Are these match highlights or Jelena highlights? Probably the most one sided highlights I’ve ever watched. You couldn’t find any points that Simona won? She won the first set and the only point you showed her winning was an unreturned serve.

@@doommonger7784 I know these highlight editors tend to show mostly winners but I like my highlights to somewhat resemble the match, maybe tell a story. I don’t care to see just the winners. 27-3 is way too wide a margin for a three setter that had a tiebreaker in the middle.

Acts very resentful jealous when she plays against Osaka

In other words, Halep was being made helpless and unable to play the match on her own terms. I also saw the entire match btw. 20 of Jelena's unforced errors were in that first set, which allowed Simona to win it. She also had fewer winners during that part of the match. Jelena was driving them home. Her serve returns were consistantly down the middle. Play the sides more. In the last game where Jelena was servinfg at 5-0, Halep must have said what the heck and teed off on 2 serve returns for 2 winners. She needs to do that during the whole match. Ostapenko's kamikaze style of tennis means that the best winning strategy against her is just feed her with tricky balls and let her unforce-error her way out of the match. Halep did that superbly during the first set, but Ostapenko, while not the most brilliant strategist out there, has been improving her patience over the years. She started to change the focus from hitting winners to prepare the point a little bit more, and the second set was more equilibrated. That's where Simona should have changed her tactics in response and start putting more pressure on Oliona's serve, rather than waiting for her errors. She didn't, and Ostapenko played a perfect tiebreack and then a powerful start of the third set with two consecutive breaks over Simona. By then it was over.

As for the coach, Darren Cahill took a promising young player with a tendence to throw tantrums, whinning and lose focus when thing weren't going well and turn her hot-headed temper into gritty fighting spirit. That's all Cahill's merit, but I don't regard him as a great stratetegist. However, Halep's startegy at Wimbledon 2019 was superb; she was a player allergic to grass and became a champion.

She should be more humble, but I guess she is still young, lot to learn..nothing against her game, just her personality...Simona is a great player, she deserves respect for everything that she did in her career until now!
