I love the Jackson 5!!!! Who’s listening in 2024?!?!?!?! Then you’re a grovvy person…
their happening in a far out kinda way super groovy......marcia brady 😁☮
The boy was a baby beast. How could God pack so much talent into someone that small? Truly amazing.
I give God the credit for sure. Talent coursed thru this boy’s veins. We are blessed to have witnessed such talent in our lifetime.
I was privileged enoughed to see greatness way back when. My Christmas present when I was only 7 years old. We were not rich but they knew I loved Michael Jackson .
❤YES I ALWAYS LOVE THE JACKSON 5
The Whispers were on tour opening for the Jackson 5 and someone asked them how did they feel about it? And they said they had no problem with it because Michael was a little kid but when he sung he sung like a grown man🤭🥰💚💙❤️💛💜✊🏾💜💛❤️💙💚l love the Jackson 5,6,7,8 and 9 🤭🥰💜💛❤️💙💚l love them ALL Mom and Dad included🥰

The Jackson Family is SO FRIGGIN AWESOME ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Oh my God. I can't believe the black and white with Michael dancing at the end. Masterful at that age. He was a phenomenon that we will probably never see again.
Yes truly...but drugs can beat anyone who challenges it... Richard Jacobs 😢
They were such highly polished entertainers even at such a young age. Michael was incredible!
Michael was the best of the best: an American treasure. And yet, he was tormented. My heart goes out to him.
Their daddy Joe beat them into shape
He whipped discipline in them. Motown is responsible for their choreography and polish. Motown did that with ALL their acts. I give Papa Joe credit for making them embrace hard work, Berry Gordy for teaching them how to entertain. But I think you might agree with me that Michael would have been a mega-superstar regardless!
@@jakeallen2621 Im oldschool black woman.. Back then NO black Dad nor Black mother played about raising respectful, discipline kids! Do right ALL the time or get something in your a_s! No time out bullshitt!
They were polished by Joe Jackson's belt across their backs.
My goodness!
He could spin like that at nine and go toe-to-toe with James Brown. That cover at the end was AMAZING! That absolutely stunned me
Yes, Mike came Ready!
He was born in 1958, which would have made him older than 9 in 1970.
Yes in fact he was 11 but was forced to lie about his age
He was 11 at the time.
@@geraldthomas8241 He was 12. The press and promoters went with the lie that he was younger. It just sounded good to them.
The interview with Micheal at age 9, then the 1st time release if ABC... shows how much talent Micheal had at this very young age. Amazing
He was actually 11 (born in 1958), the label told him to say he was 9 to up the wow factor. Doesn't matter because he was insanely talented regardless.
@@themightierpencil Right, August 29 1958, my mom was August 29 1926
This performance was 100% live! You can hear everything and there was no track. Sounds great.
Wow, I had no idea the group actually played the instruments on the songs
@@cedric7122 Yes, in a live setting. The MOTOWN Funk Brothers played the songs in the studio. But indeed the J5 was the truth live.

I’m 4 years younger than Michael, and I was GLUED TO THE TV the night this came on. And I have loved his music ever since. What a heart, what a gift. ❤❤❤❤
❤
THIS IS MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me too. I first saw them on the Bill Cosby special and I realized I wanted to be in show biz. I was only 5 years old. They were the most exciting thing I had ever seen.
Mike gets all the love, but give some to the whole band. These youngsters are singing, dancing, playing live! Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon. And props to Johnny and Ronnie on drums and keyboard. Do y’all know how hard it was play Bass and lead guitar, while dancing?! It’s a crime what the top hip hop artist earns, compared to raw talented pop artists of the past.
Amen to that. I miss the Magic of Saturday 📺Cartoons and American Bandstand
No they all get love it's just the new fans that were not around when they first hit they don't realize all of them were equally as popular from a music and marketing and promotion standpoint
No kidding, Diana Ross discovered them, brought them to MOTOWN and they went platinum in four months as a group. They were phenomenal as a group it’s just that people were astonished that Michael was a ten year old performing like a professional thirty year old at ten.

