People talk about horsepower , when they can never use it. This is a family vehicle, how fast are you going with your children in the backseat? This vehicle looks exactly like the SRT, just minus the bigger engine and performance parts. I think that if you're not tracking your vehicle, the RT is the better bang for your buck...
Blac 76 especially when you’re talking about gas mileage, right? I’m not into 12mpg when I’m shuttling back and forth to/from soccer practice and Taekwondo. I’ll take the RT.

The Beats system in our 13' Charger R/T was horrible. Glad someone else isn't fooled by the marketing.
Beats in general is trash
The 2014 Durango RT has an Alpine system that sounds really good. Vehicles with Beats and Bose are pure marketing.
Yeah, I have a '16 R/T and the Beats system is probably one of the worst sounding I've experienced in decades...much like their crappy-assed headphones!
I test drove a 300 that had a beats system, was not even slightly impressed. The pacifica and grand cherokee with the harmon kardon system is the best I've experienced from factory.
If you notice the beats speaker count and amplifier output is identical. I wouldn't be surprised if Alpine makes it but Beats markets it.
I just bought (a couple days ago) this identical R/T color combo. Second choice was a Lexus GX460. Initial complaint on my test drives with the R/T was cylinder deactivation in normal mode only - didn't like it (Sport & Track modes have no cylinder deactivation). But little known fact is, with some prodding, the dealership can 'flash' the on board computer and deactivate cylinder deactivation in Normal mode. I never thought I'd own a Chrysler/Dodge product. By far the R/T is a terrific, over-engineered value. BTW, test drove the SRT. Fast as heck but realistically, in street/hwy driving, 360hp is plenty. Now-a-days, 360hp in a vehicle runs more efficiently then it did just 10 years ago.

LOL, its why I had to go with the SRT.. I've driven the RT. Its got SOME pep but there is a noticeable difference.. not to mention better interior, rims, suspension, etc..
its not all about HP. The SRT brings a ton of other features that you just don't get in the RT

The insurance on the SRT is insane! Between the additional monthly car insurance and premium fuel charge you can have a lot of fun spending that money on another hobby.

why compare it to the srt there reviewing the rt why bring up the srt and im pretty sure the ones wgo said the srt is better are driving an 98 camry and cant afford the rt and stop comparing same truck except for the badges and different engine its a v8 by the end of the day
Chrysler makes sure that the vehicle feels worse than it is compared to the SRT. 3.70s vs 3.08s makes a massive difference.
because the SRT has like 100 more hp and has a newer engine, that 5.7 is fucking ancient
Great job fellas and I agree...I would like the SRT but the engine only upgrade is not worth 70k...which is the only difference between RT and SRT....I need gas to be $4 a gallon for the prices to drop to pick up a SRT.. sub..
It's a lot more than just the motor. The entire drive train, steering, suspension, brakes, and exhaust are significantly upgraded in the SRT. I traded in an R/T for an SRT and there is a HUGE difference in performance and handling. You can't even compare the two. It's night and day.
Don't you get the 6.4 with the jeep? With an extra 130hp
And a extra 30k

Why bother with the SRT? Because, if you can afford it, it is sooo much better than the R/T. I loved my 2015 Durango R/T, but it doesn't even remotely compare to the 2018 Durango SRT that I traded it in for!!!
I drive a 2015 Hyundia Genesis Coupe 3.8. and compared to the Durango R/T it makes about the same power. but need a family vehicle.

Mine was 45K out the door, AWD and incentives.
The base price here in MA is $46k. Ours was optioned out to $51k, but managed to still walk out the door with it at $47k
Dan Moro no regrets? I’m thinking about getting the R/T over the Overland Jeep. Comes out to be about the same. Only thing this one doesn’t have the big sunroof and adjustable suspension like the Overland does

No, the standard engine is the 3.6 V6 but you can get it in the citadel witch has even more tech features

Honestly in my opinion, with the 6.4 392 becoming more affordable as well as with the Supercharged 6.2, the 5.7 is kinda boring and useless for their sportier vehicles. I think they should keep it for their more luxury vehicles (300, Grand Cherokee) and trucks, but for sports cars, they could get rid of it. Even Dodge really doesn't care about the R/T models really, I mean the Ram 1500 with the 5.7 makes more then a 5.7 equipped Charger, Challenger, or 300. Even the 5.7 equipped Durangos and Grand Cherokees makes less power. So, in my opinion, I personally don't see it lasting much longer for the sports cars.

Why buying a Durango? For the same price, you can get way better! It's poorly equipped, and it's not efficient at all.
scalpa De môcheparte when you buy a vehicle like that you should know that it’s not going to be efficient on gas. If you want something like that you need a smaller vehicle. But this is a great vehicle for families I think you missed the rating and what it has in it. You probably could get something better, but at that rate if you go german and it breaks your screwed. I like the Durango I think it’s a decent vehicle. Priced a little high though.

My wife ordered a Tiguan yesterday and I test drove the Atlas... the 4motion (quatro) system is so much better than any other awd systems. Not talking about the 6 years bumper to bumper warranty...
