Slides down the bonnet, walks back into the water! 🤣
Lol
3:52 the worst towing I have ever seen 😂😂😂
😂 … then the little blue fiesta towing out a van later in the video shows how it’s done.
@@joeynessily 😂 exactly! A bloody Fiesta!
Was worried for the guy standing there - you don't want to get hit by a cable under that much tension getting loose.
@@joeynessily
Thanks. It is my Fiesta and it was a first for me, towing something. Given some comments on using the clutch, in hindsight, I should have handled the clutch better and pulling a much heavier vehicle probably wasn't the best idea. Fiesta's fine though.
the guy just casually waiting for the cable to snap his balls off 🤣
That first Land Rover--they entered slowly, generated an appropriate bow wave....and then Launched themselves into said wave, which is a maneuver guaranteed to fill your air box with water. Well done!
started off so well!
I have a baby Disco!! 😂
The Discovery sport of, seeing if you can eff it up
it's baffling how many people there are that are willing to risk thousands in repair costs instead of taking a 10 minute detour.
Yep. Actually, probably less than 10 mins as it's only about 1.8 miles to the village just north of the ford.
or just spend 30 Seconds and drive slow without a wave. There is a water gauge, just check your cars manual how much it can take and you can safely add 10-20cm if you drive slowly
They just want to risk all that to get on youtube!!!
@@landsnailproject2875 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Or simply drive appropriately at say, 3mph
I’m more surprised that there are still cars left in the area after almost 100 videos
😂😂😂👍
I have a hunch that the guy in the old Sorento is new to towing 😂😂
My thoughts exactly!
Genuinely burst out laughing at that bit. Guy's been watching those Icelanders pulling folk out of snow with bungees.
…and those older Sorento’s have a low range ‘box too. Could have been so much more dignified than that kangaroo jumping!
Didn’t help that chap with Volvo hooked toe rope to an hoop for bike rack and not to toe bar on first attempt hence it pull ed the eye straight and second attempt wasn’t too bad .. yes it was in low but unfortunately when it’s I low clutch bites straight away hence the hop and then to find out owner had car keys in his pocket so steering lock on .. but yes I don’t tow that often anymore lol but good deed done for the day lol never know I mite now go to heaven lol but yes poor attempt by me lol
@@fatladleem7 I thought we were about to witness another crash here between the Volvo and the 7 seater. A Clio was pulled out by a Disco not long ago and the driver failed to disengage the steering lock/turn on the ignition 1 click and the Disco driver didn't check how they were following and the Clio got pulled straight into the front of another parked Disco with a big steel brush bumper, so the Clio didn't fair well. I don't know how insurance deals with that given the Clio wasn't under its own power, does it get treated like a trailer and therefore responsibility falls on the tow vehicle as much as the one steering the tow-ee vehicle? That was a close escape for you in that case.
Thanks for featuring me.
I am the blue Fiesta driver and asked the couple in the VW Transporter why they went through. They said they didn't think it was that deep, or read the water height signs under the bridge.
Funny, I didn't think they would go through, so I didn't bother to turn my camera on to record - it would have had a great view, as its in the waterproof bag on the tripod (can be seen at 05:35).
Great clutch control on that wet ramp sir. Credit where credits due.👍
You're a real gent pulling out that VW, like a pro!
Next trip to UK....besides Yorkshire...I want to visit North Nottinghamshire and see this entire circus and meet the famous Ben and Tom!
Me, too!
4:16 I didn’t know Honda made submarines
most of these crossover suvs with a little ground clearence would make it if they crossed at 4mph not 24mph lol
even compact and small can do it
@@grumbazor Most Faux-by-fours don't actually have a higher air intake, the weight is a bit higher but the intake is as low as the sane cars they share the platform with. If you can make it through in one of them you can make it through in the hatchback, estates, etc as well.
@@markwright3161 right, most SUV are just obese compacts that love to roll over and drown. Had a lot of fun at a local model aircraft location where all the tiguans, BMw x, audi q stuck on a wet lawn and had to be pulled out by a fiat pandy 4x4 who had some poeple sit on bonnet and one in trunk. it was ridiculous. Since that moment i despise these SUVs and their drivers even more.
5:10 Just check your steering! 😂😂😂
Good on him 👍
Ah yes, the classic slow in fast out technique
Could one of you guys do a quick survey of these people after they're rescued. Primary question being, what the F were you thinking?
🤣🤣
LOL

I'll never understand why people destroy their cars! xD
Nice to see the bloke in the volvo letting the water out before the cars put on ebay 🤣
Advertisement be like "Mint condition, never smoked in. doesn't run, probably just a sensor. I also accidentally left the window open overnight so the carpet is a bit damp."