Facts I play bass and I’ve tried singing and playing and i have a hard time doing both
Bruh I swear I’ve seen every piece of Michael footage. That black and white footage with him at the end channeling James Brown at that age is unimaginable. Mike was born to do this 🤯🤯🐐🐐
Michael was born for that ..all that talent in little body at that time lol them little legs and feet was going! His talent is still unmatched and I hope he can finally R.I.P 🕊 ❤️🔥
Amen
I seen an interview with Katherine saying when he was baby and she was washing clothes, he would move to the beat of the washing machine in his highchair. Definitely born for this!
53 years and we still loving this
That spin in the beginning was a sign he'd be the KING OF POP....
Can anyone resist having goose bumps and feeling utterly inamoured and swept off one's feet when watching this angel sing, dance, smile, laugh? God's gift to people...
He was so special. A angel for sure
To us, back in the day, the WHOLE group were angels. We thought we were witnessing beings from another reality when we saw them live.
Damn why do yall always just talk about Michael.... It was a whole group.
This is what I try to explain to people. The J5 was an EXCEEDINGLY talented group. I saw them in person from day one and could only shake my head at the level of musical prowess they had.
@@cressapellom4205 You are probably right, I did not grow up with them, and the camera always is zoomed in on Michael... Sorry!
Michael’s dance moves in the last segment showed his brilliance then accept he was so young nobody could see he was going to carry that talent into the future.
Wow Micheal Jackson rocked that song . I mean you can tell by his performance that he was going to be something special!
They were all special
his footwork is insane
Absolutely breathtaking.
Incredible performance from a 9yr old.A brilliant dancer at that age.The King of Pop as he’s known.
He was actually 12 according to their movie. He was born 1958 and this was 1970. They would say he was nine because it apparently made him look more adorable.
@@destinyjohntelMicheal was still adorable when he was 30, when he still looked normal before he had all those terrible plastic surgeries.

He was just 9! His poise and self confidence, his clear diction, his original interpretations of songs, his dance moves. What a standout talent. Those of us in this world when he was were more blessed that perhaps we realised.
He was actually 11, Motown told him to say he was 9, because he would seem cuter to fans
I remember the 1st time I heard this, I still can't find the words to express my feelings. I was 12 years old, I'm now 66 years old!

he was the coolist kid ever.
Is Michael Jackson was the best kid ever?
Yep absolutely
Are you shy? Michael: No | Michael when he’s interviewed any other time in his solo career “I’m very shy”
Apparently as his fame grew (and the media began fabricating false narratives about him) he became more withdrawn and introverted. It never came across on stage, however... he always shined!
@@dorotheatalento3270 the media really troubled him and he shld never have paid any a to them
@@dorotheatalento3270 the media really troubled him and he shld never have paid any attention to them
I read that Michael was actually the most outgoing and extroverted Jackson brother before they were famous and in the early Motown days but became shy once he hit puberty and got acne and of course Joe making fun of his appearance
According to an interview Reebie had, she said Michael was the mischievous child in the house. Said he would give Joe hell. Talking back and everything. She said he stayed in trouble.
I thought he didn't do long spins when he was a kid....... I was glad to be proved wrong. I wonder did the audience understood the magic that was happening
Yes, In the Black Community WE DID understand what WE was witnessing. You got to remembered the other communities was pushing THE OSMONDS…..and when he did the Wizard of OZ with Diana Ross. We understood we were watching REAL TALENT. And then the Off the Wall album….HE HAD ARRIVED. The rest is history and WE were there every step of the way.
Mike came on the scene READY!!
A musical genius indeed!!! I miss him so much!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Even after since this first premiered still amazed such a young group of boys were so talented and talented. Highly professional in every way. The musicians in the background were also quite excellent musicians
Many say they serve none yet working 9 - 5 - been schooled/programmed, watching TV, letting yourself entertained by this worlds music, sports, movies, which all day by day becoming more and more darker, more evil , more sinister = ignorantly serving of the Baphomet aka lucifer.
Lets test human souls, to see whom amongst us is the ignorant of the truth.:
You being Spiritual, but denying you being SPIRIT BEING, an everlasting being already?
- to whom was left a book, filled with guidance and warnings of how to live human lifetime on earth?
as the bible = BASIC INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE LEAVING EARTH.
Being created in the image of GOD = being created a SPIRIT BEING , AN EVERLASTING BEING.
The end of the verse: MALE AND FEMALE created He them and called them adam. means how humans were created. in genders. Spirits have no gender. GOD have no gender, angels have no gender nor shall saved human souls have gender no more as they inherit the new earth.
The only purpose for the being in gender is to multiply the earth with new generations.
As we judge our own kind, humans in general, then being in gender is too much for us , as many believe into the trans lie.
and we either multiply too much of our kind and leave the offspring's without the needed care and love or we multiply not at all, being the problem of health, beliefs of lies or just freed from it, as we do live in the last generation. Not more of our kind coming around.
Human = Spirit being, covered with the flesh just for a test of wanting life or death.
We are watching a family that made theyre people so proud when things was really hard for us and we hardly had any pride. Well when The Jackson Family with the amazing Micheal Jackson came it inspired our Melanated people to be great.
And, then some.
12:41 Damn Michael's been spinning since day 1 :o
Yeah,he's always been the King of the dance floor
It’s amazing how much all the kids who thought the guy who did thriller was such a star all their parents knew it from when he was nine! 😂😂😂

