You're at the lake, 99% good, you enjoy yourself and you will straighten out the party boat. No worries, like the vid, can't beat the old OMC stuff. Have a great 4th of July !! See you on the next one doug
Mustie1 good stuff on opening the cabin (camp) and starting the boat. Im sure you felt better when it was cleaned up and cruising the lake. Enjoy your holiday!
I know we would have a blast as a family on one of those. I grew up on the lake but my wife and kids having had that experience. We have a big reservoir not too far from home called Patoka and of course there is always the Ohio river just a few minutes away. It's very pretty most of the time. Have a great time with your family!
Mustie1, I know the videos a few years old and this is the first time I've seen it. But I wanted to remark about you running the fuel out. That's a 2-stroke not a 4-stroke, and I learned a long time ago, that if you run the fuel out you also run the lubrication out. I find it although more of a hassle, it is much better to pull the drain plug(s) on the carburetor(s). Although most people say that it doesn't make a difference I had a 1962 45 horsepower Merc that I used to do that with, and when I tore the motor down to rebuild it, it did show signs of wear on the connecting rod big and and little end needle bearings. Just something for you to be aware of in the future
Got my boat in the water first time on the weekend this year. It was so cold all the outboard did was pump the cold 3c degree water through the motor and blow out a little smoke through the outer exhaust outlet. Lifting the outboard back out of the water fixed that problem and it started right away.
We are hoping you're not over doing it with all of that running around. What a mess on the boat. D said to wait until we get there and we will help you do stuff like that. We're in Bob and Krista's yard and he set up my computer for internet access.
pjs dad has a big boat he has a 1994 main ship with 2 240 hp murks in them the thing hauls. my grandpa had all kinds of boats pontoon to speed boats we had 2 seed doos back in the day but we sold them years ago. boating cost way to much now we haven put a boat in the water in over 2 years now
I wouldn't jump start my boat because I did once and I was in a middle of a lake and my outboard died and I was stranded luckily a neighbour with a boat was nearby and help tow our boat to shore
Who's we you got a mouse in your pocket? I'm thinking your wife did that :-) I know how fond you are my song I figured you might have had one in your pocket since there always and everything else you own.
unless your motor was originally a rope start and doesn't have the electric clutch/primer you DO need to push the key in to choke the motor for initial starting Source: Evinrude/Johnson shop manual by Clymer, 2-40hp up to 1988
icek9a hell ya I have to push the key in and adjust the fast idle lever. You only have to push the key In for the first start of the day . Once the motor is warm you should be able to turn let start. I have OMC CONTROL AND rope start. I hate my outboard it's a 97 9.9 evinrude. I have about 12 hours on the motor and nothing but problem. To the point going to sell the whole boat just because the motor. When I launch I don't want to just idle letting the motor warm up on a busy boat ramp
Great boat, it's remarkable that something runs that well after sitting outside at your camp for extended periods of time.

Imagine how well it would have started and run if it had been properly winterized/serviced for the summer!
kramden when your bedridden waiting on back surgery some things dont get done like they should,
Who's we you got a mouse in your pocket? I'm thinking your wife did that :-)

A lot of haters out there. Weird how they act like they HAVE to watch it. Haha if you don't like what you see, change the dam channel!!!
he did not know how to start the motor. When you push in and out on the key you do nothing. You must hold the key in while cranking the engine.
false,
True.. You hold the key in for choke.

Wow, Mr. Maintainance at work. I hope he takes better care of his wife
That is rude. I can't think you know this channel. It is not overly edited like things you may be used to.
chimp3376 is it too rude for evinrude?
I have learned, over the years, when people make that type of statement they usually are referring to themselves.
You have to learn to wait for a battery to start
how about getting a new boat

That was a cold starting hey did they know how to Crank It Up do it like me better than you didn't need better hear that stuff you just
That Evinrude is running like crap.
