I'm about to dive into my first foray into shaping and this is EXTREMELY close to what I'm going to try and do!
Almost identical dims.... but I'm also thinking about chucking two 8" boxes in and setting it up with an NPJ duo setup.
Tossing up on chucking boxes in exactly like this as well.... though I'm not sure if that will be too many boxes?

Hey mate. Yeah my mate has done some duo set ups and had good success with them and likes the way they ride. Could go well though I suspect it would make the Aysym element of the ride a little less pronounced with the duo set up which may or may not be what your looking for. The point of this one was to have a keel fin fish on one side and take away the trouble you can have riding a fish backhand by going for a round tail with quad fins.In my head the two box fins off the rail so far would kind of neutralize or dumb down the extreme of that feel but that's just a guess theory, these types of boards are fairly experimental so you really have to go with your gut and best research on theory and see what you get I reckon. If your not fussed about how the board looks or potentially making the tail a little stiff just chuck all the boxes in and go for it and use it to experiment with. Sketch them out on paper frst though make sure they all fit in the tail or you will have problems :-P lol Cheers.

Apparently NPJ has experimented with setting the two singles slightly offset, and I know of one shaper in Japan who's produced a few asym duos already. (I'm hoping he'll reply to my correspondence)
As for the "5 fin" setup.
I'm pretty sure they'll all fit, as the outline has a 16" wide tail.
I'm actually not sure if the extra fins will effect flex much either as the asym boxes wouldn't protrude much beyond the length already stiffened up by the single boxes.
I've also considered only putting outside twinnie boxes in and using a small us box nubster for a quad rear on the backside.
Or even trying duo + a pair of very small sidebites in the same asym twin spots.
Though, having said all that, there is the concern that there wouldn't be a lot of foam surrounding all those boxes. That kind of worries me that it might increase the risk of a tearout.
What length did you decide to define your board by? The point or the stringer. I can't seem to find any commentary on this simple question.

It’s been a year so how do you like it? Did you settle on the quad heel side and keel front side configuration?
