I remember we all were arguing when it was that Rhodey was a skrull, I'm really glad that they released this to just placate all of us. There was no way that he was a skrull during the Infinity war saga. The absolute deceit to fans that it would have been, with Rhodey not being able to be at his friends funeral? There are plot twists and surprises, but that would have been utterly unacceptable

I’ve known since release it took place after Endgame! Look at his head wound when Avengers Compound is collapsing on him in Avengers: Endgame. His wound is bleeding red, not purple, hence a human. It had to be after that

I thought it was obvious Rhodey was taken in Endgame. I was pretty sure Gravik was still on Nick's side to some extent up until Endgame but that was his breaking point because Fury disappeared to space right after Endgame. Wasn't there dialogue in one of the episodes where he inferred that Fury was his hero but he started to jade a bit over time but when he went to space that was the last straw? Otherwise why wouldn't Gravik just keep the DNA.

Gravik wasn't against Fury until after Endgame. Gravik still worked for Fury during the Harvest, so there would be absolutely no reason for Gravik to replace Rhodey at any point before Endgame

The thing is, they can retcon anything they want any way they want. I really don't think they'll keep much of anything from Secret Invasion. I think after this year a lot of characters introduced in the current phase will be mostly forgotten about.

Honestly would've been kinda funny to me if the Skrull Rhodey and real Rhodey were determined by the specific actors playing them. Regardless, I never really minded the idea that Rhodey was replaced after Civil War. It could have been sometime after Civil War rather than during that specific point of the physical therapy or something, but it makes the possibilities of how Rhodey would react to everything more interesting. Maybe being unable to truly say goodbye to his friend would lead to an interesting character arc for Rhodey to go on in Armor Wars? Now don't get me wrong, the idea of someone else faking the mourning period during Tony's death is messed up, but if they were able to turn that into an interesting storyline for the character, then I don't think it's a mistake. It would only be a mistake to me if the decision meant nothing in the end at all and it really had no impact whatsoever
