When will tennis officials realize that service breaks divided by service break chances is an invalid measure? The most important is actual service breaks. Having more break chances does NOT take anything away from the player. If anything, more break chances is a plus, it means their opponent is on the ropes. Dividing service breaks by break chances is an erroneous statistic.

I usually root against Swiatek, but the extremely loud and extended shrieking turns me off more than anything else. I can't stand bad sports. It's interference. And just like with The Shriek (Maria Sharapova), tennis officials turn a blind eye to it. Glad Swiatek won.

Iga deserved rightly to win showing the phenomenal skills, fighting spirit, bravery, endurance and tactics when it was most necessary.The quick dirt of Madrid tennis courts did not show favoritism to Sabalenka this time. Aryna showed of course her best as a well trained, gritty fighter with very good, heavy ground strokes. Her first serve might be devastating, if she met weaker returns. Unfortunately, Iga is an excellent returner, so she eliminated often the advantage of Aryna´s first serve and put Sabalenka frequently out of her comfort zone with the help of the brilliant variety of her topspin strokes and good serving. Aryna lost a lot of energy running around and still making a lot of mistakes. In the main, Aryna does not move so well as Swiatek, even if she moved this time in Madrid better than in many previous matches between them. Her highly aggressive style depends upon the excess of sheer force, unfortunately, played surprisingly thoughtlessly, and too often from the awkwardly inconvenient positions. The hammering way of playing, strengthened by Aryna´s emotions and a kind of intimidating war cry, adopted from Sharapova, showed up often rarely efficient against Iga. It was enough against Rybakina at the end of their match, but not against Swiatek. Elena did lost the semifinal not because she was not able to endure the power of Sabalenka´s strokes, but the constant screaming seemed to break her and caused some easy mistakes at the end.