This video clip is classic the Jackson Five early performance and of course the legendary Dick Clark..RIP to one of the greatest if not the greatest performer ever Michael Jackson and to Dick Clark.

Yeah I'll agree if not the greatest
So glad we were given the privilege to hear Michael Jackson sing 😊

THE JACKSON 5 ARE IN MY ERA THE 1970's AND I WILL FOREVER AND A DAY LOVE THEIR MUSIC I JUST WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN IN PERSON A CONCERT 🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎
Omg. This is my first time seeing them perform There Was A Time which is originally by James Brown. That dancing in the end had me nearly screaming it was so phenomenal. JB was a huge influence to MJ. I love how Mike studied the best in show businesses and incorporated that knowledge into his own performances.
I was also spellbound by There was a time, watched it like 20 times, I seriously think little Michael went into a trance

Thank you for stating that. The artists of today have nothing on little MJ.
The stage presence amazing.
So cute so talented, never misses a note or a beat. Born to do this. They were a great group!
I find it very impressive that Michael can do those kind of dance moves at such a young age the other four are great dancers as well and randy is greats at the bongos I know he’s not in this video I just wanted to mention him give him credit he deserves
I feel protective on baby Randy too! Lol
Met Randy along with his Brothers! He was Very Sweet and kind! Certainly too his Big Brothers Michael and Tito!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It was so sad what happened to mj.He was a marvelous singer and human being.
It’s sad to think he was scared in his performances here because of Joe’s abuse on him. In a way I think that’s why he gravitated to people like Berrie & Diana, they provided a platform of safety in his early years away from the tyrant like his mother couldn’t. Katherine was gentle, but loyal to Joe so what he said went. He started to gain power on Joe here though because he was the main man. In certain documentaries I heard he started telling Joseph around the time they got their first hits if you keep hitting me il just stop singing. Big up Michael for standing up to him. At the same time Michael always respected Joe as much as he fears him because he realise he needed that regimented training to make him the performer he was. I hate Joseph Jackson, but Michael wouldn’t be what he was without him. What a double edged sword of conflict in the mind. Even In 2003 in that awful documentary, Michael accepted his fathers abuse, saying that he hated him for it but he was a genius for making them learn what they needed to he great.
@Casey Falconer, it's sad that those kids weren't protected. Too bad Joe Jackson didn't understand and/or accept that there are ways to discipline and train kids (animals as well), and school them, giving them what they need to be great without cussing, hitting, whipping, and slapping them. Joe probably grew up this way and was unrepentant to his last day. MJ paid for this with his life, trying to reconcile the unreconcilable, to make sense of it all. The scars run deep for all of the Jacksons.
So true.
@@staciasmith5162e was Satan walking Joe died off guilt which caused cancer in his body too after mj died they said he had regrets

I remember watching this on American Bandstand, it was the rage then to discover new performers/singers. Many renowned groups and soloists got their chance to become famous and hit the billboard’s number one spot with their songs and music. This was an awesome performance, love the Jackson 5, awesome family and great choreography by them. Even at 9, Michael’s energy and dance moves was unmatched, I believe this was the first televised performance Michael did with the Moonwalk which became his famous signature move and performance hit.
