brembo standard. Just an fyi
Do you think the hood will close without cutting it with the carburetor and elbow on top?
@@Sik.Suki_750. no unfortunately
@@YDBT4LIFEthat’s what I thought looking at that intake manifold on top
Hey guy can u write me a tune for my 5.0 f150 this weekend
Just out of curiosity. How are you liking the quick jacks So far? I'm thinking about buying some For the business.
@@rsoito74 they changed everything. I highly suggest them
@YDBT4LIFE Thank's That's kind of what I figured, seeing that they lift so high and you have all that room underneath looks like a good deal. Way better than working with a Jack and Jack stands.
Some have commented solutions
already but maybe a tiny spacer to fit the skinnies. Couldn’t really see how much clearance you needed
@@yoganlates7775 maybe 1/4 inch. I might test a spacer next week. Not a fan of spacers on heavy cars
Just maybe use a spacer?
But now you can't bench press transmission on Saturday lol
Only fronts nearly happened.
I run strange 4pot brakes on all 4 corners and have stopped from 150mph multiple times without a chute with 1000s of street miles. Never had any issue with stopping or brake fade. Multiple hard braking events back to back to back would yield some fade but if you’re needing to get on the brakes like that street driving you’re being an idiot. 3700lb gt500 pulling a 4’x8’ raceweek trailer loaded down. Also still retain the factory booster and ABS. FYI. No parking brake though that’s the parachute handle. Just food for thought man.
Could use the spares for test purposes...poor man skinnies
I’m not 100% sure is 11-12 GT500 brembos are the same as 13-14 GT brembos. “If they are” I’m running a 28x6.00R18
They are 07-12 gt500 brembo are the same not just 11-12 gt500 been running them since way back.
You need to find you a jockey so that you can cut another 1/10th off the time.
