    I think it's safe to say that he was allways a late bloomer, winning all the lower classes on the second try. I'm convinced that he will thrive if any team gives him a job. Even his performance in the second Haas year jumped from terrible in the first half to quiet decent in the second. There is probably more potential.

      Depends if he can up the results and stability a lot in a good car and team. A winning Schumacher Jr is still big pr stunt for a German team and Toto can laugh at Ferrari and Steiner. Also I don't see a F2 rookie straight up promoted into a Merc without a Williams year or two. Would need Piastri tier talent, which I don't see on Vesti to be honest. His chances at returning depend on two things that arguably are out of his control. For one there's very little in the way of places he can go to by 2024. None of the teams who have drivers whose contracts end this year showed any indication they want to part ways with said driver. So that indicates 2025, but then that also brings itself the second issue regarding maintaining his relevance as junior drivers continue pouring from F2. His stint at Haas does not do him any favors with that second point.

    It wasn't a matter of Mick succumbing to the pressure of being publicly criticized for crashing too much. The problem at Haas was that he was publicly criticized constantly by Steiner for crashing; and Haas had no drive development knowledge whatsoever, with which to fall back on and help Mick learn why the crash happened, so as to avoid repetition. Haas is a recipe for causing ANY rookie to crash repeatedly, because they don't know what to do with rookie drivers. The FIA and F1 should implement rules preventing teams from signing rookies, just because they're cheap, unless they can clearly demonstrate a driver development program.

    When your team principal gives 17 interviews about you after you have left just to downgrade you know maybe you weren't the issue. And the fact Kmag openly talks about Mick not getting the fair treatment is more proof. I am not saying he is a Lewis or Max but he isn't bad. I mean being 0.190s slower than Kmag isn't good but let's not forget how many times Haas F up strategy, remember Suzuka he would have finished P6 ( even Latifi could hold on to P9) but greed got Haas and they didn't box him, for 6 laps straight he was saying bos now and they kept saying no.

    • @13Xerro
      @13Xerro Před 11 měsíci

      He would not have finished P6 in Suzuka he was behind a lot of other drivers when people started making calls for different tyres. He was behind Tsunoda who ended up outside the points after the first round of stops while still being on a more optimal strategy than Mick. You’re supposing Haas should have called it bang perfect on a weekend where Vettel was the one making the call inside the cockpit to vault himself up the order. Lots of teams got the call wrong by a lap or two and suffered for it. Drivers made the difference in that moment and Haas chose to split their strategy to try and cover the options. Had Haas called it right Mick would have still been outside the points with Tsunoda, anything more than that he would have had to be the one to make the call and he simply lacked experience and credit in the bank to make such a call.

    He needs more time kn the bench to learn like some other comment said mick is a late bloomer for sure no doubt he has the talent to drive he just needs to wise up and study the sport more before taking a seat with another team. Reserve driver for merc is the perfect place for him a top tier team who will help him grow and learn the ins and outs of not just an f1 car but f1 as a sport in its entirety. I think with alil more time in the sim some training and a few drives in the car i think hell be ready to rip that rubber up again I personally would love to see him shine and maybe even break some f1 records closely following his fathers footsteps ofcourse with that in mind no other driver had as much pressure as mick did all eyes were watching him to see what the son of the legend himself could do and that pressure is very much there and constantly on the back of his mind and that can really mess with a young mans mind.
