I think the reason Peter contained the Celestial gene is because human dna can easily be tampered with (i.e. Inhumans, mutants, Eternals, Spider-Man, Hulk, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, etc). So his dna can be mixed with other things pretty easily.

One of my personal favorite MCU films. It may be a little "slow" in the middle but it's all important stuff. The GotG films have so much more depth and nuance than people give them credit for, more than most of the rest of the MCU. Gunn is really a masterful director.
I feel like Guardians will most likely stand the test of time better than other MCU films. These films are Wizard of Oz of the 21st century.

Fun little detail I noticed too. The red mushroom like structure around Ego's seeds and growing around the Ego planet. Its called a red basket stinkhorn mushroom and they smell like literal death. Pretty cool to see that used in the film as under the surface is all death.

Hey new rockstar, just thought I’d day for your next infirm saga rewatch movie “homecoming” that when Arron Davis is talking to shocker, the only thing he is interested in right before peter shows up climbing equipment. Probably an OG prowler reference to Hobbie Brown, who used climbing equipment in his suit. Hope that helps you with the breakdown. I love ur guys stuff, by the way 👍 keep it up

Weird how the background of the skulls scene is eye shaped. As if Ego changed the his planet surface to look like a face before discovering how to create a human form but covered it up with another layer of rock and dirt and stuff once he had a human form and was inviting people to his planet

Stan is talking to Watchers the Watchers don't interact with any other species, except for Uatu, that naughty Watcher, so when he calls Tony , Tony Stank, he is interacting with another species, and since the other Watchers don't interact with other species, Stan must be Uatu by default ! or logic, whichever floats your boat
Thank you for the amazing breakdown Erik. I overlooked all of this. Now watching it back makes me appreciate the work that you guys do even more. It also makes me appreciate Gunn's amazing world building.
I'm really fascinated by Ayesha's use of the word "reckless" when describing Peter's genetic heritage. Why would it be reckless for a Celestial to reproduce with a Terran? You'd likely get a watered-down creature who'd be more powerful than a human but less so than a Celestial. It hardly seems like much of a threat. Honestly I'd be more afraid of Ego himself!
Now, if a Celestial should happen to reproduce with Eternity...or even Death...now THAT would be reckless! Could Ayesha tell that what appeared to be Terran lineage was actually something else that had been posing as Terran? I kind of hope so, because that would be super cool.
Just wondering. . . Why Yondu didn't use his arrow to stab Ego's huge brain??
