- We review the nutty Dodge Durango SRT 3 row SUV. As SUVs take over we are starting to see sports car levels of performance from them. While we already covered the SRT Durango we take a look to see if this is still relevant. The other options are vehicles like the BMW X5M, Alfa Stelvio, Jaguar F-Pace, Porsche Cayenne, and more.

coincidentally, 392 is also the average weight of a typical Durango owner.

ahh yes carbon fiber in a giant SUV, gotta save that weight you know.
You're really going to feel that 1.5 lbs difference when you're pushing this thing to it's limits on the track.
That’s like having an obese person shave all their hair off to save weight lol
Sawyer fat cyclist in lycra
hahah
@CJ Jacobs Of course and it's does look better than plastichrome all jokes aside. Just funny anything high cost MUST have carbon fiber even if it's kinda pointless and wasting the material.
I have a 2020 SRT and in Auto mode I average 16.5 mpg around town back and forth to drop the kids off. It’s about 50/50 city/hwy and includes sticking my foot in it once in a while. 300 mile road trips I’ve gotten as high as 21 mpg at 75mph one way and as low as 18mpg coming back.
Overall, I’ve been pleased with the gas mileage considering how much fun I have with it. Great review of it. It’s every bit as fun as you say as a daily driver.
Why not a trackhawk bud? Just curious.
David T Had to have the 3rd row.
That’s the same I get in my highlander hybrid
Honestly that’s not super terrible, I had a 2002 v6 accord and I used to get about 20mpg in the city and 24 if I was super light on the throttle.
"80s action movie of 3-row SUVs" dude, that's a SPOT ON description.
Except that the term and in fact SUV didn’t arrive until the 1990s

If love dominated, we could have roaring zero-emission muscle cars that young people can afford new and don't have to kill themselves in on the road because there would always be a race track in range as there are stadiums and movie theaters.
The production quality of your videos is amazing! I’m not even in the market for a giant SUV, but still enjoy watching your videos for all the details you provide!
1:22 - OMG a Turbowski siting (sitting?)!! I thought he was deported!
He might've been. That's from an older video

chipbabini thank you!
Jack looking so much more comfortable doing the presentation solo. 👍
That's because he doesn't have Mark over his shoulder telling the camera "HE'S NOT VERY GOOD BUT GIVE HIM A BREAK HE'S NEW"
I love you Mark but Jack was always great, he doesn't deserve that...
Great video guys! As a Durango SRT owner, I completely agreed on all points mentioned, both negatives and positives. For me, the positives far outweigh the negatives. In particular, given that these SRT's have become a steal on the used car market. Way undervalued for the driving enjoyment and practicality that you get with the excellent combination of muscle car, SUV, and value.
In total agreement! I actually want to take the wife shopping, hair salon, book club, cult rituals, etc... as long as I drive! SRT, baby!
couldnt agree more, I feel like that all srts are rare enough to be cool but still enough being produced to keep values second hand pretty reasonable. I just picked up a 15 Jeep srt with 25k miles
It is a dodge though. The only dodge that holds value is one with a big diesel engine. The rest of the vehicle means nothing. And even then, it's a dodge so I will never buy one.
Not anymore. :(
I love these two, great chemistry, inside jokes galore and total and utter in your face honest brutality,...many of my coveted appreciations.
3:42 - Are we all just going to ignore the name of the song title playing in the top left corner? Nice touch, truly Savage.
When I saw that I scrolled to the comments.
LOL, and again Jack said "it's inoffensive" right after it. I just watched the Jeep review and there they showed 1-800-My-Car-Is-A-Turd on the infotainment and he used the same words.

Thank God FCA has the balls to still build vehicles the way God intended! Front engine wheel drive! Challenger, charger, 300 Durango, SRT jeep they’re all wonderful! Truth be told, I was a Ford guy my whole life. I still own a late model GT 350. My next car is quickly going to become a scat pack challenger as a daily driver when my magnum is retired.
Just watched your original srt Durango review last night and loved it! Cant wait to watch this one
Thus channel is definitely the best car review channel, no bs pandering, you guys are funny, the chemistry between you guys is also great!
The understated humor of this channel is outstanding.
Watching this channel for a while. Production. Information. The professional, but comical, chemistry of the guys seals the deal for me.. keep it coming. P.S. lost it on the sly pt cruiser insert, BRILLIANCE. #savagegeese
Love how you floor it every chance you get.
I think it’s pretty cool, and I’m not even a FCA fan. Poor man’s AMG it seems like.
You'd better be rich with that gas bill.
Quaid McIver that’s one way of putting it but they both spend the same amount of time in the garage
Smart man's AMG. The money you'll save you can spend on gas, service, and tires. Unless you're buying a G63 then who cares.
It's even built on a 20 year old Mercedes!
@@AbzAden I don't know I mean my Uncle has a GL650 AMG that's about 4 years old maybe 5. He's got between 80k & 90k on it and all he's done to it (or had to do to it) was the regular service. There was one thing repaired under warranty that did not prevent daily usage (can't remember what it was) anyway I've driven it a dozen times and I would definitely take the GL650 AMG over any S Class the same year. However would I buy one instead of a Cherokee Trackhawk or one of these Durangos? I think the Durango or the Jeep would be more fun so probably not. I say this as a Car guy and not an SUV/Truck guy.
wow. beside old school gems, this is my favorite video. The jokes, the banter, the 'meh', made it the most perfect entertainment experience out there. That combination of video production quality, the tsunami of information topped-off with that zing of fun.

