    I Love This For You ❤ I Have Been Binge Watching Your Videos For The Last Week As A Current Student. You Have Given Me So Much Information! I'm Super Nervous But Super Excited. I Remember In A Video, You Said You Were Working On Fetal Echo. Are You Still Doing That Or Are You Still Just Abdominal & OBGYN? The Track At My School Is Abdominal, OBGYN, & Vascular!

    Loved your video! I've been thinking of joining the Sonography work place aswell, the only thing that's stopping me is the work schedule. I have two boys who require a lot of my time and working part-time is the only option for me. Do you know if part-time is available for the Sonography career?

    Quick question, been thinking of moving to the south however sonographers get paid more in California. The cost of living in California is substantially higher as well..was wondering if I should work in CA first, save and then move down or just move down and accept the lower pay for the same job just cost of living is different. Need advice

What is the typical salary if you don't mind me asking? Every website says something drastically different. Look forward to hearing from you.

    • @KristyDMS
      @KristyDMS  Před 2 lety +8

      Typically a good amount of experience under your belt would be ideal! This is just because the company is trusting you’re competent in scanning and seeing what you see. As a contracting sonography there isn’t a “boss” that keeps an eye on us when we go to these offices. So you have to be comfortable with working pretty independent!

    @kristydms hey Kristy,how are you? My name is Courtney, and I just got accepted into the cardiovascular sonography program here at my school and I am planning on doing a paid internship while in school. Do you have an tips or suggestions on what I should put on my resume since I don’t have experience within the field yet? However I do have plenty of customer service experience which I feel will go hand and hand! ❤

    Hello Kristy,
    I just found your CZcams channel 🙂 I have been very interested in joining the program and I was wondering if you attended a program in CA or another state? If you did attend in CA, do you have any recommendations on which program to apply to and what exactly are the pre-reqs I need to apply? I was also worrying about salary because there have been a couple of people make comments that it is hard to find a job in CA as a DMS, is this true?😓

    • @yarazard
      @yarazard Před rokem

      Hey Giselle, I just wanted to let you know that pre-reqs depend on the school but the basic ones are sciences and math like physics and biology. Also, some programs require a Bachelors, while others do not. If moving is not an issue for you, you should check out the schools in TX!

      Haha! This is probably one of the biggest misconceptions about Ultrasound. I worked at a local trauma hospital my entire career thus far. We did eveything from biopsies to OR cases and anything in between. We work hard. Outpatient isn’t quite as crazy but it’s very very busy outpatient. Again, not trying to hyjack your page lol

  • @yarazard

    Did you negotiate salary instead of hourly, and how did you go about doing that?

    • @KristyDMS
      @KristyDMS  Před rokem

      i believe since i was willing to do fulltime, salary was offered. bc its a traveling type of job they needed you to flexible, which guaranteed a salaray based pay. however if i wanted to be part time, hourly was offered.

      Start looking up traveling nurses on you tube. You’ll find a lot more information. I’ve been a Sonographer for about 20 years and looking into travel. I live in california and have been connecting with travel nurses to see how it all works.
