  • Welcome to the review of the Fascination asym by Album Surfboards!
    The Fascination I have been riding is 5'6 x 20 x 2 1/2 @ 32.8L
I've been lucky enough to have this board for a while now after picking it up at Prooflab in Mill Valley San Francisco in July last year, and was able to surf it around the coast there and down to San Clemente, and then also in some great waves back here in Australia!
Even though the Fascination has more of a "fish" style design, the board is at home in waves from 2ft well up to around 6ft (well overhead) and is quite the performance package.
This was my first asym I've had and I've really been enjoying asym surfboards, the bottom turn off the twin under your toes and then into a wrap on your heels with the quads under them just really can't be beat.
The volume in the Fascination for me is quite high at 32.8L, but this felt fine and not too big and bulky, it paddled into waves with ease, and had lots of glide and flow on waves and really linked sections together with ease.
I've been in love with the Fascination and it's really spiked an interest for me in asymmetrical surfboards and hopefully you can check one out!

Great review, these asym boards look so bizarre on the bottom with that fin set up, it definitely has my attention.

D F they sure do! You get a few strange looks walking to/from the water! But they definitely work!

look into getting KineseoTex Tape for your knee, it saved mine. find a chiropractor or PhysTher/Kineseologist who knows how to put it on ...KT Tape and patella tracking exercises w gentle stretching should help. 1 big teaspoon organic virgin coconut oil, 1/4 tspn organic tumeric and 1/8 tspn blk pepper works wonders for inflammation-better than asparin/tylenol/NSAIDs

Nice. What about your height? Are you taller than the board (i.e. 5'6). Does a fish shall be smaller then surfer height? Thanks for the advice!

      Hey mate! I’m 5’10.
Sizing is super personal and everyone has their own preference... ideally a fish style board should be ridden quite short, but that depends on the skill level of the surfer for how short they can go!

Hey mate what's your thought between this or the twinsman? Cheers

I love asyms, but the Twinsman is soe capable and versatile that i'd recommend the Twinsman if you aren't sure about going asymmetrical!

How would you compare it to the Twinsman? Do you prefer one over the other?

Nah - they’ve both got a spot in the quiver, this is so different!
