- Todays video goes in depth with the new 2019 Dodge Durango R/T! This massive SUV has a lot to offer from 6 or 7 seats, to rwd or awd and a pretty hefty towing capacity! The exterior is not over done and has nice clean lines, but it's inside this SUV where it really shines. From the leather seats, to the standard safety features and the easy to use LCD screens! This really offers a lot for a full size SUV even with room for adults in the third row!

Just traded in my 2016 Durango R/T for a new Ram 1500. My R/T was completely loaded with every bell and whistle. I have to say it was an awesome vehicle and I do miss it. I was looking to get a new one but the incentives from Dodge were not enticing enough for me to get a new one. I seriously advise anyone who is considering a new Durango to go ahead and get the R/T trim, you won't regret it!
I got a 2019 awd rt for 26 k 80 k miles and love the new grill looks menacing srt I was going to get a challenger 392 but my girl like what about us n the kids 😅
I will be driving this vehicle in less than 30 days and I thank the lord for it right now all in agreement with me type amen 🙏🏾

You don’t need to click the black button that’s just for locking it the only reason it opened was because you put your hand 🖐around the handle which is where it unlocks

You don't press the lock button when opening the door, there is a capacitive strip inside that unlocks the doors. Just grab the handle firmly

My mom had a 2015-2014 hemi Durango. But living in Detroit at the time she made the mistake of not putting it in the garage and someone stole it.
Some of your specifications are incorrect. Towing capacity for one. And the button on the door handle is to lock the truck it unlocks automatically when you put your hand behind the handle as long as the key is on you.

The R/T can not tow 8700 lbs.
I have this one but not the RT. I have the limited. This one looks the same as mines I just have one exhaust pipe but they are exact inside out

The two errors in the video got a thumbs down from me sorry.
1. They are HID headlights, not LED.
2. To unlock and open the door, just grab the handle while having the key in your pocket. The black button is for locking only.

I know I’m late but I think his point was to show you can unlock the car with the key in your hand. I don’t think he intentionally meant that you need to lock it first lol.
There is one thing that has always bothered me about these Durangos. They have standard halogen yellow interior lights. On top of that, the map lights are soldered LEDs. It makes it hard to change it all to white interior lights. It's very sad that Dodge doesn't have an upgrade package to white and or change everything to stock white on such a premium vehicle.
the black button isn't to open it's to lock. you don't need to lock to start it auto-locks for you. the srt tows 8400 not the rt. wish you had your facts together.

Headlights are hid. Towing is wrong. Button does not have to be pressed on the door to open. Otherwise solid video.

ON the dodge performance website, shows the v6 tows up to 6200 and the Hemi is 8700.
The SRT is rated for 8700

Lots of mistakes. Here are two quickies you make in just the first two minutes: Durango R/T does NOT have LED headlights. They are Bi-Xenon HID Also, the R/T you reviewed has a tow capacity of 7200 pounds, not 8700. 8700 applies ONLY to the SRT with the bigger engine and beefier suspension.
I'll admit you've got polish and style. You're a fine presenter. But it's not supposed to be about you. It's about the car, which is why you should get the facts right.

The 2019 Dodge Durango ranks in the bottom half of the midsize SUV class. It has unwieldy handling, a poor predicted reliability rating, and low safety scores. There's little to like about this Dodge that you can't find elsewhere in the class in a better overall package.
The Durango is designed as a traditional Sports Utility Vehicle built on a RAM truck frame. The points you listed are from cars.usnews. That list you're referring to supposedly ranks "all midsize suvs". Anyone that knows cars will disregard that list and cars.usnews credibility as a reliable source of information. 70% of the vehicles in that line up are lame crossovers that arent even in the same performace/maintenance class as midsize/full size SUVs. The fact that they recommend you to buy a mazda instead-as a competing vehicle in this 'class' - is a joke.
Predictability - If you cant afford to buy and maintain a pick up truck. Dont buy this vehicle. Its not a CRV or Kia Sportage. Its a spots utility vehicle. Pick your model according to your needs. Not according to what you can afford. Most people cant afford this vehicle.
Turning - Theres nothing wrong with the turning response of this vehicle. Its a stretch to have listed it as a con.
Safety - If you cant afford great car insurance, dont expect air bags to do any better on any vehicle.
Interior is trash
Pray tell it may not be no BMW or Audi or Mercedes style interior but it's pretty decent for its class. Especially when you compare it to the Bland looking Expedition and snooze Fest looking Chevy Tahoe which it competes against.
You obviously don’t know the segment very well it isn’t Lincoln or Cadillac.
It's actually based on a Mercedes platform.
Boise City Auto this competes more with the traverse and explorer, as the expedition and Tahoe are truck based, while this is car based
