  • Medley & Never Can Say Goodbye
*I think i've finally established that the medley should be from their 71 appearance and not 72, even though there's conflicting information out there, on the wiki for the unreleased masters album (that features the audio from this tv appearance) it lists both the medley and never can say goodbye as being from the 1971 show.
I added the HQ audio from the unreleased masters album, as this is the recording from this show. You might notice that some parts are slightly different though, I assume this is because they would perform a few takes of it and then edit them together, I've made it work the best I could.
ABOUT THIS CHANNEL I'm going to be uploading all of the documented Jackson 5 television appearances and videos (with accurate dates) using the highest quality clips I can find. Please subscribe for more!

@@goldenbowl1046 The difference of being born in the 1960's , and growing up in the 1970's and 1980's decades is that people respected each other more and it fun to be a kid. parents knew the children on the block were being looked out for, neighbor's were friendly, the respect for life meant more and crime wasnt the way it is now as opposed to YOUR GENERATION AND NEXT GENERATION COMING. When we were in school, elementary or high school, nobody thought about bringing guns to murder other students. We played with our classmates and let alone bully them. We were too busy watching cartoons or playing outside, then at night we watched The Brady Bunch and every boy black or white had a crush on Marsha Brady!!!! In the 80's we all were loving the music of that era and going to house parties and hanging out without innocent teens and little children getting shot because of damn dumb ass gangs looking for trouble. WHY?? WE HAD A DIFFERENT MINDSET.....IT WAS CALLED BEING RAISED TO RESPECT PEOPLE AND LIFE... YOUR GENERATION CANT DO THAT WITHOUT SOMEONE GETTING SHOT BECAUSE ITS FUN AND EXCITING.....YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE????? I COULD GO ON BUT PEOPLE WHO ARE GROWN KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. BY THE WAY, IM NOT YELLING. THE CAPS ARE SO YOU GET THE POINT. SO LIKE I SAID GOLDEN BOWL, THE 1970's and 1980's, GOOD TIME TO BE ALIVE AND BE A KID....AND THAT'S WHY ALL YOU KIDS BORN IN THE 80'S AND 90'S LIKE THE THINGS FROM YESTERDAY....

I’m gonna respectfully disagree with this...my dad and mom (like you) were baby boomers, and almost every mellenial that I know don’t say good things about the way their parents raised them...in fact YOUR generation were HORRIBLE parents and because of THAT, the effects from the generation after are reflected...so apparently your generation wasn’t that good after all considering how horrible of parents you have become...I’m a grown man now and I’m still trying to undo all the damage that my ignorant parents have done...and I speak for ALOT of kids whom were raised by you mindless in the clouds losers...go away...your generation was wack

Then @ 5:05 Jackie & Michael are being mischievous, @ 5:43 Michael appears to startle Jermaine as Jackie laughs & Michael laughs and dances back to the front and glances over at Jackie in laughter lol. We share the earth with the U.F,A `s unidentified fallen angels THE TARES:
      Matthew 13:26
But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
      Matthew 13:40
As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
      Matthew 13:29
But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
      Matthew 13:25
But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
      Matthew 13:30
Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

You’re definitely not wrong! I would’ve been losing my mind to see this greatness before my eyes. But back in those days when variety shows like Flip, Sonny & Cher, and Tony Orlando & Dawn ruled TV, studio audiences were basically ordered to sit still & quiet so that performances wouldn’t be disrupted. They even used canned applause (as heard in this clip) so that claps & whistles would be edited in at the right times, Even with Ed Sullivan & his live show, he always tried act as a conductor with controlling the reactions of his audience. But that definitely went out the window when The Beatles took over his stage.

I think another way to tell what year is Michael's voice. Mind you, the vocal change between '71-'73 can kind point out what era it is. You can honestly start hearing minor changes by Indiana in 1971. I think if this was possibly 1972, his voice would be a little more raspy when singing IWYB/ABC/TLYS. Based on his voice, I'd definitely say this is still 1971. Without a doubt.

The date is wrong. The Jackson 5 appeared on Diana Ross special on April 18, 1971. In that show, Marlon is slightly taller than Michael, and Jermaine is still shorter than Jackie. In this Flip Wilson show Marlon is decisively taller than Michael and Jermaine had surpass Jackie in height. I believe this show aired April 11, 1972, not 1971

This is definitely 72, because Marlon had his growth spurt here and was way taller than Michael. In 71, he was taller but not like how he was here.

I always thought that not enough credit was given to Ronnie Rancifer and Johnny Jackson on drums and keyboards...They were also very talented young men.

Parts of it are the same as the original audio, I explain this in the description too^^. Both the audios I used here are from the recording taken from the Flip Wilson show(look at the unreleased masters wiki). I think however, that some of the parts ended up different in the album recording as opposed to the version that was aired on television, as they will have done multiple takes and merged them together. Most of it is the same though, I've compared them closely when editing this!

that motown contract was horrible. its saod that motown denied the other brothers from singing background on the masters thus denying them future earnings. and less than 20cents on the record sales...thus barry gordy...stevie wonder...smokey robinson and the corp rich. the entertainers broke. 🤨