I wish reviewers would stop calling Alcantara “leather”. It is not leather or suede, but a polyester and polyurethane blend. It’s a high end microfiber, nothing more.

He says "alcantara and leather", from the video it looks like the seat is made of both.
Alcantara is synthetic suede.

@@MrCarGuy If you have to worry about flipping a modern SUV cause you took the corner too fast, you shouldn't be driving at all.
@@Trussme96 "Modern" has nothing to do with it. Any vehicle at this performance level and having shortcomings related to gravity (putting it mildly here) shouldn't have the average licensed American driver behind the wheel.

Thats why you purchase the SRT Durango. That and the third row allow a family man to get his man card back legitimately.
Best video title ever.
The way you presented the car it seems that it's a Renault Clio V6 of the suv world. I love it :)
The Grand Cherokee interior footage at the beginning had me rethinking if I'm watching GC review and not a Durango
I love the Durango. Every vehicle is loaded with plastic and making it soft to the touch doesn't make it any less plastic. The SRT package just adds to an already great vehicle.
Another great insight into American car culture.
these sound great in person!
Perfect assessment.
My buddy rented one and we were both surprised on how enjoyable and comfortable it was for a Dodge
For a Dodge? That's so racist 😆
Lol dodge is good at making cars that can melt tires. Other than that they suck

MPG for test = 5?
Nice job, Jack.
More like the boys stole the keys for daddy's 3 row hot rod and went joy riding, than grown up review. Loved it!
That's a handsome SUV. I can overlook the negatives if the positives are great. Yes its too expensive but most trucks and SUVs are too expensive. Omg that exhaust note in the cabin is sweet music.
This SUV is very good at making you forget all about the cheap build. It's like an old Corvette in SUV form! I can see why you guys are having so much fun.
The best review I’ve seen thus far. I currently drive a 6.2L Raptor but I have twins on the way so I’m looking for a MANLY family vehicle and not a mini van, so SRT has my vote.
And an SRT will be far more reliable than those ST Fords with turbo motors.
Glad they refreshed the dash for 2021

I love that consumers are considered so helpless, that the door card itself has to warn you "No open cups, closed containers only!" with a nice little emblem. 😂
"Wait, I'm not supposed to put my open cup in a vertical holder? Maybe I shouldn't be driving a 4800 lbs missile down the highway."
@@dragoonTT Just make sure you slam the door because the velocity will keep the liquid in the back of the cup. ;)
Nice description of the people who would drive this LOL LOL Love it :))))
Ah yes, the 2020 2011 Mercedes platform FCA plastic long wheelbase 3-row Jeep with a Dodge badge. This is the only channel that could get me to watch a video about a Durango.
I have a 2019 SRT and get between 15 mpg and 17 mpg most of the time. To get 10 mpg I would have to drive like a lunatic non stop. Perhaps when you drove the old one it had the older 5 speed gearbox, the 8 speed ZF makes a big difference.
This is good info
Can confirm, my 18 Jeep SRT gets 10 mpg combined and it will climb to 14 combined if im doing a lot of highway. Completely worth it.
How many blow up dolls fit back there though?
atleast 10...enjoy

Sounds like Jack is reading the script written by the Boss!💙
Going from the Honda Venue in your last video to this, and then put quiet piano music over it is just insane. I would buy it on the spot but in Germany you really will be broke driving this guzzler, not to mention not fitting very well on narrow urban streets. But man is it cool !
Love that track title playing when you filmed the infotainment walkthru, pointing at 3:51 was right on the nose...
@6:50...raining hard.....@6:53...beautiful sunny day. Weather changes fast in them parts.
We’ll see who will be able to afford one of these in a month or two. My guess, not so many. There will be crazy incentives though.
When the miles rack up depending on your average temperature on where you live some will run into "cooling issues".
Would also make a fine tow vehicle for a small to medium-sized camper. I'm towing a 26 footer with an RT, and would welcome the additional oomph of the 392.
I recently traded my 16 2.3 explorer for an 18 R/T durango. The SRT price tag was just way too much due to the covid used car surge. Every time I re-watch these, I regret my decision but then I remember I get 18-22mpg in my R/T and only need 89 lol. Maybe in a few years when the market settles back down I will get a 21/22 SRT or even a hellcat
What's the name of the jazz song? So smooth and relaxing...
What strikes me as being odd is the fact that FCA is able to knock the higher end trim packages on their RAM trucks out of the park, and do so at a similar price-point.
The interior will he updated soon on the Durango
This interior will age about as well as the Daimler interiors of yore
Goodness, I know you guys try not to do heavily modded cars but I would let you drive mine any day. Problem is I’m in Miami 😂. If you ever get the chance to drive a 2014 mustang gt, id love to hear how good (or bad!) you feel it is.
