The translator doesn’t translate Groot, Peter understands Groot because they lived together for a while now. In the first movie right after the scene showing Peter has a translator, Peter still asks Rocket why all Groot says is “I am Groot.”
Exactly. Rocket even tells him that Groot's language is entirely contextual. Meaning you basically have a rough guess of what he means by his body language, tone of voice, and the situation. That's why it's easier to learn his language by just being around him. Even though is Asgard it's taught as an elective lmao

OMG , that “stole batteries he didn’t need” is amazing.
To his defense he ends up using those batteries to make the bomb that destroys Ego at the end of the movie. The first scene they tell us they are very dangerous and can explode. So simply strapping them to a charge would make a nuke times 200. That's why he needed tape 😂😂

Yeah, I don't buy it. That at the end there was Rocket drawing comparisons between Yondu and himself, and Peter's reaction was him realizing how much Rocket values their friendship. Yondu never heard Ego refer to Peter as a battery, so assuming that's what the line is about just doesn't make sense.
When Rocket says "I can only afford to lose one friend today", he knows that either Quill will survive or Yondu. The other guardians don't know about the only one space suit and that Rocket and Yondu are now friends. But Rocket had hope that maybe Quill would survive but he knew only one would survive, but the rest of the guardians think that Quill would not survive.
That was pretty obvious, and it was intentionally obvious

One thing that I like alot about the MCU is how different races define Earth differently. Asgardians refer Earth as Midgar, Xandarians refers it as Terra. I like that because it's believable to think that other races would name things different to us.

In the same scene at the start of the film where they’re being chased through the asteroid field and the back of their ship is blasted off- Quill grabs baby groot and throws it towards drax, who grabs him without fail. I like to think it’s a reference to the first film where drax says nothing goes over his head as he has impeccable reflexes

I know many will disagree but here goes - Vol. 2 is one of my favorite MCU movies ever and it ie easily one of the most heartfelt , genuine , visually splendid , soulful , and passionate MCU films .

A missed detail with Yondu.
When he's using his prototype fin, you can see black veins popping out and spreading from the fin, implying that he's still physically getting use to it.