Ah the classic sound of 2.2 Land Rover diesel with bent rods
5:55 poor little fiesta, I feel bad for the clutch in that
Thanks for your concern for my Fiesta. I must confess ignorance in towing. My concern was trying to avoid wheelspin or stalling and rolling back but yes I agree, in hindsight, I should have handled the clutch better and pulling a much heavier vehicle probably wasn't the best idea. Fiesta's fine though.
Quite impressed that the fiesta could tow that van out
I don't think the clutch was very happy about it
0:40 wtf Discovery. Sensible, sensible, sensible, ah fck it I’m bored, let’s speed up. Ah shit, I’m dead.
Yep. So stupid.
This like the up to date version of watching people in the medieval stocks in the village... Fantastic source of free entertainment... Pity I live so far away... Mmmmm🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂👍
Love it, worst towing attempt ever for that Volvo 😂,👍
Wow, I am surprised at the number of successful crossings in this video. Anyway, thank you for the fun!
That was some awful towing on that Volvo, I'd get out and give that fella a dig in the head for yanking on the cars like that!!!!
4.48 - some excellent advice from the bystander 👌
The painful sound of that strap snapping into the bumper of that volvo,
Didn’t snap chap with Volvo hooked to bike rack holder and not to tow bar hence it pulled off … just trying to do a good deed lol
@@fatladleem7his own fault if it damaged it, should think it was totalled anyway
I have spent an absolute fortune on my brand new volkswagan camper van ,there is no way on earth I would drive it in to a river lol 😆
Instead of road closed signs
They should have some pics of people sat on their sunken cars.
Rob and Chris could wait around the corner... save them the copart fees !!
the red discovery. good start, very slow, and then full speed. sooooo stupid. it makes my day
That disco did not sound healthy after its bath.
Moly moly again several 10 thousands in damages.
Wonder how many pre damaged engines will fail later.
And am surprised by the egg shaped Honda Civic.
4:10. Did not expect it to survive.
Delivered another great compilation. Keep up the good work.
Thank you 🙏
0:02 21 plate Vauxhall
Ploughs straight into the ford as if it’s a boat or amphibious car
I find the blue BMW at 6:38 very interesting, at first glance it appears he flooded his engine bay but it seems he was going just slow enough that water couldn't reach the intake
We know from many video of BMW's, he was literally flipping a coin on his cars survival, he should probably buy a lottery ticket on his way home, it appears to be his lucky day.
Blue fiesta. Clutch control of the year award.👍
The SLK at least had some sense.. 👏👏
The guy towing the Volvo 🤦♂️🤣
Thick as fuck!
I can hear car mechanics laughing all the way to the bank! 🤣
LOL That red Discovery Sport.
5:51 a sure way of burning the clutch out of your small car.
Advice from the AA
Floods and standing water
Try to avoid standing water if you can.
Don't drive into flood water that’s moving or more than 10cm (4 inches) deep.Let approaching cars pass first.
Drive slowly and steadily so you don’t make a bow wave.
Test your brakes as soon as you can afterwards.
Fast-moving water is very powerful - take care or your car could be swept away.
If you do get stuck in flood water, it's usually best to wait in the car and call for help rather than try to get out.
Let's just say that this is not applicable for those who attempt this ford 😂
Everyone in this video failed the first point.
@@jackw9920 Considering that every time you can see the depth level in the video it's showing just shy of 2 feet deep I'd say they all failed the second point as well.
Poor lil C30 lol. Owner looked absolutely disappointed lol
3:45 I thought we were going to have another towing crash because someone clearly didn't release the steering lock
I don't know how to drive. Can you please explain why steering lock should be released for towing? Thanks!
@@pyrokinetikrlz Because the driver is unable to steer when the steering lock is on.
On a conventional setup, that means the key must be inserted and turned to position 1 (accessories) to release the lock.
For a practical demonstration, check this out, driver realises too late

The freelander… you had that perfectly… then ruined it all!
If he only just continued slowly... I thought he was going to be a smart one. He went from doing the best thing possible, straight to the worst.
Wait, that was the red discovery I meant... Vehicle 2 at :40
@@volvo09 yes sorry, my mistake… its a disco sport? Not a freelander…
I see the local garage have rebooked there summer holidays again 3 months in the Bahamas 🤪
WTF was that towing hahahah
First clip came as a surprise, first time I've ever seen an "MG" with twin exhausts, does that mean it has 2 or more cylinders?
Ben that was an amazing video 😊
Thank you 🙌🏼
@@bengregers u are welcome Ben 😊
It's nearly deep enough for floating cars.
This lad must've seen a good few quids worth of water damage during his time at The Ford™️
I feel sooooo good now, as I know I'm just entirely superior to anyone who's ever been stupid.
Should be a sign before on each end "Please install tow eye before going through water"
It'd be more realistic than "Please install brain before hooning it into the water like a numpty".
That recovery with the Kia was dangerous.
But hilarious
Oh dear 🤦♂️ and the Modern Land Rover squeal of death 😂
I always enjoy watching it. Is there no other way except the river??
Those 4 wheeled submarines will never catch on !!!
4:04 PMSFL ! 🤣
Nice
Only a Jedi can cross this ford with dry feet
2:42 a rare bmw driver making a good decision in this situation
6.33 best bmw driver I’ve seen
The discovery was so close to making it, if he’d just kept the same speed……
I think you'd have better luck reversing thru it 😂
it's a new sport, like cheese rolling :)
Should play queen another one bites the dust in background 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
There's a bunch of stones blocking both sides of Rufford Ford until mid 2024 because of this.
I will have the car towing the boat behind ready to go in.🥳❤️
I wonder: what causes this "death sound" in Land Rovers... Could it be a belt or pulley?
What happens is - the engine sucks in water and tries to compress it, water will not compress and so the metal rods that connect the pistons to the crankshaft will bend. Being bent, the rods are a tiny bit shorter than before, and because of this the bottoms of the pistons can make contact with the spinning crankshaft below, and that is the cause of the screeching noise you can hear. I hope that explains it 👍
@@davidrobert2007 falsch
@@davidrobert2007 👍
@@highdownmartin Maybe so, but it also had its piston skirts scraping the crankshaft counterweights. Kind of like a machine shop inside the engine - grinding down metal components and contaminating the oil with metal filings to be pumped around the rest of the engine to do even more damage, or something.
@@highdownmartin of course it can happen. The bottom of the pistons run very close to the crank in many engines. It doesn't take much rod shortening for contact to happen.
4:04 😭😂
Love watching all these 'warriors' having to be rescued
My little cars handbook says …FORDING DEPTH, WATER.
General
Please comply with the following when driving through water:
• Deactivate the Automatic
Start/Stop function.
• Only drive through still water.
• Drive through water only if it is not deeper than a maximum of 25 cm, 9.8 in.
• Drive through water at a walking speed of no more than 5 km/h,
3 mph.
Safety note
Pay attention to the water depth and your
Speed. So why does no one do this?
Because they are stupid. You can't cure stupid.
3:13 I'm not sure if the car is made for this, but it should be no problem if we drive through quick...
I despair at the stupidity of some drivers !
I am delighted at the results here, though.
I love how the windscreen wipers come on like it's going to fix it
22" of water. BMW goes brrrrr and lives. 😲
Wow. I didn't realise that air filters required water.
How the heck did the Blue Peugeot 308 @7:40 manage to get through?
I was wondering the same. A 7.5-tonne dropside lorry went through much more cautiously just before and paid the price. Seriously impressive that the Peugeot survived, despite the owner's best efforts to kill it!
Шикарное место! Нужно там стеклянный ресторан построить! Аншлаг будет)
Are there any other ruffled fords that happen like this on youtube
0:28 a typical British Leyland start
The water draining from the Volvo was painful to watch 😬😬
Hearing pistons pump water is an awful sound 😂
3:33 what a clown.
Nice guy in green rubberboots 05:01-05:24!
Ben hope your phone was OK after dropping it in water?!
First push the water then brake then follow the wave… your welcome 🤗
Better yet, spend 15 minutes and drive round the other way .. if you really need to cross this road to nowhere at all.
Recovery companies should make there a permanent resting spot to avoid being called out they can just instantly hook up and tow a way 😂
Must have missed the road closed sign!
This is like watching GTA npc's driving straight too deep water
not only do these muppets ruin their cars, they make sure to breakdown and stop right in the middle of the road. Well done!
Someone must have a hovercraft they could use here!
Can imagen the cost of insurance in rufford is quite expensive these days
is there any way to avoid getting water in the interior 100 percent, I think the door rubber pads are doing their job but water is getting in through the bottom (carpet), And wow RMS your Fiesta did a great at towing a VW, though this shouldn't be done again unless necessary.
Water splashing over bonnet on a windscreen means trouble. Big trouble.
It’s surprising just how many melts , think cars are submarines !😂😂😂
How tf did that Honda make it?!
No brain no headaches.
Lol if they just drove slow and steady. Everyone is in a hurry.
That Disco Sport owner is doing it right
*two milliseconds later*
I was wrong
You should be on cam more 🙏🙏🙏
Who came here for the bad towing comments........ haha
